I'm looking for a deck to craft as an alt to my zoolock/keleseth decks. I still get destroyed by some priests and jade druids more often than not, and would love something that would counter those when I'm facing loads of them.
I have 5800 dust and can dust my deathstalker rexxar card for a little bit more (putting me to around 6200)
I am a little aprehensive with the new expension just a few weeks away though. so would I be better off just sticking my with my zoo decks and saving dust till later?
Decks I'm currently looking at "c'thun control warlock with mindbreaker to shaft priest", "jade evolve shaman, probably the marin the fox variant" and "keleseth tempo rogue" mainly, but would love to hear some suggestions on decks I could build right now as an alt to my zoo, while cutting back on cards that may become null during K&C.
PS: I am pre ordering the 50 pack for K&C so I won't be completely screwed, I guess keeping the dust for then would probably be the most sensible option really, but then I'm not all that sensible and would really like to play something new (I have only played keleseth zoolock based decks recently, I missed out on the past 2 metas having had a break since old gods/karazahn)
My collection should be viewable also (I tend to dusted a lot of stuff to make a deck for this meta though, I know dusting cards isn't really optimal neither, but I needed to get a working deck up and running and I do like my warlock decks)
I won't speak to crafting since you say you have enough money to buy the preorder so I think you'll be fine.
As far as which deck to build, I've been playing evo shaman in a variety of different forms since Old Gods, man this deck is fun to ladder on. It's good with the Jade package as a baseline strat and throwing Marin in to mix it up even more has been rewarding. I honestly think this is one of the few decks you can spam games with and still have fun and still be competitive. I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it already. Also apart from Thrall, you don't need any legends or epics so it's an easy deck to get into and not feel too much remorse if you don't like it.
C'thun is rotating I'd stay far away from that. Keleseth to me isn't fun because it's a draw-rng as opposed to effects-rng like evolve.
Mindbreaker is a card I've tried to make work just to mess with priests but it really doesn't do enough vs anything else. The stats aren't terrible, it's passable, but still it feels meh, I wouldn't get involved with it right now before the expand.
Again, you're only 3 days from new information so I'd wait to craft anything until we get a better picture of what's coming. Hope i helped.
I also played evolve last year and loved it, this is what turned me on to the new versions so much as I seen it has even more tools now.
The c'thun warlock decks do look like a lot of fun, but like you say I'll not get that much life from the cards at this point.
I'm actually considering playing the shadow reaper anduin deck with ysera in it (it's the most affordable version for me) only thing is I don't like anduin very much and I didn't get the priest skin from twitch prime.. lol. I know it's a stupid reason to not play priest, but I'd have definitely played priest with the skin as I love tyrande a lot.
Hmm... I might just craft the jade evolve then.... I could get by on my keleseth zoo decks for now though given I have 4 variants of it.
I think this is probably too expensive for me to craft right now or I'd go for it. There is a version of the priest/dk anduin with ysera in it that is within my dust-range though.
Get Evolve Shaman and do not (DO NOT) dust ANY DK hero card. They are way to useful to pass up on, and DK Rexxar isn't bad and has potential to be even better, it's just that Hunter is in a poor spot.
If not Evo Shammy, then Tempo Rogue - check different decklists, as the dust cost can vary between around 8k up to 12-13k.
Also, Big Druid, but it's dust cost if just fucking crazy (15k and up) with around 10 legendaries in it.

I have the exact amount to craft tempo rogue, I'd have to dust more for evolve shammy.. although I could do a cheaper version of it. It just seems the jade version is way better than token.
I have never really played rogue though so that is very attractive to me right now... also I get to craft the lich king which is a card I'd really like... I may hold back on cairne though, although it seems like a great card for the deck, it would save me a wee bit of dust.
thanks... any thoughts on the rogue deck, should I just craft as is?
PS: I need most of the cards tbh.. I will look into crafting up a cheaper version if I go with that though. I am most likely going to go with rogue though, just not sure whether to craft cairne or not.
how is this looking for an evolve deck, guys please?
That looks like the standard evolve shaman, although you have Acolyte of Pain replacing Mana Tide Totem. Mana Tide is probably better since you get synergy with Thing From Below and you are always guaranteed at least 1 card. So, consider that switch if you aren't getting value from AoP
As far as my recommendation, don't dust DK Rexxar. He is a great addition to just about any hunter deck, and I think with a few more support cards, hunter could have decent mid-range and control option. I generally don't dust ANY legendary, unless they have never really been played.
And in general, it's unwise to craft anything with your dust this close to an expansion release. since there will be 2 legendaries per class, and with decks taking on increasingly larger numbers of legendaries, you will probably need that dust to craft some of the new legendaries. Plus, who knows what the meta will look like after the expansion.
Have patience, and just work with your collection. I usually have more fun trying to get a fun home-brew deck working to rank up a little bit rather than grinding all the way to rank 5 with a deck I'm tired of. And for the last 3 seasons, I've hit rank 5 with tier 2 and tier 3 decks. Currently at rank 7 this season with an "end of your turn" buffadin. Definitely haven't seen it on ladder, and the MVP is Drakkari Enchanter
thank you. I took the "thing(s) from bellow" out for 2x volcano anyway though.
I think I am going to just hold tight for now anyway and keep playing my keleseth taunt-lock.
btw, dude. do you know what card an evolve shaman played to be able to summon a deck full of taunts? I have been looking for what it might have been with no luck so far. It wasn't evolve I don't think (this would have been too lucky anyway IMO) but they summoned an entire row of taunt cards (wasn't all the same minion, all different) and it was game over at this point.
thank you. I took the "thing(s) from bellow" out for 2x volcano anyway though.
I'm not sure you quite 'get' evolve shaman... it's a deck that wants to put a whole bunch of minions on the board and then play evolve. Taking out Thing from Below (excellent in this kind of deck) for Volcano (does the opposite of what this deck wants to do) is making your deck deliberately weaker. Cut the Acolytes, Volcanos, Lightning Storm and Jade Chieftans for Thing from Below, Primalfin Totem, Flametongue Totem, Mana Tide Totem.

thanks. this deck was more about evolving big cost cards with the hero power though. I heard token type decks are not so good for this. I will try this out though.
I got the idea from someone else tbh. rather than using DK thrall in standard evolve deck, this deck focusses more on having big minions that can survive trades in order to be evolved by the hero power... I don't know if it will be as good as standrad evolve decks, but it will get better use out of DK thrall.
PS: also volcano is for when we have no board presence and want to wipe the opponents board. we have no low cost minions here afterall.
it's not a standard evolve deck, it's a deck built for DK thrall to shine, and that is it's only purpose... it's more of theory craft deck than anything really.

I want to keep jade chieftain at least as it's a big card to target with thralls hero power. which of those other cards are more important, please?

Really, if you want to keep your focus on the bigger minions and Thrall's hero power, then just keep the deck as it is. *shrugs*. I think the deck is way weaker than the aggro bloodlust token variant, but you should play the deck that you want to play.

I'm probably not going to craft it just now anyway. saving dust for new expansion. I will try both versions once I can though and see what works best.

Did they play one card to summon all the taunts??
I'm not aware of a card in Shaman that would summon an entire row of taunts. It would either be an evolve off a full board (but it would be incredibly rare to get all evolved taunts). I guess if the Shaman was playing lots of taunts, and then played Lotus Agents and got Hadronox from Druid, this could be possible. Once Hadronox dies, it summons back all your taunts. But that is also a stretch, because you should have remembered your opponent having Hadronox on the board.
My bet is an evolve that just delivered mostly taunts. Maybe your memory isn't quite clear and there were a couple of non-taunt minions in there.

thast sounds about right, must have been hadranox.
does lotus agent give cards from any deck, as I wasn't playing druid, was playing warlock.
I am pretty sure they were all taunts though.. should have took a screen shot.

hey dudes... any chance anyone could help me make a potential jade druid deck, keeping the dust to 5800-6000 using existing cards I have?
I may just wait till after next week when I will have more potential cards to dust and can get the 7k+ I need for the good version of big/jade druid.
how is this looking for an evolve deck, guys please?
It isn't exactly control but it is a sweet and fun C'thun warlock deck.
I would use another card than acolyte for draw in your shaman deck. Obviously manatide totem would be ideal.
