I find this very ominous since it is not an existing WoW-lore character. Same with the pirate "riding a paaaarrot". I hope this doesn't become a habit...
Yeah I agree with you, this just feels wrong and lazy
Making up a new thing is lazier than reusing an old thing? Riiiiight.
I'm personally more bothered by the playability of existing legendaries compared to how important they are in the lore. On one hand you've got Dr. Boom being the most played legendary while just being a non-elite side quest target in WoW, and on the other you've got poor Illidan Stormrage who is only ever seen in Arena.

Drawing from outside your deck is a good thing. This card will add a random factor to any deck, and may give you some hilarious results. Just for that, i like the card. I dont know if it will be viable to run it over say, Loatheb or Harrison, but i will experiment with him in my priest, warrior and mage control decks. Using him with Master of Disguise sounds good on paper as well, but to be realistic thats just a combo that isnt really nessecary and wastes deck space without providing a real win condition, which is what you want from Master of Disguise.
That seems a little redundant, aren't all neutral cards minions?
In the twitter source I linked (it's from the front page), people were asking if it included spells like The Coin, Ysera Awakens, Bananas etc. So to those people, the wording would not be redundant.
I'm not sure what the confusion IS
I was just answering a question by linking to Blizzards clarification of the wording. The card seemed perfectly clear to me when I saw it (and probably everyone else who saw it immediately demonstrated). But read the twitter comments I linked. There's confusion. Maybe if you have twitter you can explain it to them yourself.
Another card from new expansion that works in Echo Mage
Oh god I didn't even think about this, you can essentially swap out your card draw for this guy since you can replicate him and get tons of spell value. Well at least its an alternative to complete control mage like they are pushing.
I feel like at least one heavy control/grinder shell will be more than happy to include Nexus-Champion Saraad. Late game, when you're both getting low on cards, being able to get a 'draw' each turn through Saraad could go a long way towards securing a win.
He may not have the immediate body or impact of something like Nef or Ysera, but he does have the potential to generate a *lot* of card advantage - card advantage that can potentially protect himself, depending on what he gets.
Yeah this guy will definitely see some use, gonna be a lot of fun! :D

What is Hearthstone to you? A fun and semi-competitive game with wacky effects and crazy RNG outcomes or just a card game you wanna grind as many wins you can get as fast as possible in?
I think that he wont be used, after all a random spell is not much value most of the time, he comes with a weak body and needs 7 Mana when played from hand. The ability is way to random to be good.
After the fencing coach was released, I think saarad became infinitely more appealing to me. Now I can Saarad and Thunderbluff valiant + hero power in the same turn. Thats essentially playing a 2/2 3/6 and a 4/5 iirc and buffing any existing totems and drawing a card all in one turn....yeah thats pretty nice. And this is just one example too. Saarad being 5 mana makes it fairly easy to weave in another inspire minion, especially after a fencing coach boost.

i dont see that happen. he is bad in midgame because he wont live enough to generate much spells and the same is true for the lategame. the only advantage is that you can chose to play him early and he isnt just dead on hand. also its probably just too random especially in classes without weapons. just play ysera or chormaggus instead.
I think you're over simplifying the card, you can't just say play Ysera, Nefarian or Chromaggus instead because a 5 mana and 8+ mana drop aren't comparable. I'm crafting 1 for Control Warrior for certain, because the thing is as much as people shit on this card I bet the same people are going to kill him as soon as you play him; basically he has Emperror Thaurissan level scaling risk to your opponent so you can play him, Armor Up and soft taunt your opponent. I think he's at least a contender for the Harrison Jones/Loatheb slot depending on how the meta breaks.
Short of Varian "you have to automatically play with me" Wrynn, I kind of like how most of the legendaries in this set aren't clearly must crafts but niche choices.

Funny if you get a Sense Demons playing a non-warlock deck...
Edited: I remember that will yield 2 useless imp or something?

The curse of the unwanted sig space.
it just whiffs. you get nothing if you don't have any demons in your deck.
Ah-ha. It won't whiff. I went and look, it will give you 2 Worthless Imp.
But then, they are worse than Wisp...

I'll have fun playing it in an all legendary deck but otherwise it just isn't competitive imo. I hope it gets play but who knows.
