this card can work well with mass removal.. it isnt anything that special tho and i like it becouse of this.. mage doesnt need more OP removal.. good card and i like the way it works
This is a really tough one to judge, but I can definitely see this seeing some play. I doubt it'll be an auto include in all mage decks because of fireball, but I definitely think it'll see use in the right decks.
However this does de-confirm my assumption that every class would get at least 1 dragon/card that interacts with dragons in this expansion.
Think using Frostbolt + hero power is better. 4 mana and guarenteed freeze. Flamecannon is still a lil random but will be preferred on stealth minions.
Guess if you wanna combine dragon's breath with some aoe, like flamestrike, blizzard, sheep bot. Since the minions to die don't have to be yours.
Still not sure why Frostbolt says character. When other direct damage spells dont have it. Fireball for example.
Seems awfully expensive, maybe effective in a rush meta with lots of small minions. Should've had at least "Draw a card" as an additional effect to justify the mana cost. A bit dull just to have another damage spell.
I don't really see the use case here. Best scenario, your opponent has 6 minions in play on turn 7. 5 of the minions have less than 4 health, and the 6th minion has 8 health. You could flamestrike, and then cast this for free to kill the 6th minion.
I just feel like mage already has too many strong direct damage spells, that this just feels mediocre. In another class, this would likely be a solid spell, but for mage it just seems outclassed.
I see it as a clean up after aoe most of the time, for any minion that survives because of health, shield or deathrattle. Gives a bit more flexiblity to blizzard and flamestrike.

It says character to specify what you can freeze. Fireball doesn't leave any disabling effects on anything, if the thing survives.
On the topic of the card, a tempoy or a fast mage deck could get a lot of use out of this. I see it as a one of at most, as two can get dead, or at least suboptimal, fast. Fun card, at least. Usually a decent pick in arena, too.
I have this nagging feeling that this card will prove to be one of the best cards from BRM. Just a trade makes it 4 damage for 3, which is good. Any kind of further clearing of minions just makes it crazy.

Think more often than not there is a situation where you have some monios and your oponent has some as well, so when you start trading this card cost drops, so if you are behind on board control and is able to trade, this can cost 1 or 0 mana, permiting you to put some minion down as well.
Lets imagine you are turn 5 with 2 minions and you oponent has 3, if you trade 1x1 your 2 minions you possibly would clean the board with this spell costing 1 mana, and have 4 to lay dow an water elemental ...
Think there is resonable potential on midrange / control decks, but i can see even a mech mage taking some value of it ...

Can be good reach for Freeze Mage after Doomsayer clears field. 2 of this + 2 fireball + frost bolt = 25 damage
Does Doomsayer's action technically happen on your turn? I always thought start/end of turn sequences were technically outside of your proper "turn" sequence. Does anyone have any clarification?

aggro mage? prehaps zoo?
Kind of garbage. Two creatures have to trade and die to even get the value of a Shadow Bolt.

Time is money, friend.
I don't know about this card, i have to see it play first, it have some potential though.
Weaker than Fireball in every way besides the possibility to gain tempo.

Not sure if hyped yet.
Showing the 2nd Mage card before Paladin, Druid or Priest get a card revealed.
Not cool.

Oh wow, cobra shot just got itself a partner!
"The light shall burn you!" - heals face.
A push for token mage? Maybe we'll see a return of Violet Teacher in Mage decks.

Looks like a pretty meh card.
I think Flamecannon is 100x better since you don't have to trade in at least 2 minions to be equal as good as Shadow Bolt.
And trade in 3 to be somewhat better than Flamecannon.

Note this card is better than Shadow Bolt because it doesn't have to hit a minion.
