We've whittled down our entrants to just 4 surviving expansions. While in previous rounds we've asked you to select your favourites from all the wonderful submitted expansions, this time, we're looking for you to select just one expansion that you think should be crowned the winner!
Below you will find the finalists, along with 10 example cards from their 84 card expansions which they think best represent the expansion. Additionally, a brief explanation of new mechanics is provided. Click the expansion name to be taken to their individual finale topic, where you can see all their cards, as well as in-depth explanations into their expansion's lore and new mechanics.
Good luck to all the competitors, and may the best expansion win!
Voodoo is a dark and powerful form of magic practiced by the shadowhunters, hexxers, and witch doctors. The trolls' use of mojo in their voodoo magic has long been established. Drinking blood provides power, the darkest of voodoo. Shadowhunters are masters of voodoo magics who can use their spirit-powers to both heal their allies and place curses upon their hapless enemies.
The UI (user interface) when you play a card with Voodoo is like the Choose One cards UI. You pick one side and that's the effect you get. Some Voodoo add new effects and some replace the base effect (all ended in instead). Druid's Voodoo cards are special ones because they let you combine both effects in a Choose One card, like with Fandral Staghelm.
Remember: you can die if you don't have enough Health and you activate the Voodoo side of the card!
Chilled minions have a shimmering light blue mist surrounding their token. The Chill takes place at the end of each player's turn. This mechanic encourages trading; it's not often that a Chilled minion will last long enough on board to accumulate a ton of damage from the Chill effect. Also, it should be noted that a Chilled minion is being debuffed, NOT damaged - and thus won't trigger Enrage and damaged minion synergy.
- Warm -
Examples of this currently in the game are Shifter Zerus and Molten Blade. Like these cards, your opponent will not see the trigger take place, the trigger will occur before the card is drawn to start your turn, and cards kept in your mulligan WILL warm on turn one.
Here's how Molten Blade looks with the new keyword text:
The sun icon tracks the number of turns a card has Warmed. In this example, Blossoming Nymph has been kept in hand for 3 turns and is buffed to 4 health. The icon doesn't appear on a card until the Warm count is at 1 or more.
Huge shoutout to ZardozSpeaks for helping me with this graphic!!
In Showdown at the Battlegrounds cards will interact with Horde and Alliance faction symbols showed on the upper left corner on minion cards. These interactions can either be positive or negative depending on what faction is used. Interactions are based on rivalry between factions and teamwork within factions. Both factions have a unique mechanic:
Alliance uses a mechanic called Sequencing. It offers a bonus when a card is played as the X'th card a turn.
Horde uses a mechanic called Ordering. It offers a bonus to the next Horde minion you play.
Both the Sequencing and Ordering mechanic depict war strategies that could be used in WoW battlegrounds.
Faction Neutral
Neutral faction minions can synergies with both factions. The can either use cards that Hate both factions, Buff both factions or Join a faction. The Join a faction mechanic is particularly interesting because it provides different bonuses depending on which faction the minion joins. In game, the Join a faction mechanic is used as a Choose One.
Fear is the new Keyword in Hallow's End. It is a temporary debuff that affects minions, reducing their Attack. Just like Freeze, it lasts until after the minion is able to attack. Fear can be used to slow down the game and prevent enemies from attacking, or take the teeth out of a big threat to set up combos and favorable trades.
Is there a particular reason this poll is single choice instead of multiple choice like the others? I went to vote for everyone again, then before I voted realized it was only single choice. All of these sets are just fantastic and in the event they were ever implemented in the game, would have lots of potential to be some of the best sets in the game. This competition was very interesting because we all came up with our own ideas and cards and while we were competing and we all wanted to win this, at the same time though, we all came together and helped us make some really awesome sets and if it weren't for the feedback and help I received from this, I definitely wouldn't have made it to Phase IV so while it was a competition, it was also a collaboration at the same time.

The Final Poll for these big competitions is always single choice. It's always hard to pick just one, but, with only four, you're forced to make a meaningful choice.
Is there a particular reason this poll is single choice instead of multiple choice like the others?
In all seriousness though, I really want to vote for all of these expansions because they're just so good!
The Servitors of the Loa encourages skill-intensive plays with its Voodoo mechanic, and it has one of the coolest cycles in Hearthstone: The Loa Gods! Each of which are depicted vividly by the class sets.
The Great Thaw beautifully portrays the Spring and Winter clash with its 2 well-designed keywords: Warm and Chill. Both of them encourage a slower meta and some tough decisions!
Showdown at the Battlegrounds has some of the coolest ideas I've ever seen, and it matches perfectly with the expansion's theme. Plus, all of the Faction mechanics are organized appropriately in certain classes, and it totally boosts the aesthetics!
Hallow's End's terrifying yet fun flavour is just on point, and the Fear keyword is a great Control tool! The Candies and the Sinister Squashlings are a nice touch as well!
I think I'll vote by not voting at all. That's technically the same thing as voting for all of them right? XD
I've been really busy this summer, so I haven't been keeping up with the competition. I have some time now, so I'm taking a real look at these expansions basically for the first time. And I gotta say, Bubble Gum? OMG, I love it! You've got my vote, sir!
If only I was as cool enough to get a hero card for myself...
Anyway, I voted for Livienna. Why? Because I can and nobody can stop me... Except maybe like the mods... and if Livienna somehow forces me to change my vote by threatening to run Mill Murloc Hunter in the ladder... somehow
Wow, I might have to make 3 separate accounts so I can vote for everybody xD I CANT HANDLE THIS MUCH AWESOME
Voting for no one will have the same effect as voting for everyone, but I don't blame you either way. I don't want to pick just one of these sets to win.

I haven't commented much on the expansions, but have been following them on the sideline. These four are all amazing and truly deserving of being in the final. If I had to choose one, and I will, I'll have to go with Razor's. The Voodoo mechanic is just so simple, yet well thought of, elegant, and it's one of those ideas I'm really jealous about not thinking of myself. Again, kudos to all of you, but one tiny extra kudos to Razor!
If it wins, I'll bet there'll be a special competition making a Voodoo card. You'll have to teach us how to do implement the Voodoo health icon ;)

Go to Hearthcards and click at "More" at the very bottom of the type selection area. Then click "Add Health under the Mana Cost" and insert your card's Hearthcards URL and Health cost.
