These are a series of Threads made as a challenge for myself. I am a Game Designer, and my goal and practice is to create a custom Hearthstone card everyday of Every week of EVERY YEAR. Until I shut this down. But that wont be for a while.

This is the first 5 weeks of cards, before the Thread a Week was implemented.

Please do not post cards that have no intent of doing with the discussion of my cards, But you may create and post any cards that do have to do with the discussion, including balances to my proposed cards.
If nothing else, this will be a place for me to store my cards for a bit and to challenge myself.

I thought this was a neat design that seemed like it would be A lot of fun to play. I feel like it's balanced because the card it creates is almost like Journey Below in many Cases. It might be a little Over-tuned and should be a 2/1. But the 2/2 feels good. I think A death rattle Archetype in Rouge would be fun and Healthy for the class. Thoughts?

Looks good for your first card! You might however want to change the text on the spell. It's a "friendly minion" not "ally minion", so the text should be in the end like this: "Add a copy of the last friendly minion that died to your hand."

Seems like an interesting card but you should always compare current text on existing cardsto the ones you're creating. In this case, return from below should say "friendly" minion and not "ally"

Thanks for the immediate support and discussion guys! Quicker than I expected. I changed Return from Below so that it costs 2 now and says friendly instead of ally. I think that this synergizing with Gadgetzan Auctioneer is ok, but the cost is to low for the value it creates. Im purposefully not designing around The Caverns Below because that card is a heaping pile of design trash that will get in the way of future Hearthstone design anyhow. Mark my words, if they don't change it now, they will later saying it limits design space. Literally, don't get me started. Sometimes I feels as though there are no rouge players at Blizzard HQ.

In addition, now I've changed the minion itself. I've removed stealth. This is for a few reasons. It tunes down the minion, because the value it brings makes it up. Secondly, this Actually makes it way more interesting to play with AND Against.
Imagine this drops on your opponents board, additionally already with a few other minions. You have a board clear, but clearing like that will trigger the minion that was played last to die last, making a 2/2 that creates a 2/2 again. Maybe you don't want that. Or maybe they play a minion after the Raven that will die to a Clear that will be too powerful. Or maybe you just have to trade in the correct order. It creates a lot of interesting ways to play with / around it, and therefore is very interactive to play against, because infinite 2/2s on a miracle deck might be a bit much.
But is it to under-powered now with the spell costing 2 as well? Im choosing again to ignore The Caverns Below. I just.. I just can't.

See here is my issue with making it cost one. In the early game, this acts like on average a 0/6 taunt that's legendary. Would you play a 0/6 legendary taunt for 0 mana? And in the late game, it really just acts like a legendary 0 mana freeze three minions, or they have to waste a spell. It almost will never survive more than one turn anyhow. But in warlock and priest its really good. So maybe is should be a 1 mana 0/4?
My original goal was to make a 0 mana legendary, caus that seemed fun.

I like the design a lot as it is my thought process on this however is if you don't have a way to kill this minion or the board that doesn't require causing damage (i.e. Polymorph, Siphon Soul, Naturalize, Brawl, etc.) I can see this card then massively making quest warrior broken or even maybe exodia mage or other decks of the sort. Taunt warrior and the stall mechanics for mage are already pretty good but if you play Shao Hao behind any taunt and they can't remove it you could effectively have a forever wall. Which also makes me think another problem with this card could be that it has the potential to make games drag on for much long even if you go to fatigue (granted probably very rare cases with this card) in the worst case scenario you could both be sitting there taking 1 damage forever no matter how great the fatigue. My thoughts on this are very situational and probably have a low chance of happening but maybe making it cost 1 mana could balance the chances I mentioned slightly. Maybe also consider having it make everything but itself take 1 damage at a time that way it is still possible to deal with it by normal means. It is definitely a stronger card than animated armor by far at the moment but in the situations I mentioned and maybe others it could be disastrously good.
I think this card has such wide spreading effects that its hard to wall of its power effectively. Im considering Now Making it a class card. In the correct class, this fixes a lot of the problems you stated. I think a cost increase is also warranted. I think warrior, warlock, Paladin and mage are the classes that can create real issues with this card. Maybe it belongs in just priest. I think in druid it would also be good. Im not sure which to chose tho, and i would rather have this be neutral but im not sure how to do that.

I like the art a lot and I could definitely see it as a Priest or Druid class, even Shaman but I would worry about priest just because of the health buffs and healing. The other worry I see is, once again in a very situational example, if the games goes to fatigue and you're against a Druid or Warrior let's say, no cards left able to be played it would never end because you would out heal fatigue damage and they would as well with their armor. But once again very situational and probably would not happen but is still a worry. I think with Druid or Shaman it could definitely be good but not overly powerful. It would help a Shaman keep a board and make control decks much better for them where for druid it could possibly be made into some interesting combos. However a card like this being neutral would not be a bad idea as well to keep because that could bring back some tech cards that we have not seen played since nerf like Ironbeak Owl. Would be nice to see that again and like you mentioned would probably bring about a lot more control decks.
This Might Fix a lot of the issues we have. Basically, the idea is that this minion will run itself out eventually, so the infinite problem with mage and warrior is taken care of. Priest, can keep it alive forever potentially, but that's a 2 mana investment every turn forever. Against an agro deck that now will be playing to build up a board, that's a Huge investment. I'm ok with this going into fatigue, because that's just funny if it survives to the end of the game and you surrender at that point. What im still debating about is the health and mana. I tried making it 7 health for theme, but that gives way to much time, 3 whole enemy turns with reduced damage. And 4 friendly turns to buff it. At 5 health, there are 2 enemy turns and 3 friendly turns. Also to note is the odd number means your opponent always gets the first turn when this dies if they only deal even amounts of damage to it. The mana, i want to make a 0 mana legendary, and i don't know if I'm to attached to that, and if this would truly be better at 1 mana or more.

I was in helping on the last card, and I will help you out on this one.
Let's start with the wording. The wording should instead of saying "All heroes and minions take only 1 damage at a time." to "All characters can only take 1 damage at a time." If you didn't notice, we took words from Hellfire and Animated Armor. This clears up some space on the card text.
Now for balance. For this instance, we will compare this to Animated Armor. Armor is a (4) 4/4 with a neat effect. Since your card is a Legendary and a neutral with a similar effect but also has a drawback, I suggest putting it between 2 or 3 mana. For the health, putting it on 5 is okay, because the effect will eventually slowly kill him, as well as the opponent will likely remove it as it gets to to 4 health, as it will die anyway. Putting it on 6 is a bit harder to kill, and that is not so good. And on 4 Health, it's very weak. So it's okay to put him on 5 Health.
