It's clear card for drawing so overload may be not problem. You usually will use this card when your hand is empty or almost empty, that make place mainly in lategame. And in lategame overload doesn't hurt so much. You can play 8-mana minion from this card in the same turn. But anyway it's still worse then Mage's option, that's true.
Arcane Intellect is also Mage's only draw mechanic at all. And this card is better at high mana; since you pay later and can't always use all your mana at 10 anyway.
Keep in mind, these cards provide pseudo-draw for mage as well.
I dont know how to feel about this card. High probability of clogging up your hand and being unusable because of pressure, but kinda good with Lava Shock. So... buff to Lava Shock i guess ? I'd rather run Cult Master though as that removes the need for Lava Shock, and the Haunted Creeper usually provides tokens to trade for cards. Ancestral Knowledge is probably superior in a spell power - burn deck.
Love this card. This card HAS to be worse than other classes card draw engines because its specifically draw for SHAMAN. Draw is the one major weakness of Shaman (besides the problem with overload) so if they had given Shamans a GOOD way to draw cards, it would have been INSANE!
Why not overload (1)? It's really not that impactful, sometimes I trully don't understand Blizzard reasoning :/
Its (2) because giving Shamans reliable card draw IS impactful. Thats also why Recycle costed so much and was so much worse than Polymorph. Because its giving a class a vital tool that they previously did not have. Could you imagine how INSANE Druids would be if they had Execute or Polymorph? Every class has a weakness to it. Druids is a lack of hard removal. Shamans is a lack of card draw. So ofcourse, draw for a class that doesn't have it is going to cost more than it would for other classes.
I think this is a pretty fair card and it's at least something you want one of in most decks. I'm super excited that we are finally seeing some card draw! Can't wait to see what else Blizz has in store for Shaman this expansion!
Worst card draw class card so far but might still be used, since Shamans need card draw. (1) overload 2mana cost or (2) overload with1 mana cost would have been more fair.

Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy, too?
So, Lava Shock + This one = 4 mana, do 2 damage, cycle 2 card. Okey, may be nice for turn 4... but.. Piloted Shredder is already on curve and is not going anywhere.
But, on the other hand, you will make this card cost 0 much faster with Emperor T. It s nice.
if you want to use this on turn 2-5 then please stop playing shaman, and go back to facehunter, or continue playing shaman until you understand when you need card draw
I don't think anyone wants to use this turns 2-5....and that could be an issue with how janky shaman curves can be.

This is not as good as it seems. Shaman want to use all of their mana on turn4,5,6 and 7 for one strong creature. You cant play it earlier either, because you would loose total board control. So this card will be played after turn 7, where most games with shaman are already decided. It might see play, but it wont save Shaman.
I absolutely Agree that this card will not be played after T7, at least it will lose you a lot of tempo and board control if you would. But man, the "turn 7, where most games with shaman are already decided." is a very false statement. I am an experienced Shaman player (only gold class), and let me tell you, I've pulled of uncountable comebacks against Hunters, Warriors et.c. So having this as a 1 of in a control deck, begin able to top-deck a Antique Healbot or Lightning Storm is absolutely great!
I like it alot. Allows for a more tempo-friendly mana curve knowing that you will be able to get more cards later in the game when you start running out. More importantly during your turn, not at the end.
Mana Tide Totem wasn't really reliable outside cycling itself, there is no guarantee that you would get that extra card.

two overload. are you friggin' kidding me...

It doesn't seem that is really worth the price you are paying for it. It would be fair if it was like 1 overload but 2 seems way too much.
You either die a pimp, or you live long enough to see yourself become the hoe

Bad but useful as shaman have a need for immediate card draw that increases hand size sometimes.
In other words, it's exactly what shaman needs :)
This would be great for an elemental shaman, burst shaman, malygod shaman....
Who said you have to draw on turn 2?
Your friends will abandon you...Your heart will explode...
-C'Thun
or a shaman flamewaker-wannabe that triggers for each overloaded crystal instead of spell. PLS...
and if there isnt, I really dont see much reason to play this instead of inventor

Should have been overload(1) in my opinion.

Chromaggus is coming...
This expansion has 9 more cards than GvG (132 - 123), and I think that each class is getting one additional common card.

Also, please stop saying that Lava Shock will be good with this.
Would you seriously play a 4 mana - Deal 2 damage and Draw a card?
That's a gimped Hammer of Wrath which already sees 0 play.
Soooo 5 mana draw potentially 2 cards?

Hey, 4 mana draw 2 cards is the least shaman can ask for. It's not like shaman has a mana problem late game.
