Welcome to the Grand Finale!

Yes, after two and a half months, we on the Hearthpwn Fan Creation Forum have finally reached the conclusion of our third Class Creation Competition. Only 4 finalists remain out of over 120 initial entries, and now it's up to you to vote on who will be the ultimate victor. Our finalist classes are below represented by their Hero Portrait, Hero Power, and 8 example cards. You may only vote for one.

Why are the hero power tokens in a spoiler? It barely adds any extra space having them out in the open, and it's necessary to understand the hero powers to look at them, so it's just going to confuse new people. Plus, it lines up weird with the rest of the post since it's left-adjusted.

I wanted to offset them so they wouldn't be mistaken for collectible cards. If you think it's weird though, let me try something different real quick and see how it works...

Formatting out of the way, I want to congratulate all of the finalists on making such awesome entries. I still haven't even decided who I'm going to vote for because I genuinely love all four of these classes. I'll be happy with how this competition went no matter who wins, and I think you and all of the other participants for making my last competition here as a mod an awesome one! ^_^

Congratulations to all who reached to the finals! I absolute love the classes! I really appreciate the finalists!

1 Thing only.. the ones that will be pretty close on votes should be Worgen and Flame Weilder... I´m 100% sure... betting moar for prediction master.

This competition has been fairly new for me and other´s, reaching phase II was an honour of me to continue this journey, beign 1st time "qualified" also for other´s wich maybe have been their first time... it has been a hard work... a hard way up to get it... Ayslum putted some obstacles in your way guys... but no matter what YOU PASSED THROUGH IT! Congratulations guys for beign finalists! Max had a message to share with all of you guys... Dang it... I can no longer copy paste from imgur... I´ll have to write it..., if someone knows a way to fix it...

"Congratulations to all of you guys! Personally... I would put it in the next Ayslum Industries Newspaper! I´m too lazy of too much work you have done guys... but.. *sigh* I´ll try! You have been really great! Great quality! All of them are perfect! I´m a bit sad that I didn´t qualify even further.. that would be great... but you guys made it...  you guys made a lot of work with your classes... and that deserves to be posted on Ayslum Industries!"

Here's a little personal and subjective review:

Class identity and playstyle:
1. Worgen. I love the Worgen/Human idea and it's beautifully implemented.
1tied. Alchemist. I'd really like to try playing this class and mess with the potions.
3. Chronomancer. I don't think it's less good, but doesn't speak to me as much as the two above.
4. Flame Wielder. I'm not a fan of the Ragers idea, although I'd be curious to see how the class would play.
Of course, I'd really love to play them all.

Originality and risk-taking:
1. Flame Wielder. Both in synergizing with crappy cards (the Ragers) and toeing the line between aggro and control.
2. Chronomancer. Manages to explore a lot of new territory without the use of a new keyword.
3. Alchemist. Same remark as Chronomancer, but maybe slightly less 'surprising' in the outcome.
4. Worgen. Apart from the two forms (which is already a big deal), it feels less original than the other classes.
Yes ok, it's exactly the reverse order than point #1. I wonder if it means something...

Art and flavor:
1. Chronomancer. Great flavor, great art.
2. Worgen. I'm less into the art, but flavor is through the roof.
3. Alchemist. Very consistent in both art and flavor, but lacks a little something special, I don't know.
4. Flame Wielder. The flavor is real but I really don't dig the art. Too much red for me.
Of course, this is certainly the most subjective of all my points...

Finalist topic:
1. Alchemist. I love how everything is carefully laid for the reader. It really helps get into the class. And there are even deck examples!
2. Worgen. Less shiny but I like the organization by type and the FAQ.
3. Chronomancer. Classification by set (only) is my least favorite one. Scores points with the shiny (and useful) focus boards, though.
4. Flame Wielder. I'd have loved a spoiler listing all cards belonging to each focus. I feel the showcasing is neat, but not enough.

Balance:
Who am I kidding? I have no idea. I've been consistently taking part in card creation competition with the most abysmal results of all the forum users xD I'll trust the others on this one!

Final scores (the fewer, the better):
Alchemist: 1+3+3+1 = 8 points
Worgen: 1+4+2+2 = 9 points
Chronomancer: 3+2+1+3 = 9 points
Flame Wielder: 4+1+4+4 = 13 points
Hmm I think it reflects my empiric point of view pretty well. I feel sorry for the Flame Wielder, which is a real tour de force, but, even though I'd love to try the class in game, I don't dig is as much as the other three. I guess I'm going to vote for the Alchemist, but that was a close one.

I understand your concern though (it would be unfair to be judged on photoshop skills), but I don't understand why you're worrying... you're rated second in this category behind nobravery and before thepowrofcheese shiny boards. I value the layout much more than the visual aspect itself, and your layout was second in my opinion. Not because nobravery used photoshop, but because he took a lot of pain to present his topic under multiple facets.

I agree the 'less shiny' wasn't the right way to put it though. I think I should change it to 'less exhaustive'? 'less impressive'? I don't know... sometimes the more subtle nuances of the English language still elude me, sorry :-/

I'm a bit frustrated that this finale post has less replies than any one of those WDC final polls...

I was originally going to vote for the Alchemist, but I much prefer the Chronomancers approach to Gadgetzan and more recent expansions in general, so that's who I voted for.
