Cause if that doesn't work AT ALL, even after we tech'd agains't worse matchups, then I fail to see how Rogue is meant to be played. Cause the only real swag of playing Rogue is Tinker's Sharpsword Oil and I had quite enough of it already.
I mean what about Trade Prince Gallywix? What about Edwin VanCleef? What about Being able to stealth (Master of Disguise and Conceal) your stuff and dodging punishment (Wrath, Frostbolt, FireballCrackle for a few turns? Ain't that VALUE? Is Blade Flurry the only win-con for Rogue? Sure, it is fun to emulate a Flamestrike for 3 mana every now and then, but from Rogue class cards, I'd expect way more tbh.
Hey, if people suddenly start cutting owls from their decks for whatever reason, that guy will become good. Because the reason you don't play him is because he will either get BGH'ed or Silenced, and if you can dodge the BGH, you can't dodge the silence. Making him into a 6/6 only to eat a silence is just a waste.

If you don't waste cards just to make him bigger, having a 3-mana minion eat a silence/BGH isn't a major problem

The usual Backstab Knife Juggler->Coin->Edwin IS a huge waste if he gets silenced. And he just became a 6/6 vanila. Instead you could dagger up and Deadly poison. Or you could Coin->SI:7. Both plays are better than getting a 2/2 for 3.

Agreed. I meant that if you play him as though he was just a vanilla 3-mana minion when it happened to fit the mana, instead of going out of your way to make him the focus of the turn, then the problem is reduced somewhat. That is, I personally find him best played almost by accident, just because he fits the mana and happens to be a 6/6 for 3.
If a coin from Cutpurse helps out with making him fit, then that's no bad thing
I had such a cool match yesterday against a warrior (I assume it was a patron, since he seemed to have fewer control options than I'm used to from control)
I was playing a (fun) deck with a lot of combo to control the board and some big legendaries like Ysera
I had the coin.
Turn 1: Opponent plays nothing, I coin out Cutpurse
I can't exactly remember what happened after that, I did coin out an Emperor Thaurissan turn 5, and I remember that my cutpurse was consistently the least of my opponent's worries, so I was able to play my threats at least a turn early.
I was very lucky of course, but this is why even patron warriors should carry a Fiery War Axe
As I stated on my first post, rank 5.
Oh, sorry for not reading hard enough then ^^'
I would try Cutpurse and Gadgetzan Auctioneer.

Turn 2: Opponent plays Armorsmith. I attack face and coin out Edwin VanCleef
Turn 3: Opponent attacks face and armors up. I play Buccaneer and dagger up, attack face with cutpurse and weapon and Armorsmith with vanCleef.
Turn 4: Opponent plays Death's Bite and kills vanCleef, I coin out Shado-Pan Rider
I can't exactly remember what happened after that, I did coin out an Emperor Thaurissan turn 5, and I remember that my cutpurse was consistently the least of my opponent's worries, so I was able to play my threats at least a turn early.

Compare this card with Darnassus Aspirant and you can see how bad this card is.
Cutpurse often goes under the radar if there are other threats. I think he will get more play when LoE starts.
As for mr. Edwin, you can always cloak him so he doesn't get silenced/polymorphed etc.
