It's a better Flamestrike ... but Flamestrike isn't played right now... might be more of a card that feels good when you get it off of Hagatha the Witch ... but Hagatha isn't played right now...
volcano is kinda better..but this card is only good vs deadrattle/reborn minion afertmath.
7 is to expensive to make 9 damage, volcano cost 5 and does 15.
I say its only good if u get it by some rng DIscover effect.
Volcano costs (7) if you include the Overload, which you should. It also stops dealing damage at 15. Earthquake has no damage cap -- it affects all minions equally.
And hey, everyone babbling about Flamestrike, Flamestrike doesn't kill your own minions. That's kind of a big deal.

Volcano does a total of 15 to EVERYTHING. This new Earthquake card does a MINIMUM of 7 damage (not sure where you got 9) but you double the damage this card does if your opponent has two minions. Triple for three and so on. This card is most similarly comparable to Flamestrike from Mage. It does a little more damage, but also hits your own minions. Flamestrike does 4 minimum damage, and can deal up to 28 to a full board (across seven targets). Earthquake can deal a maximum of 42 damage.
So literally just taking into account the amount of damage for each card, this is one of the best board clears in the game. The only board clears I can think of that are better are Poison Seeds, Twisting Nether, Psychic Scream and the new Plague of Death card for Priest. They all can "deal infinite damage" by straight up destroying their targets instead. They don't care if you have The Darkness, Tyrantus, or Deathwing. They die.
It's such a good card ! Also think about the spell damage synergy making this do +2 damage .
I guess the spell damage minion would die from the 6 damage of the first blast. You could use Tainted Zealot in wild, but in Standard there is not a spell damage minion that can be combined with Earthquake and survives the first damage (even not Mana Reservoir ).

Malygos can! But that, of course, will not be a 1-turn combo.
i never would sleep on a card that can clear a Savannah Highmane , and control shaman can afford run at least one copy of this since Swamp queen Haggatha is the usual turn 7
Yeah, the more I think about this card, the more nuts, this is. Shaman only needs a few decent battlecry minions in their class or neutrals and not only is there Quest really good, but this means keeping the board clear against most decks.
Only super aggressive decks will be able to beat them before they get to stabilize. It's still early, but I am willing to call this Meta Defining and this will push Shaman to Tier 1 next expansion.

I wouldn't mind a control shaman being tier 1 if it weren't so heavily rng-based. That kind of mechanic feels bad, especially in a control vs control match. We don't need a Boom vs Hagatha RNG clown fiesta defining our meta, that would be miserable and way more frustrating than Boom's rng, which at least rotates powers instead of draws from a largely great spell pool that shaman has.

I don't necessarily want or like RNG Clown Fiesta Control decks either. At least this card is not RNG based. Imagine it said Do '3 to 5' damage to all minions, then do another '1 to 2' damage.
That would make the card far worse and possibly too RNG to even be played.
If only we could fix these Hero cards from dominating Standard. Hmm.

Anti-token, anti-deathrattle
Extremely cool card, now can shaman get just a bit more support to be the new control dominator?
Also: I REALLY hope we don't end up with bad aggro, otherwise we'll end up with Hagatha vs Boom rng clown fiestas.

Flamestrike on steroids

This space is intentionally blank.
Highmane is going to uninstall Hearthstone now.
I absolutely hate Soul of the Forest, and this just takes a dump on Token Druid. Love it.
WHERES YOUR HIGHMANE NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
and its only a rare :), great card!
Can't wait to swing boards with it. Only downside is that my horros will destroy themselves if I pick this card.
Behold our new Shaman Overlords...

Malygos is too expensive to be comboed together.
