Gets owned by Shredder, so if that remains popular then this effectively becomes a 6 drop so you can at least get value off of it. Having said that, I'm happy this card exists as it opens up new play styles for Druid even if it doesn't necessarily fit double combo druid atm.
Druid is my least favourite class, but this card gives me high hopes for upcoming druid decks. Hopefully there'll be more cards in the set that can make this type of deck viable. I'll certainly enjoy playing Druid then.
Great reveal, interesting cards are always welcome! Now where were those two legendaries we were promised?..
Both deal 3 damage if they are summoned on turn 6, but you trade one Attack, the ability to go through taunts, and to not damage yourself.
Another thing is that if Savage Combatant survives, you get to do it AGAIN. Which is INSANE value. I'm thinking Druid's cards this expansion will be expanding upon his Hero Damage abilities like Bite, Claw, and Savagery.
I don't usually play Druid, but this is a nice addition to future Beast Druids!
I didn't see anyone mentioning the possibility of playing a 5th turn Druid of the Fang of this one. You even have the option to not play it to use the Inspire effect, but you get the point: Turn 4 - Savage Combatant --> Turn 5 - Druid of the Fang

Actually, assuming that this deck would most likelly run double Wild Growth and maybe double Innervate, Savage Combatant owns the early game and rekts Shredder (with hero power).
At turn 4 and so on, where the 3 attack hero power would be less effective, you can Innervate (or get on curve with an early Wild Growth) Justicar Trueheart.
So, I think this card would work better in taunt druid (this way you can effectively stop aggro and still be behind a wall of taunt). But it's a bad card against decks like Handlock which makes me think that Combo is a must have in those decks so you can fill that weakness.
Great card, if will have any play in constructed IDK but I hope it does. In arena, Top tier pick. If druid innervate this on turn 2 you can probably concede if you're not a mage or can't deal with it because druid will be OHK anything on the early game and proceeding to snowball from there.
This card is dumb dumb dumb. It's one of those cards like Dunemaul Shaman where you say to yourself "why did they make a card with this ability and these stats!?" A 5/4 with that particular cardtext.... it's just so awkward. It doesn't make sense at all, the time when you would even want that card text would be in the first couple of turns, you don't need that going into turn 5 upward. Unless something is released that very specifically combos with Combatant, this looks like a complete waste of a card.
Very nice card, but as long as shredder exists this won't be played sadly. I don't see this changing how druid currently plays but let's hope for some other nice cards.
Totally disagree the new card with Druid of the fang is a really strong turn 4/5. Strong beast synergy. The combo decks may still prefer shredder but we will see a lot of beast decks rise up when this expansion is released.
Turn 2 wild growth, turn 3 this, opponent turn 4 piloted shredder. Good luck in this dimension.
You are comparing two card versus one. If you compare Combatant vs Shreder you will see that shredder kills combatant and spawns 2 mana minion and its a clear win. Imagine opponent also playing WG and playing shredder before you they trade and you are left empty handed. You will see no one will be using those unless druids gets some serious beast synergy.
The Minion which is played first wins here. Shredder trades and you get a 2mana minion if Shredder was played first. Druid kills Shredder with strenghtend hero power if the combatant was the first on the battlefield..
Shredder may seem a bit stronger but this whole expansion is about Inspire + Hero power, which will probably strenghten the Combatant even more. I can see why people would run Shredder over this one for a deck which doesn't need any combos but to say this one is shitty is premature I think. It has huge potential and even if we won't see more cards which synergize with this one, it can still be played. Hero-Power Darkbomb's and a usefull Beast are still strong on its own.

Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy, too?
Best comparisons seem to be Fire Elemental (5/4 instead of 6/5) and Blackwing Corruptor (costs 1 more mana but doesn't need the dragon). Seems playable.
I love this card, and I think people are undervaluing it already. Keep in mind Druid has two mana acceleration cards in Wild Growth and Innervate, and this lets your hero power take out a Shredder. Played on curve it's ok, played before curve it's pretty incredible.
We've got a few cards to go, one more with Beast synergy and I think it'll definitely be a thing. The main reason Druid Of The Fang isn't played is because Druid didn't have access to decent beasts before Turn 5, except -perhaps- webspinner. Flame was just a bit too weak.

IMO The main reason Druid of the Fang isn't played is because it's a semi-expensive card that doesn't do anything to alter the board and dies too easily to Big Game Hunter. (Also Webspinner is a Hunter card :P ) I don't think most druids would play a 5-mana 7/7 Druid of the Fang over DotC/Azure Drake/Loatheb/Harrison just because it doesn't do anything in a competitive mana spot.
Druid's main weakness is that if it loses board control it can't win it back. As Druid of the Fang does nothing for this, it won't be played in Ramp/Combo/Mill/Taunt druid, which are the four archetypes we have right now. If it is played in Beast Druid, then that means Beast Druid has different win conditions or beast synergy has become really OP.
I was literally just playing around with Druid of the Fang today and thinking "see the problem with Beast druid is there's no 4 drop beast. So you've either got to play Flame and hope it survives two turns or Claw and then play Druid of the Fang inefficiently on turn 6." And lo and behold Blizzard comes out with a great 4 mana beast. Which I misread as a 3/4 and I still thought it looked good. But then - "Wait, 5/4?!?"

6 mana 5/4 and a 3/1 weapon, oh and 1 armor!
not too bad i guess

Comparing Savage Combatant to Fire Elemental is pretty strong.

2 x Big Game Hunters incoming
Pretty nice card collection for Druid. Now druid can cycle wrath for card draw.
Now THIS is a sexy card...
Hemet Nesingwary buff.
The curse of the unwanted sig space.

I like this card it seems really strong, might even make an aggro druid.
As others have said, this card probably won't see play in the current constructed druid archetypes. But in arena this card will be godlike.

if you have a 5 drop you are not going to hero power
