Great card in my book. Definitely has some good counters with Kezan, hex, poly, and face hunters, but provides a lot of value with scientist or any 5+ mana card in play and adds some resilience against board clears. I think we'll see quite a bit of it, especially if it works in an echo giants deck.
Depends on the matchup and how it's played, but if the aggro trend continues then it's a LOT better than mirror entity....as long as you give them reason to clear your minions.
I can see this getting played a lot in slower decks more-so than faster decks, it's arguably the best answer to BGH in the game thus far. Summon a huge minion with this in play, it gets BGH'd only for this to summon another big threat immediately. It's arguably a hard removal nullifier for slower decks that run lots of big minions.
Better than Duplicate in tempo decks, probably worse in control-ish decks. Either way probably reasonably balanced and not going to blow the meta wide open or anything.
What's up with Mad Scientist complaints? Mage secrets aren't viable without it. With 3 mana cost they are too slow for what they usually accomplish. If you try to get a discount with Sorcerer's Apprentice or Kirin Tor Mage, you run out of steam really fast as Mage secrets usually lead to card or tempo disadvantage. The instances of getting really good results with Mage secrets are pretty rare. You can generally expect only a couple of weird plays from your opponent, guessing which secret it is, which is often obvious from the type of deck you play.
If anything, Mad Scientist is OP in Hunter decks, because their secrets are more impactful. It's usually really hard to deal with Explosive Trap for aggro and with Freezing Trap as control. You can't spend a 1-2 mana card to counter them unlike with Mage secrets.
Not sure about this card, I think the effect is comparable toAncestral Spiritexcept that its better since it can be fetched by Mad Scientist and its a secret (mind games). IMO it will have difficulties competing with Duplicate and Mirror Entitiy. I'd give this same rating as Counterspell its a nice secret but its not as impactful as Dupe and ME.
This isn't a card you want to play on turn 3. Mainly because you wont get value of this card until turn 4. and at turn 5, you get in range of minion with low stats and high battlecries (which won't trigger).
Also, if it goes into a secret deck, then you need to decide which cards you want to ditch.

Will this be better than Mirror Entity?

Its mirror entity with more RNG.
This card is really cool. I'll try it for sure, plus no more copying enemy Doomsayers.
Also a mirror entity that will never trigger against a face deck
Taunt mage might become more viable as an anti aggro deck though.
oh my god the number of casuals saying this card is too good or broken in this topic is going to make me throw up.
Let's make mad scientist more OP, why not?

I think it totally makes sense and it will change the META a lot. You guys are also right, that Kezan will be played more often.

The only cancer in Hearthstone is its community.
This along with the new giant makes for a much more powerful version of echo mage than I think we have ever had.
I can't think of many good reasons to play this over Mirror Entity or Duplicate. But, giving your opponent one more thing to test for is nice.
I guess you could try building a deck around this and Recombobulator, but, I think it would be limited to casual.

Duplicate is better IMO
