I sure hope they add more secret interactions with this expansion.Imagine turn 7 put up effigy and trade away both boards, turn 8 Rag or KT. What the hell does opponent do?
I think this will make dragon mage even more powerful. With codarra drake (its a dragon), hero power buffing, and this secret to replace the removal of big dragons, the control game will be easier. Just speculation obviously.
From where I'm sitting, this looks outright overpowered. The funny thing is that it discourages mages from playing Dr. Boomso the bots don't get recombobulated.
Even Turn 3 Effigy, Turn 4: Water Elemental seems very strong, because whatever killed your water elemental is probably frozen.
Clearly we're looking at disproportionate battlecries so that the mana cost is higher than the stats. The value! Harrison Jones says hello. You could even play Sylvanas Windrunner on an empty board if you have Effigy up. Your opponent would be certain that the secret was Duplicateand not know what to do.
If we could somehow create a Hand-mage like deck with this card + Mountain Giant in the early game it is probably gg for the enemy^^ It would out-value nearly everything.

Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy, too?
This forces your opponent to play around it so whether you include it in your deck or not, the fact that the card exists is a small buff to mages. As with most mage secrets, the less people play it, the better it will usually be.
you simply don't have the choice to leave cards such as Sorcerer's Apprentice on board.
You can try to force your opponent to trade his Apprentice (For example the arcane Nullifier could accomplish this - or Anti-Spell cards like Cho, Loatheb or Trade Prince Gallywix + a high thread minion like Saraad or you set up to kill the Apprentice in your opponents turn with Explosive Trap, Boom bots or Unstable Ghoul etc. which will all result in the Secret not triggering. Then you can sap the apprentice and best of all you can transform her and kill the replacement wasting your opponents secret right away.
Also you can just go face and kill the mage before he can set up his awesome combo.
You can also steal or destroy the secret
and if you correctly guessed, that your opponents secret ist Effigy with Apprentice on Board, then you might be able to just kill the apprentice and then kill the next apprentice too right away.
Oh and if you want to get rid of the apprentice for her effect but fear a duplication then you can silence her.
I'm pretty sure there's even more ways to counter an apprentice that is about to get duplicated/effigied for cheap spell value but right now I can't come up with more.
Pretty strong card, hopefully there will be more neutral Secret controlling/destroying minions. This is just another big key to more sticky big bodies in an Echo/Freeze deck...
Turn 5 trade board and play this, turn 6 drop sylvanas and watch your enemy trade their board into sylvanas to nullify her effect and then effigy pops out another sylvanas. gg
Am I the only one who think this card is not so good? It's just a worse Ancestral Spirit that its target cannot always be controlled, its outcome is random, cost 1 more, yet Ancestral Spirit doesn't see play except in gimmicky decks.
Ancestral Spirit is very weak to silence effect, and is tied to one minion only, while Effigy is sitting there as a constant threat.

It would be extremely lucky to pop another Sylvanas
It doesnt rly matter if it was another sylvanas or not, it would still be 3 mana 6drop :)

She would have the same % chance as any other 6 drop.
Well this card worries me. If it sees play, there will be secret and echo mages. People might react with more Kezan Mystics. This in turn, means more tech cards and decks with techcards tends to be punished by aggro if the tech isn't against aggro.
If it doesn't see play, well that would be sad because I like secret and echo mages^^
Kezanis great against face hunter, it's just a gg when you get an explosive trap with it...

There is no cancer deck in hearthstone ! You are the Cancer !
Have to see it in action, but it feels like a very strong secret. Great tempo and strong off Mad Scientist early plus obviously very strong late game if you can work it to only have high mana minions out.
The randomness of this combined with unstable portal seems like it could potentially produce some seriously fun results. I'm a newish player but being able to potentially cast a 7 drop turn 4 with this in play seems pretty powerful. (Turn 2 portal, turn 3 this, turn 4 creature). Unlikely it will always play out like that or you would get a chance to against aggro but with synergy with cards such as shredder etc I quite like it.

Seems like a more expensive but potentially stronger Redemption.

Turn 10: Archmage Antonidas + Effigy.
Turn 4: Effigy. Turn 5, Antique Healbot

No one expects a Vaporize though. :3

Echo of Medivh: Aggro, good when you have lots of cheap minions
Duplicate: Midrange, reliable pick your minion
Effigy: Control, good when you have giants, legendaries and end-game minions

wat
All mage secrets are 3-mana...
"That belongs in the Hall of Explorers!"

Every secret made for mage make it harder to play around secrets.
I think this card replaces Counterspell in tempo mage.

Main NA, but also play Asia and EU
