The tittle says it all, i feel like got no luck with the packs i buyed (like 20) and im really short of cards to get a decent deck, im 3 stars diamond with a decent basic priest but i just feel like i got that rank because priest is so OP, with shaman i only got like platinum 3 stars, i wanted to craft another lava burst storm forked elemental earth lightning bolt but is just a hell of expensive in dust this is the reason of the thread, how yo deal with this situatuion witouth being broke in real life.
Thanks in advance, (english is not my native language btw >.<)
To get ahead in this game there are basically only 2 ways: real money, or time. If you have no real money to spend then the only road open to you is time. Do your dailies, get your wins and slowly but surely get your collection to a level where you have the cards you want. Depending on how good and how lucky you are in the game you can substitute buying packs for playing Arena, but in the end you'll need time to get what you want.
There's no shame in not wanting to spend money on Hearthstone, or not having the money to spend on Hearthstone to get that instant easy access to a load of cards, many people will play the game this way, and the'll be able to enjoy the game just as much as if they WERE paying.

Yeah, maybe if the packs were cheaper, imo they are too expensive 3$ for 10 cards is just too much considering you are getting thrash cards most of the time and getting 5dust per card when you need to expend like 100 on a decent card, that makes me sad, i love the game tho and will be playing more, almost priest to get more rank because is super expensive to get a decent shaman deck
I for one, have no money to spend in the game, and I'm treading the grind road on my own. Few things I learned on my own:
- Try to complete your quests on a daily basis (that goes without saying).
- Playing arena with 150g is better than buying 1 pack, since if you win at least 7 times, you'll be refunded your entry cost of 150g and, therefore, will have won a free pack.
- If you want to spend money (which I was able to, once), you either spend it on arena entries (cheaper than single ou double packs) or on 7 packs or more at one time (7+ packs comes at a individual price per pack lower than the arena entry fee), though I'd still prefer playing arena for the bonus chance of getting 150g or more so you can get another entry and win another pack.
- Most importantly: First, focus on neutral minions that can help pretty much ALL decks, like azure drake and argent commander. Once you're done with most of them, and you already have some experience with ALL classes, than pick one or two classes that you absolutely hate, and disenchant everything you have of them (my first hate pick was for shaman, and I got a lot of dust for disenchanting cards like ancestral spirit and rock elemental). Also, don't pick all the classes except one or two. Try to have at least six different decks from all classes, or you'll have some trouble dealing with quests that ask you for specific class-based victories.
And when it comes about luck, I know how you feel: I'm also extremely unlucky myself. I've entered arena about 12 times by now and only once I could play a legendary card. And I'm yet to see a legendary pop out from a pack. :(
Craft Jepetto Hunter. The best way to get gold is to get really good at arena, every pack becomes a free one if you get 7 wins. Then you start rolling and your 150 gold manifests itself into much much more.
