The name of this really irks the hell out of me, like was it really so hard for them to just call it Fist of Archimonde or something for continuity sake? I just don't freaking get it, is it because they want to play into the Jaraxxus meme? Pfft.
4 mana for 4 damage to a random target is not worth it for this card to have 2 spaces (or even 1) in a competitive Warlock deck or even Arena constructed. Especially considering the fact that you're forced to combo it into other cards that discard at random. It's a layered system of RNG to achieve four damage. :/
Like, I can't even remember the last time I've seen a Lock at just 2 cards in their hand so I can't see this being used (even in tandem with Soulfire or Succubus, which nobody even uses) ever. But perhaps the rest of the cards will make this look more attractive so I'll shut up.
I'm just tired of all the RNG mechanics of Hearthstone. ;_;

This will most certainly sound stupid, but I'd still like to throw it out there. A Zoo deck with Lorewalker Cho could run only spells that your opponent can't play, such as Power Overwhelming, which you can only use if you already have board control. Fist of Jaraxxus could be put into such a deck and applied through midgame Doomguard drops, therefore applying the damage without giving a spell to your opponent.
Though, admittedly, for such a deck you'd have to cut important spells such as Imp-losion. Because the cards aren't out yet, we can't tell whether it's worth the spell denial from the Jade Serpent guiding you.
This is a really bad card, Succubus is hardly played, and you try to play Doomguard off the Void Caller combo, as to avoid discarding useful cards, unless you're finishing the game, but in that case why would you want 4 damage going in random places?
To me the "random enemy" and the 4 mana cost make it one of the poorest cards in this expansion. And I really like this expansion.
Could have and probably should have been named Finger of Death, since it's Archimonde on the art and not Jaraxxus. Oh well.
I love you. Thanks for properly typing "could have" and "should have" instead of "could of" and "should of" like all the idiots I read all the time. Also, I agree. Makes no sense to give the card that name and then put a picture of Archimonde on it. Very confusing.
I love this as an idea. For a long time I thought that there should be lock cards with text like "Discard this gain this", but by itself it's kinda meh. I hope to see more of them.
Order of operations questions: I assume the fist will go off BEFORE soul fire deals its 4 damage if it's discarded to its effect...but wouldn't that mean the 4 random damage MIGHT take out and kill the target of the soul fire that would have died anyway? If so, would the soulfire 'Fizzle' and not do anything since its target is now gone?
possible this is coded so this happens last when discard paid as a cost...but I'd definitely expect the battle cry discards to happen before creature enters play, but I'm more interested in the targeted spells interaction for now...
madness was was a very powerful mechanic in magic, so the design space is fertile. If warlock ever gets discard outlets that are chosen and not random, this also gets way better. I am expecting some way for hunters to discard their hand quicker to support their empty hand cards eventually...maybe a neutral with chosen discard ability will appear some day and change how this card is viewed
Yep i think it will get Spell Damage tho
Standard > Wild
Succubus finds this sexy.
Doomguard loves this.

im happy, it had to be added
tho, even for 3 mana is too situational
what 2 card in preexisting decks ure willing to throw out for this
hm, none
Very interesting mechanic although the result is very situational.

i think its more along the line that this card can possibly start a new deck like a new tempo lock

Shouldn't that be Fist of Archimonde or did I miss a memo?
will malygos buff it if we discard it? imagine having malygos on board and soulfire discard fist, thats 9+9 dmg!

burstlock is real.
I would love to receive the Fist of Jaraxxus *giggles*
I like the whole random enemy rng coupled with discard, but sadly needs to be 5 dmg to be useful enough.
I'm also assuming they are adding on discard mechanic which is needed in the upcoming control meta.
You Fist (of) Jaraxxus, Eredar Lord of the Burning Legion !
Don't see this card being played seriously.
another useless warlock class card. yay !
