I am a FTP player who has been playing for about a year now. I see that a ton of the top control decks are running Harrison Jones, and was wondering if he is worth the craft. I am not "poor" when it comes to dust, but as FTP I don't want to waste it. The reason I haven't crafted him yet is because you have a much cheaper option with acidic swamp ooze, but it seems like maybe his added benefit of card draw is going to be worth it this expansion particularly with paladin and cubelock decks being so prominent in the meta. If you have played with both acidic and Harrison before, can anyone give me some idea about how much he helps your win rate? Or is the difference pretty small so I should save my dust for other legendary cards?
I've always figured Harrison Jones is a "luxury" craft. As you mentioned, the Oozes are cheap alternatives that get the same job done. If you're playing control decks, you typically have other ways to draw cards anyways.
I actually haven't ever crafted Harrison Jones yet myself haha, and I don't think I miss him. I'd rather use the dust on cards that you can more likely build around and maybe have more fun with.

No. Echo by itself makes it worth far less, not to mention other card draw mechanisms. These days the card draw it triggers is as likely to be a problem as a solution. Have it. Can't even remember when I last used it.
I dusted a golden Harry and prefer to use one of the oozes if I ever choose to run those. Using tech cards imo, are better when the mana costs less and you can do something else on your turn.
Thanks for the replies everyone, really appreciate it! I will probably just hold off on crafting him at the moment then unless he becomes very viable in a particular meta or I really want to play a deck that needs him for the card draw.
Well this is a meta for Harrison, so many strong weapon to destroy. If you play a Control deck , craft it because with a slow deck 5 mana is not a issue anyway. However if you play an aggro or tempo deck, you should play ozze even if you have Harrison
Yeah he is. He comes and goes over time. Right now he is seeing lots of play in standard. Don't expect to always play him, but having him in your collection will make you happy.
I seldom run him, usually run gluttonous as I find I'm able to play it out more easily and it's useful against hunters. But acidic is good too and even cheaper.
Be careful playing Harrison Jones if you're going to be playing a control deck. Many control decks today in Witchwood seem to have pretty hefty hand sizes throughout the match, and the more popular weapons have 3 durability, so be careful not to overdraw. Honestly, craft something else. The card is 'good' but I doubt you will use it often enough to justify crafting it, better be safe and just use a small 2-mana ooze instead. Like someone said above, it's a luxury craft, a regular ooze will get the job done.
I would not recommend spending so much dust on a tech card, especially one that is easily replaced by the Basic Acidic Swamp Ooze.
As I have understood it, tech cards, especially legendary cards, are not suitable to craft unless you are dead set on reaching Legend with a deck that uses one. If I was on a budget, I would save my dust for cards I was sure of using in multiple decks over a long time. Harrison Jones has been a somewhat consistent presence in this game, but a small one, and he could disappear from the meta-game if it changes even slightly.
I remember during the Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion, I considered crafting The Black Knight to counter The Lich King and Bonemare, but his usefulness quickly faded before I could finish deciding. Like with that time, there is no guarantee that Cube Warlocks will remain dominant long enough for one to get their dust's worth out of Harrison Jones.

Thanks for any insight!

I like Harrison. Especially in classes that struggle with draw.
Downside to him is that he costs 5 instead of 2/3, possibly restricting your turn. He also draws cards which sometimes is not what you want.
Solid craft though, you won't regret crafting him.
I wouldn’t put him at the top of any list to enchant as you can get most of the effect elsewhere, but I doubt you will ever be unhappy to have him.
