Very situational card. Only instance i see this being really good at is big priest in wild.
Even Cyclone mage plays a lot of small minions and is easily able to play around it (Mirror Image being the first thing that comes to my mind).
But Hearthpwn community sees "destroy an enemy minion" for 2 Mana and goes bananas it seems.
Even if you end up destroying something small, the trap has done its job if you've forced your opponent to make suboptimal plays. That's a big part of the strategy of secrets.

Some other annoying hunter secret. it will not get activated if you don't have a minion on the board and it will force you to play a small minion and a spell before putting a big minion you were planning to play.

Yeah, but spending 2 Mana playing something that is SO easy to play around is mostly not worth it. Hunter spends 2 Mana casting this. Mage spends 1 Mana casting Mirror Image, one of the taunts gets destroyed, mage is still left with a 0/2, a 1 Mana advantage and initiative on the board.
Admitted: that's pretty much the worst counter. But almost every class can do something like this: -Rogue can backstab and sacrifice a lackey or another 1/1 -Warrior doesn't care if it's minions get destroyed, they all have rush and/or battlecrys anyway -Other hunters have shit tons of 1/1s they don't care about -Shaman has voltaic burst and totems to sacrifice -Zoolock has token 1/1s (and hardly any spells) -Same thing with token Druid -Paladin has it's hero power 1/1s they don't care about
And yes, all those options are a small tempo loss and might not be the 100% optimal thing for the turn otherwise. But the hunter spending 2 Mana and a card (which hunter has trouble drawing anyway) is almost definitely worth the small sacrifice.
This card is bad, why people are voting as 5 or 4 stars? It makes no sense, no one is going to play this card in standard, neither wild... Just mark my words.

Every one of your play-arounds assumes an empty board, or at least no minion on your side that you care about protecting.
You don't get to pick when the Hunter plays the trap. You also don't know which trap it is. You certainly don't get to choose which minion gets sacrificed. You've vastly oversimplified the situation.

This.
Much of the key to hunter secret strategy (playing them as the hunter as well as playing around them as the opponent) is timing. This can be played when it's more difficult for the other player to negate a potentially bad outcome. Or vice versa, the opponent can flood the board when suspecting this trap (but at the same time must be thinking about explosive trap). The card seems good, and even better, it appears reasonably balanced. I think it goes in more value oriented spell hunters, as well as in secret hunter decks. I don't see it fitting into the more aggressive representatives of the class.
I think this is very easy to play around, and even against Giant Mage, they tend to have small minions like Mirror Image and Banana Buffoon or Mana Cyclone.

busted good
Rage quitting: the best way to ensure your opponent knows they beat a giant baby.

A pretty solid card.
Very good, almost all hunter secrets are good
One of the best made cards of this expansion. It’s actually balanced boys! And seems like a good concept

Not a bad secret, will be a better option than others to run in a secret deck.
Could be seeing this more from Shimmerfly or Secret Plan than naturally placing in decks.
Depends if Hunter is running Zuljin as well.
The popular versions of Mech Hunter don't run Zuljin and the Death Knight is more popular in Wild. Giving this a 3 atm.
Not sure if hyped yet.

if the highlander hunters work out this will be in there, Im not sure if its good enough. Secret Plan likes it though

Yeah, but it costs one less AND has intrinsic Secret value. I think it'll play in many MR Hunter decks. 😄
