Eeeeh. If face is your place, Leper Gnome does the job better. If you use it for trading, I'd rather have a 2 drop minion than to HP at turn 2. Hell, Flame Juggler might even be a better option than HP at this point. I don't know, this card seems rather weak, but it will be staple in a pirate deck, if it ever comes to viability

You're right. also leper gnome will always deal at least 2 dmg even if its killed b4 it can attak. Another useless rogue card.
I think this is a good card, pirate or not. Since which other 1 mana minon is rogues so keen on playing? I'd say none, this however would fuel a dagger on turn two for a removal of their 2-drops. And since it's whenever you equip a weapon it get buffed this dude can die straight after sincei it's not aura or battlecry without any sorrows. Another scenario would be turn 3, this one first and then dagger up for vaule as well. Honostly i think this card is really good, it pretty much does what legendary justicar "buff you hero power" does, without a useless body and for 5 mana cheeper. This card will see play in most of my rogue decks without a doubt.

Think of it more like deadly poison, while heaving a 2/1 body. Also, you need at least 6 1 drops to have a real "aggro" deck, and now pirate has that shell. It's a really really good card.
It's sort of a bite size goblin auto barber but a little different. Auto barber boosts a weapon in play and this buffs equipping one, which makes auto barber a little more versatile. A good chunk of the time this is auto barber for one less mana for an on curve stat line, which makes it kind of better... if cards have similar abilites and one is cheaper, the cheaper one is usually better. It seems to combo really well with perditions blade. on turn 4. 3/2 weapon, deal 2 damage, and a 2/1 just seems like really solid value to me, idk. And if they don't kill it, its absolutely insane value. Also a 1 drop for ships cannon. It's neat
keep in mind, buccaneer isnt a battlecry like the barber.....
Its still better , unless you're using assassin blade and want to buff it on the 3rd or 2nd point of durability. If you need to use a new weapon , this is better , because it can be used pre turn 4 , and actually on curve
thats actually what i meant, i m not saying barber is better than this.....
I've been thinking more about this card and how you can play it and I think it is good. If you are playing against a class that can't deal 1 damage w/ hero power, which is 2/3 of the classes in the game btw (not necessarily representation wise, but there will still be a large chunk of your matches like this) you can just toss this out on turn 1 and then get your 2/2 dagger on turn 2, at which point its already achieved value. But if they don't take care of it this card can actually achieve insane levels of value if you get to use it twice. If you are playing against a 1 damage class you can save it to play with ships cannon or hero power on turn 3 and its not even that bad. There are top rogue builds that play auto barber and I think this is a lot less clunky than that mana wise, 1 mana cards are way easier to weave in that 2 mana ones. I really want pirates to be a thing but even if they aren't, I think this card will still find a home.

Almost every oil rouge runs Southsea Deckhand, a 1-drop.
Why doesn't this have the pirate tag? It makes perfect sense.

Plz Blizzard put the pirate tag on there now plz.
I was thinking the same!
It has a pirate tag i believe, the card image on the front page of hearthpwn just isn't updated.
Yeah, now he has Pirate tag. The card was edited.

Yeah, best Rogue card of the whole expansion, at least in theory, is a Pirate. What a shame.
Now it's just waiting for the new adventure/expansion.
I think this card is good. Looking forward to pirate deck! Hope this archytype will be a new meta ;D
Hello strangers! Warm greetings from a far east :D

i highly agree that this is a pretty good card in all rogue decks. It is essentially rogues Mana Wyrm or Northshire Cleric.
