So, you aren't royally screwed, because you're in the top 30 out of ~200, but still not in a great place for making the finals.
Foonote: Calculations probably aren't 100% accurate due to changes in votes since gathering the data, not getting the disqualification list 100% accurate, and the possibility that the mods combine the last two pages.
This makes me want a plug in / external site that always shows the current ranking.
I don't think it would be that hard to do, but I don't know how to code website stuff. For my code, I manually save the source code for each page in the competition to my computer, load the text into Python, and extract the scores that way. It's a lot easier than writing down each score by hand, but still enough of a bother that I don't use the code that often any more.

That sounds like a really good idea, saving this source code and stuff.
I'm quite surprised that CheeseETC's Megagma Rager isn't first. Also, it's quite obvious to tell the advantage of posting on the later page. Three of the top 12 (An average # of finalists) are from the last page. Of the top 5, four of them are on the last three pages. I think CheeseETC's was much more popular among voters than Sinti's card, but due to some imbalance in the current point system, Sinti is given the advantage. (No offense/personal preferences intended; just observations) This has been previously stated by someone (I forgot who), but I believe that a group of judges should be chosen to choose a few additional wildcards... maybe have the finalists be 1/2 from the points, and 1/2 from judges? I'm not sure, this is for the mods (Hi Shadows, howya doin?) to decide.
Yeah, as you can tell from the quality of pun, I've had a horrible day. Then again, I did make a textless 7 mana 0/25 minion. I probably deserve being cursed by the Hearthstone gods. Oh side question. Do y'all think Hearthstone should be monotheistic, polytheistic, or animistic? I'm talking about capital-g gods, as in like actual formless concepts (ex. The Cristo-Judaic God or Hinduism's Lord Vishnu), not just false idols like C'Thun or Emrakul.
Depends on your definition of "God". Warcraft lore contains a plethora of mythological cultures containing a "god" or "gods". They are all correct.

Shadow analyzed this, and there actually isn't the big disadvantage of posting on the first page that people thinks there is. Also part of the reason that there aren't more wildcards is that is not because people don't pick them, actually. I've talked to the mods about it, and they often end up saying, "I want this card to advance to the finals! It's my wild card," and it ends up that card had enough points to advance on its own anyway, so their wild card gets wasted. In order to avoid this, you have to analyze the scores beforehand and pick a card that isn't in the top 20 as your wildcard, which can be a lot of work. I made sure to do this for my theme, but I don't think many people do, and the mods are probably sick of picking wildcards that were already going to be finalists anyway.
Anyway, we should probably save these kinds of discussions until the Feedback Thread in a few weeks.
Just as a heads up - although one of the rules this week was to make your card a Common, we won't be disqualifying cards that don't 'feel' Common. As much as I dislike all the Giants running around pretending they shouldn't be Epics, if it has a Common gem, it's a legal card.

What about Loku the Priest? This is very clearly a Legendary with a Common gem. Commons do not have proper names.

In that particular case, Hearthcards rule strikes it out. In general, cards with proper names won't be disqualified. Jeeves is the sticking point there. The Commonness of a card is for the voters to decide on.

So, I've calculated the scores of previous competitions, and your card needs to receive a score of 2.5 or better to proceed to the finals (on average).
Which means I'm royally screwed XD.
According to my calculations this is what the top 30 currently look like:
So I'm about rank 15? There's usually 12 or 16 finalists...which means I'm either in, or out* >_> The tension! C'Thun will see me through; I have faith in you, Dark One!
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3

Well I guess we're all in that position lol.
I suppose it can't hurt to tell you, since it would be fairly easy to figure out - we'll be taking 20 non-Wildcard finalists this time. There's around 170 legal entries. I was looking over the data I collected when looking into the 'Page One Problem', and the last times we had ~170 entries we only took 16 finalists; we also had two pages with no finalist in both cases. I'm hoping that by erring on the side of rounding up for finalists, we'll more often avoid situations where nobody on a page makes it.

So maybe always having 20 entries would also be a good solution? Do you still have that data and could check if all pages would be represented if we have a fixed 20 entries?

Eh, there's always next time. :D (There's also the Completely Professional Review! I look forward to making that!)

It would reduce the amount for some weeks, but for others it would do nothing. The week we had no finalist from Page 1 and 2, for example, the highest entries from each page were 21st and 23rd, respectively. The week that we had three pages miss out we actually took 21 finalists! It is certainly something we could consider implementing, though, since there are definitely weeks where some pages just missed out, with the highest entry from the page being in the high teens.

You're going to make me re-tune it all at some point, aren't you?
Still need to finish other tasks that should have been finished a couple months ago. Yay stuff.

For that particular idea? No re-tuning needed. For some of the other ideas people have come up with... maybe =P Depends on if we end up deciding we need them.
And hey, we're a hell of a lot closer on the other stuff than we were a while ago. Progress!

On moonless nights, the mods congregate at a forgotten altar in a nameless wood and are given unspeakable tasks by their Lord and Master Shub-Niggurath, the Goat with a Thousand Young. If you value your sanity, it is best not to inquire too deeply. Once the veil of reality is pulled back, there is no closing it.
