I have got a deck idea that can bring some new life to this meta and hopefully make a working hunter deck! But I need some help to perfect it! right now it is in a raw state with very little game testing. I need help form experienced Hunter players with tips on what i can put in and what i should remove from the deck.
Too many secrets. If youre going to play secrets might as well play prof putricide. Max five I would say, also secrets that effect the board are better than, say, explosive trap.
ditch the Kindly Grandmothers. That card has only become worse over time and is vurrently pretty awful against priests who can just steal it for 1 mana to get an easy 3/2
also, play Dead seems overly greedy in a deck that, even with the Grannys, only has 5 deathrattles, 3 of which are 6 mana cards.
Also, what exactly is the point of your deck? Like, how do you finish your opponents. Barnes shenanigans aren't enough, especially if you are playing Hunter who has no proper draw at all.
This is basically a HUnter version of Big Priest...and Big priest is only good because it can also resurrect the big minions it summoned.
Explosive and Freezing won't be good enough as control tools for the early game. Too many decks have 3-health minions these days.
I really don't want you to stop creating decks, but this one just won't work consistently at all. If you're gonna take the Deathrattle approach you need to ditch the secrets and just focus on minions...and if you really want secrets then you need to make it a lot more aggro.
Y'shaaarj in Hunter was a meme during Kharazan when you still had Lock and Load, but now it's just awful
I don't really understand what that deck is meant to be, are you going for a secret-tempo deck or more of a value N'zoth one? Y'sharrj + N'zoth is kinda counterproductive aswell. I'd say you should do these changes

Thanks for the input! Im taking your advice into consideration and will adjust the number of secrets.

Thanks for your input! I will try and ditch the grandmothers then. This will also narrow down the options for tracker and barnes. with even less DRs i will cut play dead. The One thing this has that priest does not is 3 cards that can secure a turn 4 Barnes compared to priest that only has 1 chance to draw barnes or wait until turn 6 for the 5/5 copy spell. This deck also has the opportunity for 3xBarnes or 3xN'zoth. Y'shaarj is the goddraw from barnes that can win you the game turn 4 if Ysha draws Ysha. The problem is to make the "misses" also be good.
I don't really understand what that deck is meant to be, are you going for a secret-tempo deck or more of a value N'zoth one? Y'sharrj + N'zoth is kinda counterproductive aswell. I'd say you should do these changes
+ yogg, +1 call of the wild, +2 cloaked huntress, +1 rexxar, +1 putricide, +1 snipe, +1 freezing
The Idea is to play barnes on turn 4. You mulligan hard for Barnes or trackers. thats a pretty high chance to draw 1 of the 3. and trackers have 20% chance ( with revised decklist) to draw a barnes. N'zoth gets weaker the less DRs you have in the deck. It has to be wayed if you want higher chance to bring out better stuff with barnes or more DRs to revive with N'zoth.
Good luck! I appreciate anybody who tries to breathe life in a META.
Thanks for the tips! I really like Abominable bowman! but then I need to bring in some kind of beast? maybe incorporate king crush somehow? Im not ready to cut barnes out, that means turning this idea into something new. Im sure there are other combos that also work well if you just put your mind into it.
Okay, so I started with your original version for about 10-15 games, but it was pretty bad. Games were over too fast that N'Zoth couldn't be played most times. Or, when Y'shaarj pulls N'Zoth you are kinda screwed. Yes, it's a big body, but you lose out on the battlecry. And there really weren't enough taunts to justify him.
So, he was pulled out along with the Kindly Grandmothers. I tried to keep Cairne in for a few more games, but he was also too slow and I didn't see much benefit to him with N'Zoth being out (although he was a good pull for Barnes).
So, then I just tried to focus on getting maximum value from Barnes, which meant trying to get more "end of your turn" minions in play. In came Ysera, Lich King, and a Cobalt Scalebane (only one as there are better Barnes pulls). I also put in Rexxar DeathKnight, as he helped to shore up mid and late game with his build a beast power and some armor.
I later added in a Flare to deal with pesky Mages (and there are a lot on ladder right now). Basically a keep if you are going against mage, but mulligan away in most other circumstances.
And here is the end result. It got me out of rank 15 (Barnes pulled Y'shaarj who pulled Lich King out to stop lethal by the druid on turn 5. Turn 6 living mana. DK Rexxar cleared the living mana on turn 6 from the Druid)a nd I'm still seeing it's potential as I learn how to better play it.

Thanks for your Input and for playtesting! Yeah Im also rank 15 and tried some changes similar to the ones you speak of earlier today. I added Lich King and changed some spells. I will try and add Ysera too and see how that does. Cobalt is interesting tho, how well did he help really? I dont have the DK but i bet he is really useful in this deck. I havent played much with Grievous Bite how good would you rate that card? feels like most things has 3 hp nowadays.
Cobalt was working okay, but I subbed him out this morning to see if things get better (put in another multi-shot since there are only 2 other 4-mana cards). I just wish we could pull Y'shaarj more reliably, but taking out any more minions kind of kills the deck. I literally had him in my opening hand after mulliganing about 10 out of 20 of my first attempts
Grievous Bite has been working okay. Helps against Pirate Warrior's early start, and can sometimes be coined out to take down a 1 mana 2 health minion (Druid's Raven or the Murloc tidecaller). Yes, 3 hp is tough, but I've also used it to soften up targets that I will taken down next turn with DK Rexxar.
I was rank 14 2 stars but I've fallen back to rank 15 right now. Still, I feel this deck has some potential so I'll keep trying.
It's not a new idea, if you look at premade decks in the game, Deathrattle Hunter is one of those decks, so you can take premade decks and replace cards. Your deck is too gready, and never put N'zoth and Y'share together.
BTW, from my first tests, this kind of decks might be meta definining. However, I'm missing few key cards as F2P and have no dust.
And after 50+ games last night, I couldn't make this work. Eventually tried subbing out one of the trackers since Barnes would summon them or you would just have to choose another tracker from your tracker (which results in an infinite loop that gets worse as the mana cost increases). The helped for a bit and I got back to rank 14 - 2 stars, but then fell all the way back to the wall at Rank 15.
Agro decks are strong against this, since you aren't playing minions and have to rely on your spells and secrets (which don't always work as intended). Plus, you don't have any healing available besides the armor from DK Rexxar, a card from the Lich King to heal 5, and building a beast with lifesteal.
Control decks usually outvalue you as well (Big Priest can keep ressurecting and Jade Druid just gets stronger the longer the game goes on).
So, while this deck can be fun when you make it work, it won't be meta-viable.
In only 5 games with Evolve Shaman (most ending before turn 9), I was back to Rank 14 - 2 stars. So, until we start getting solid win streaks off a Hunter deck like you proposed, this concept is not ladder-friendly.

I created a fun Hunter deck even without N'zoth which uses two Devilsaur Egg and one Meat Wagon and just pops those 5/5 minions with its Play Dead etc.... It works well against Mages, great against Warlocks but terrible against Priests especially against Big Priest since it can take your Egg temporary and then kill it and than he gets 5/5.... game over.. Since Priest is new meta that idea won't work (I actually tried it around Rank 10), but Hunter with quality beasts and few quality deathrattle minions like Cairne Bloodhoof can probably stand enough for N'zoth... for card draw you probably can use Tracking and that new Discover copy hunter Minion (which handily can discover you a copies of Cairne or N'zoth itself). Hunter can probably stand until turn 10 in this meta. However Infested Tauren is something which you don't want to play against Priest and that is the resummonable taunt here. You can use Cult Master to draw from cheap and playable Beasts)
I'm missing Stiched Tracker on my USA account to try this, I'm F2P and my USA account has N'zoth (playing on two accounts).

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
I don't really understand what that deck is meant to be, are you going for a secret-tempo deck or more of a value N'zoth one? Y'sharrj + N'zoth is kinda counterproductive aswell. I'd say you should do these changes
- ysharrj, -2 play dead, -2 venostrike trap, -1 snake trap, -barnes
+ yogg, +1 call of the wild, +2 cloaked huntress, +1 rexxar, +1 putricide, +1 snipe, +1 freezing

Maybe remove Barnes? It's not really worth it unless every single option gives you crazy value. Having a Stitched Tracker in there ruins his potential. Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound seems a bit too much as well. Maybe, Corpse Widow or Abominable Bowman?
Good luck! I appreciate anybody who tries to breathe life in a META.

I'm sure it can work at least in tier 2.
