Back with another challenge this season called "Plebstone" with the following rules:
*Only basic/common cards allowed
*NO ADVENTURES (exception for cards like Firelands Portal since it is from the Prologue to Karazhan which is FREE to all players!)
The goal is to design some decks that a fresh player can craft within a couple days of starting Hearthstone. The hope is that these will be high enough quality to reach rank 5 at least, but this will have to be play-tested more extensively to see if they can compete with the tier 1 meta decks.
The purpose is really to promote some community contributions to benefit F2P and new players, and all of these lists should really be treated as templates and not final forms. I really like hearing suggestions for card replacements in the comments and seeing people experiment on their own. I'd love to see others post their own Plebstone decks also!
I'm fairly happy with the performance of the mage and priest lists and think those can get rank 5+, but I'm still tweaking the others. Really looking forward to seeing what the Hearthpwn community can come up with! :)
Unfortunately it was explained to me that one cannot craft the adventure cards, so I had to remove Kindly Grandmothers with great regret. Gonna keep testing tonight. Will keep updating it here and once I get an iteration working I'll post my win rate in the deck description.
Just wanted to say thank you for this thread, absolutely love it, got me back to playing HS again. I find it tiresome to play one deck all the time, but can't afford multiple constructed decks or... well, with these restrictions I can. Planning to make one for each class, looking forward to some comments.
Are common cards from Karazhan allowed? If I understand your original post correctly, then they aren't. Imo they should be, after all you can craft them and it costs only as much as a card from an expansion set. If anything they are easier to get as you can get them alternatively when unlocking adventure content.
You cannot craft cards from adventures, while it isn't in wild. 🤔
Damn, didn't realize. That sucks. Thanks for the info.
Yeah, if you cannot craft it then it becomes very expensive to acquire even though it may look like a "common" card. Great to see all the contributions though! I need to track some stats and update the guides too as I test.
Discover is actually really powerful for F2P decks because they can give you some more expensive cards, but Netherspite Historian is from an adventure so it's expensive to acquire and not allowed.

Here are some of mine:

Awesome! Thanks for contributing and glad you'll keep following up also :) I will do the same and try to keep things updated.
Nice to see that some people are doing this sort of thing to help new players or players that play on a budget, good job. :)
Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.

I'll change my region to test decks, this is mine
I really love this idea. I don't have anything to contribute other than my thanks for you guys making it easier to get my friends into HS.
Are cards like Netherspite Historian and Kabal Chemist legal? since they can give you cards that aren't common.
Scratching Epitaphs on Nameless Graves.
If you pick hunter, you can even do this whole challenge with basic cards only. I tried it: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/950943-plebstone-basic-hunter
(Dunno how to embbed a deck into a post, sorry)
Is C'thun legal?
