I was super excited but that quickly turned to huge disappointment after a few matches. I face tons of decks that I have no chance of beating. I got virtually nothing good out of the free packs I got and being a relatively new f2p, I don't have enough dust or gold to have enough cards from the expansion to be able to build a deck with it. The decks I used to enjoy playing don't work agaist anything I meet in either mode now and Standard is a nightmare.
I'll wait till the meta stabilizes a bit but right now it looks like I will be uninstalling the game soon because I can't play it anymore.
I'm not a new player, but I rarely try to go higher than 15 on ranked, and didn't pre-order packs. I was excited going into yesterday, but now I feel similar to you, in that I got nothing good in my WoG packs and have thus been struggling to win games in Standard without my GvG and Naxx cards...it was very frustrating to drop from rank 14 to 18 before winning a measley two games (with priest, granted - maybe I would've been better off with a different class). I'll probably switch back to Wild so I can keep using GvG cards, after I finish winning seven more Standard mode games. Once I've gotten a larger pool of cards from WoG, I'll try this again.
i hear ya. I wish there was a way to match against other f2p players or something. It seems like today it's either a same-old shit aggro shaman deck or it's some druid who purchased 900 packs and has a complete set of new cards. it's made standard almost unplayable for anyone who was f2p from the start and doesn't have a full set of standard cards and plop down $100 for WOG cards.
1. BGH costs 2 more and a lot of us thought this was a significant enough nerf to kill the card off. It wasn't. I am going to predict that the card wasn't affected one bit. Shaman plays their turn 4 7/7 and you play your turn 5 BGH. Problem solved. It's effect is too strong, upping the mana cost wasn't enough of a nerf Blizzard.
2. Someone in this thread mentioned how Shaman has been in a bad place for about a year. You are incorrect. Shaman has been in a bad place since beta. This is why Shaman was given OP cards. They are overextending for the class being shitty the whole time. This was expected.
3. The Black Knight will probably be a tier 1 card.
4. No one who plays Hearthstone can claim that this new Standard meta is bland/boring. Not even the "pros" know what's going to happen yet. Keep playing. Keep playing. Keep playing!!
I'm really liking it. The meta seems very diverse. I do have to agree with others on here. Aggro Shaman is ridiculous. The evolve effect and Flamewreathed Faceless are just too good for their cost.
But the expansion just released yesterday. I'm sure tech decks will crop up that counter the ones that seem dominant.

If you had saved gold before the expansion you might have something now. My friend saved just 2k and he got golden yogg saron. (i got yogg 2 but it's not golden so i'm jelly).
I like how people are crying about Sham's 7/7 and the BGH nerf...when BGH still counters that card PERFECTLY.
Except not tht many decks use BGH. Normal minions start getting 7+ attack at 6+ mana cost. At that point you should have something similar on the board which you can use to trade into that minion. Here you play solid 3/4 on turn 3 and enemy answers with 7/7. Even fireball lacks one damage to kill it. Silence is useless aswell.

My point is, run BGH or dont QQ.
you mean a nerfed card that curves further up than a shaman's 7/7? kay.

Yes its nerfed does that mean you refuse to play it? Okay get smashed in the face with a 7/7 or find another removal.
Tempo Mage with Cabalist's Tome is surprisingly consistent. The tome is the new esportal lmao.
Whoever thought Flamewreathed Faceless was an ok card to print is out of their goddamn mind.
I'm not quite sure if The Black Knight is back yet. Sylvanas is though and that makes me want to run silence rather than TBK more.
Meta hasn't slowed down. Freaking aggro shaman.
I actually miss Boom.
Seriously? People will bitch about anything I guess...
Got combo nerfed and still QQ'ing
its only the first week
I'm not bitching? Learn what personal opinion is. I tried assembling such a deck MYSELF hoping it'd feel refreshing. But innervate taunt + build your C'thun combo behind it is boring IMO.

I just want to tell you guys, i'm a f2p players, and i made a Yogg Deck/C'thun deck / EvolutionDeck. All of those are pretty decent. Just stop whinning and uninstall the game. End of story, stop complaining about C'thun deck and Shaman, you guys always complains.......
I had some great cards from my pre-order pack. Really excited about Priest with this expansion. Running a dragon priest deck with the new Deathwing. Also running a C'Thun with some control. I opened N'Zoth so I've been having fun playing around with a control death rattle deck.

You honestly havent played it enough then
For some reason, most people here think making a Cthun Deck = 10 Cthun buffs behind a taunt -> throw down a 20/20 c'thun
If you think that, then your not playing it to its full advantage, and thats fine I'll take a free win... but in reality I only win about 20% of my games on the back of Cthun (and even then usually a 12/12 a most). I usually win before I even draw him though with smart board control, appropriate removal, and some gimmicky fun with Fandral Staghelm + Raven Idol or Druid of the Claw
Was combo getting boring pre-nerf? Yea Ill give you that...
but now that different archetypes are popping up, Its feelgoodman to be able to MAKE a win condition out of your hand. Not just drop 2 cards

So far:
Freaking aggro shaman.I actually miss Boom.face shaman is probably on top atm, feels too good
Priest with some board clears and cthun seems decent
Spell hunter seems semi consistent. Good against most control.

I am getting a feeling that I have no chance against people who bought 50 packs.
