Worst case, you get a 5/5, which isn't that bad since 5/5 is a vanilla stats for 5 drops.
Best case, against aggro, you heal yourself for 7 and gets a 5/5, which is amazing.
Will this replace Antique Healbot is the real question but because this card has stats that passes the vanilla test, there's nothing wrong running both...maybe 1 copy of Antique Healbot and 2 copy of this or vice versa.
This might be what it needs to slow the meta down.
Healbot has weak stats and sees so much play, because no one cares about the stats. I'm pretty sure many players will opt not to take gamble for mere impact which is a bit better stats. Also some decks like Handlock or Echo Mage can't take the risk not to heal against mid-range and control decks. They want heal, not possible heal.
Not all control decks are like Handlock and Echo Mage. Handlock and Echo Mage don't care about stats because they have many high-value threats like Drake and Giants and therefore, they can afford running low stats minions like Healbot. Some more tempo-based control decks like Shaman will probably prefer this over Healbot because they prefer the stats. Also, like I said, no one is stopping you from running both Healbot and this. A 5 mana 5/5 with potential heal is good enough in many constructed decks.
One of the best cards (dare I say, the best?) revealed in the expansion thus far. Amazing in heavy control decks. Will likely replace Antique Healbot in Handlock and may be better than Shieldmaiden in a heavy enough control warrior.
It's finally here. THE TECH for face/aggro/scum. Bring back the control, boys!
EDIT: This post was made before it was revealed that this was in fact a Paladin-only card. Since Paladin has no shortage of heals and really isn't a particularly heavy control class anyways, this card isn't nearly as good as I initially thought.
Writting it for a third time, Handlock can't take the risk. You are not supposed to always win the roll vs other controls or mid-range decks, you run 2-drops, 3-drops, 4-drops and sometimes even 1-drops in Handlock, not only Giants. Look at Handlock lists! You have no guaranteed healing and Handlock requires guaranteed Healing, not 5/5 body.
But you're very likely to win the roll vs. aggro. and much less vs. control - where you don't need the healing as much. If you're going late game control Handlock (which you would if u run this) you have Alexstraza and Jaraxxus for late game heal (vs control).
But thanks for taking the time to write your reply three times ;) I take your point that it's very fragile if you can just tap yourself to death without maybe getting the heal. So may be better in decks that already have a lot of heal and late game.
In most cases against aggro, this will probably activate consistently and even provide more board presence than the staple anti-aggro Antique Healbot. Against control match-ups, the heal is a negligible 50/50 coin flip but the stats alone are solid enough to contest Loatheb and Sludge Belcher on turn 5. The two cards may see rotations depending on the meta post-TGT.

Worse than healbot, because when you need heal, you don't want +2/+2 on your minions. You want a guaranteed 8 heal, while one that can fail is useless crap.
Well, nobody speaks about it, but do you want to reveal your deck ? Of course you want to know the ennemy's deck, but at what price ? On turn 5, you already know what deck they are playing.
How is this better than Dragon Consort, at all? In Dragon Decks this obviously isn't close to as good as Consort, in non-Dragon decks it's better because who the hell is running Consort in non-Dragon decks...

Meta changes the moment you switch your deck.
Double Healbots screw Face Hunter but more board-based aggro decks like Zoo, Mech Mage, Tempo Mage, etc.
This screws all aggro decks.

Tuskarr Jouster is a rare card while this is common.
Also, this looks like some sort of food vendor LOL.

If they didn't run Acolyte of Pain, Loot Hoarder, Explosive Sheep and Sunfury Protector I'd love to play the Mage Dupe Giants deck again with this. Effigy fits perfectly in that deck (kill a giant, get a new giant).

Wow. This is now confirmed to be Paladin, not neutral. Was the most interesting card of the set until now. Goodbye theorycrafting.
Wait, where ?

VS Aggro
Turn5 heal bot or sludge belcher or ...taunt turn,
If you dropped turn5 this and failed heal
You died
Great card for Paladin, blizz is giving love to Palasss this Tourney!
Dragon Consort weeps in powercreep
I guess they're abandoning Dragon archetype for now...
There isn't a dragon revealed in entire set so far.
Piloted Shredder, Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist, Dr. Boom
Need to be removed from this game
Oh, it's a Paladin card? That's interesting, kind of wrecks Dragon Consort. Solid ability, good anti-aggro!
EVERYONE ITS A PALADIN ONLY CARD. THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING
