I was playing a control murloc shaman in wild the last months ( with quest reno, shuderowck, hagatha, neptulon and others.) and once i saw the power of underbelly angler i dropped the reno , neptulon package and went with double of most good murlocs.
One think i saw is that underbelly angler is just too powerfull. as a 2/3 if i want to play it for tempo turn 2 is great. if i just go with 1 minion on 3 is great. if i get one from megafin is gg. in late game i can play it with ghost light angler and it is a better poseidon.
It even makes a powerfull tier 2 deck on standard (53-54% winrate).
what i fear is that in the actual state it would limit other fun murloc cards like murloc tastyfin.
in my opinion it should be like the old buzzard a 2/1. i would still play it but i ll think twice before using it and it would not be a tempo play anymore.
It is just a good murloc card. Nobody, except you, calling for such nerf :P Now Murloc Shaman is a viable Tier2 deck (in Wild) and can compete with other Tier decks.
Standard cards do not get nerfed because of Wild. You are stuck with this card as is for the next two years, my friend. If it's OP in Wild at that point, THEN you can ask for a nerf. But it has to be Naga Sea Witch levels of OP.

The only issue i have with this card is that it can summon itself leading to an infinite loop of murlocs, no card should be able to summon itself same issue arises with Archivist.
Otherwise no issues maybe a bit much health for a 2 drop ?
I can understand that it can be disheartening that aggro can just refill their hand so easily. Though control is fairly strong too with both warrior and Khadgar mage atm.
I don't necesserily want to see the card nerfed because I think other cards are more problematic right now, but I do agree with the OP. Anyone with decent Hearthstone experience can see that the card is insane. I just had a quick look at the stats on hsreplay and they support this: https://hsreplay.net/decks/0StdnCGITZFC8e0CnUrQ7b/#gameType=RANKED_STANDARD
The card has the highest mulligan winrate and drawn winrate by far, is kept the most after Murloc Tidecaller (which makes sense since murloc tidecaller is the best turn 1 play the deck has), and has by far the highest played winrate after Bloodlust (which is insane considering bloodlust is a card that is mostly only played as a finisher).
Right now murloc shaman doesn't have enough things besides Underbelly Angler to support it, but if more support is given throughout the next two years it will definitely be a deck to watch out for. Personally I hope it stays as strong as it is right now though.

do i need murkeye for this deck too? i see u haven't included it..i used to have it but disechanted after the release of wild..:///
if you really want something like murkeye, you can just run leeroy. granted leeroy doesn't get the synergies but he fills the same purpose of being a charge finisher.
This card is good and it's really good in wild, it helped me win against warriors and some other control type decks in wild. I can see the problem even if I do like and adore this card. it's kind of too cheap in my opinion, it'd be still a good card at 4 mana. However, I do like it the way it is and I'm gonna play it as long as I can and as many times as I can without it changing while using this deck
I expected this card to be nerfed as well, but after playing a fair share of Murloc Shaman I have to say, it's not actually that strong...yet
Basically, the entire Murloc archetype in Shaman really lacks the snowballing potential as of now. We're no longer in a Keleseth era, so a lot of deck have some form of turn 2 removal, so you rarely get to just jam it on curve and reap the benefits.
Ofc you can hold it for later turns and get great value of of it, but that kinda requires you to be in a situation where you're already winning.
In a time where Rockpool Hunter and Gentle Megasaur were a thing, this would be an insane card, but right now Murlocs don't snowball nearly as hard as they did once. Not to mention that randomly generated Murlocs just aren't that great in any case.
As for Wild: cards usually don#t get nerfed just based on how good they are there. wild nerfs only target really overbearing decks and Murloc Shaman doesn't seem to be one of them.
Nerfing a card because its way more powerful in Wild over Standard sounds very reasonable... haha, no.
Personally I'm against the nef. However, to play devil's advocate why wouldn't nerfing something in standard due to a power level be reasonable? The opposite happens all of the time when a card that is not a problem in wild gets nerfed because something broke in standard yet again.

It's awesome and can provide great value!

Because heaven forbid murlocs get a good card once in a while, right?
sigh

Trying to be patient and see where the meta goes.
Not sure if hyped yet.

“I was playing a controll Murloc shaman in wild”. That’s where I lost all interest.
I think its too strong aswell. Solid stats and a generation of infinite value is just bs for a aggro deck.
People in this thread are just ignorant and will also complain when murloc shaman gets more popular.
Nerfs in plural?
Lmao you're a trip bro.
they made prenerf starving buzzard for murlocs. this card should never have been released the way it is. it should be at least 4 mana.

I tried having fun once. It was awful.
