It's time to bring back Design Duels. For those who have not seen any of the previous threads, these Design Duels are always a 1v1 design competition between two anonymous players. The two competitors don't even know each other. For those who like to compete in one of these, simply send me a PM and I will set you up for a match. Lately I have been trying to do 2 duels at the same time, one New Comer Design Duel (for those who have not done a design duel before) and a Veteran Design Duel. Anyone entering duels for the first time is automatically a New Comer, but once you've completed your first New Comer match you're bumped into veteran status. If you are interested in joining a duel, just send me a PM and I will add you to the queue. Now for Veteran Design Duel #5:
Prompt: Design a neutral minion that gives a weapon
Voted for 2, the Battle-Crazed Duelist. I like its potential to destroy an opponent's big weapon. It also makes running Acidic Swamp Ooze or Harrison Jones a better bet. We've seen cards like Hungry Dragon, this seems like low hanging fruit that should already be in the game. Its a neat way to discount an over-statted minion.
Shadowpan Monk is fine, but not particularly exciting or well written. It'd be nice to see the Shadow Blades effect written on the monk, but the effect is too long too fit. I'm not sure I like the wording "exchange against", "exchange for" would be better, but it should really be worded as a conditional statement: "If you have a weapon equipped, replace it with...".

This is pretty much everything I was going to say. Other possible wording for the Shadowpan Monk could have been "Transform your weapon into..." since we haven't yet seem transform effects for weapons. Either way though, the Battle-Crazed Duelist is more interesting and more authentically designed.
Voted #2. Voted for concept. Would synergize well with Armorsmith and other similar cards, in addition to the things stated above. Also would be fantastic for priest, since you could pump up its health and force hard removal (your opponent isn't gonna want to hit that too many times).
My main problem with #1 is that it's just not that interesting. It gets bonus points for being able to deal significantly more damage to minions, but not heroes, but that's about it.
One thing I like about Battlecrazed Duelist is that I can imagine it going in lots of control decks that wanted to counter weapons with tempo plays. If it was a classic card, it'd probably go in and out of style as the expansions change, floating from one class to another. Check out Broeck1's Monk entry in this weeks card contest, it does a similar thing with swapping weapons, and as a tri class card it could go into lots of different decks.
BUT, maybe Battlecrazed Duelist should be a warrior card? It does create a Battle Axe after all, which is a warrior token weapon. Being a class card might have some implications, but I can't think of any. Of course, this card could always generate its own new token weapon, but I could also see an arguement that giving your opponent a weapon is a very 'warrior type thing to do'. You could imagine variants in other classes, like a Rogue card that steals a weapon, or a warlock card which curses a weapon.
Seems like there could be some fun design space around weapons thats not being used. Anyway, I think Battle Crazed Duelist is a great card, it gets me thinking.

There is no poll... maybe you should put that up XD.
Does the Shadow-Pan Monk require you to have a weapon equipped to work?
Why Rogue is my favourite class:
My submission for this week's card design competition.

I would've voted for #1 since I like the assumed idea behind it. But the wording lacks preciseness about the effect of the card, thus I voted #2.

Any last comments/votes before the end? I know a lot has been said already but there's more critiquing to do
