Is this card a joke? 7 mana 4/2? How can you call shit like this legendary? Because of an irrelevant effect? Fuck this shit Blizzard. And everybody who dreams of a turn 10 board clear combo with the other shitty hunter "legendary" - I'd rather use Deathwing. How can combos be viable in a class with zero card draw.
Honestly the new hunter cards are so fucking underwhelming.
Dreadscale is good on its own, but this card is totally dependent on you having another source of damage right away. I actually think this could have been 3 mana and it wouldn't be OP.

Someone's angry that Face Hunters are getting exactly what they deserve this expansion; nothing.
Personally glad to see so many control-oriented cards this time around. I finally have a reason to put UtH back into my build.

Burn in hell Face Hunters. Actually, ALL face builds can burn.
Should probably cost 6, but it's still great.. Why is everyone assuming you need to combo this with a card though? Hunter seems fairly good at keeping a board presence. Just drop this and let your board trade crazy efficiently. It gives you complete Minion based board control when he hits play. Playing him on a blank board is bad, obviously, so don't do that. Drop him after a Snake Trap or whatever else and so long as he's on the board, you have board control. And of course he's soft at a 4/2, he'd be busted otherwise. Well designed card.
Generally, I think this card is more of a living spell. Really effective at what it does but doesn't last very long.
The good news is you use this card in a deck with a lot of cheap attack generators like snake trap, haunted creeper, UTH, glaive/bow, knife juggler, shredder, dreadscale, highmane, dr. boom, and, to an extent, webspinner. Most mid-range to control variants already run some of those cards. So, only slight adjustments are needed if any. Additionally, you're likely to have at least some board presence on turn 7 given how sticky minions are. In your worst case, I'd say you end up getting a 2 for 1 off of this card (one card to kill this card and one threat this card kills.) The board state that this card creates while the opposing filed is empty is also fairly awkward for the opponent after playing this card which is something that is very valuable. You just sort of sit there with your clock while they spend a few mana to get rid of your card.
The bad news is, 4/2 dies super easily. You're opponent isn't going to have to over-invest to kill this card unless their hand is absolute garbage. Minions with taunt might cause problems. The effect is very volatile since it effects your minions as well. It can only be played for super value in a very specific board state where the opponent has invested some serious stuff while you've been holding back the entire game. You definitely need to plan around using this card on turn 7-10 from the very beginning. At the very least, it's never a dead card in the long game as long as you remember to keep at least one of the triggers around in your hand (especially UTH since that board clear is niiiiice.)
I think you'd really have to experiment to see if this is the kind of option you want in control hunter though. It's much better in the control vs control/midrange matchup. In best case scenarios, this card could obviously do craaaaazy things. But, it's very costly to run this card due to it being 7 mana and so restrictive. The game would definitely have to slow down for this card to see some play outside of webspinner/ram wrangler.
ITS THE EARTH-EATERS!!! From the battle of five armies. And just like the earth-eaters, they are cool-looking and epic for 5 seconds, and then are never seen or heard of again XD.

Current decks: Handlock, Ramp Druid, Control Warrior. My goal: 12 arena wins, beat all da Hunterz. Longtime magic player.
Any ideas on how this interacts with Grim Patron btw? Does the spawn of the Patron go off first or is the Patron destroyed by the damage taken and so it doesn't spawn a copy?
If the spawn doesn't happen then this card could be a great counter to Patron warrior.

It's a 7 mana cost, 4/2 minion that is likely to eat up your entire turn. Your opponent can just Fiery War Axe it, and then proceed to spawn patrons. Now, you can potentially combo it with Unleash the Hounds, or Dreadscale for a 10 mana board clear. Doesn't seem very efficient to me.
Lol laughing at all the people who underrate this minion or say it's too expensive.. This is a card that can swing the whole game around, this card can win you games; Blizzard of course first tested it out themselves to make a good mana cost for it... When you have like 3 little Spectral Spiders and your opponent has Kel'Thuzad and a Sunwalker to protect it, you just play Acidmaw and you kill em both, with only 3 spiders!!! Ultimate swing, you even leave a 4/2 body... It doesn't require Unleash the Hounds or Dreadscale to be good, it just needs a board.. Like KT :3 But will be very cool and good and a nice addition to Control Beast Hunter, like many other revealed cards ^-^
I think you are wrong. This card does not fit the hunter game plan at all. The control hunter has already many tools to remove single minions or punish big board with unleash. If you want to remove big minion hunter's mark is much stronger.
KT is hardly played these days because it expansive and terrible when behind on board. At least KT has decent stats and is not easily removed. 7 mana 4/2 is just horrible.
Even if it was silence and destroy any enemy minion that takes damage, it still would be terrible. Also this card would only go in a slow hunter deck, which means they likely have valuable high cost minions as well...not disposable spectral spiders, abusive sergeants, wolfriders. So the kill your own minion could be a massive negative. Also 10 mana to combo unleash and this card or with the other TGT hunter legendary, just to clear the board and leave a 4/2 and 4/1 on the board. Super weak for 10.
With its current effect/card text this needs 5/5 of stats to be considered to be playable. I thought Krush wasn't good enough, and Gahzrilla didn't fit...but those are like Dr. Boom compared to this card.

How about you try the card out for yourself a week from now and see how far you get up the ladder :)?

R.I.P. Control Hunter, Deathwing still OpieOP.

Yes, this card sucks, but since Hunter got two legendaries, and Dreadscale is pretty good, Hunters aren't prejudiced after all.
No they don't. Acidmaw takes damage from Dreadscale, so it will die after two turns.

most hunters and pallies go face nowadays

More Hunter legendaries that are totally unplayable.

Anubarak was the worst class legendary in TGT.....until now.
Interesting card but the mana cost is insane since it affects also your own minion. It should be 5 or 4 mana.

How do you give a class legendary without giving a class legendary? This is how.
Acidmaw is basically 3 mana swipe, kind-of... which is OKAY.
Dreadscale...
10 mana deathwing combo without discard of your hand is not that strong. It doesn't even ignore divine shield, it's that bad.
Applying Magic the Gathering-esc literal card text rules to this: I'd love to see a hunter clear their own minions when an enemy hits all of them.
"Another minion" is different than "an enemy minion"
Even if it was silence and destroy any enemy minion that takes damage, it still would be terrible.
