He's not OP. He is good, but doesn't win games on his own. The reason he's played so much is that he's a strong card that isn't associated with any particular archetype.
Zilliax is in 50% of decks at the moment. Is i recall corridor creeper was in about 40% of decks - and it got hotfixed VERY fast. Patches I didn't think of, that's true - and he properly were around 50% as well. But Blizz was also largely criticized by pro players about how slowly he was nerfed.
But I do also see your point about it only being an expansion card.
corridor creeper was broken though. you could get them out for free and they swing games.
zilliax is just a versatile card. corridor creeper was used because it was broken.
IMO that's a pretty big difference. also zilliax is legendary, you can only have one of it. If it was epic it would have been nerfed already.
I see that people don't really agree with me. But I think that's just fine. I love to hear peoples opinions - and you bring up a lot of points, that I wasn't thinking about! :-)

My brother and I both got legend - and he climbed to 316 with it. Check out our guide!
Hmm if you think about it longer it's a good question. He gets played more than any other cards but then again i don't feel bad if the enemey plays it - like never - even if i play the most extreme of aggro (i'm a control player tho who plays aggro from time to time) so at the end a really really good cards witch doesn't feel bad so i think it''s a fine card? I found things like spreading plague much more annoying than ziliax. He might be to strong but imo he's fine and a really good card for f2p players cuz he fits almost everywhere. In the end he is fine but i understand that he can sometimes be very frustrating as a aggroplayer...

TBH you might be right and I might be wrong. But I like the card and I don't think it's busted. If mechs were a big thing and somehow it meant that it made mech decks dominant, I might see it as a problem, but for now it is normally just 6 heal and a taunt.
you can cold blood it in rogue which is decent and of course use it in mech decks, but it can't go face the turn it's played usually and we have a lot of cards that can punish stacking minions high that can't attack the tun they're played.
I am mainly playing control shaman right now though and i run 2 copies of hex. zilliax is never too much for me to handle (I do also run zilliax myself, ha ha)
It's the #1 most played card currently sitting at a 48% usage rate - that's pretty insane. To give comparison, Zilliax has been played TWICE as often as #2, which is ooze. Even Sylvanas didn't hit those percentages and she was thrown into HoF for the reason of being way too overused. I feel like every single deck is just better with Zilliax thrown in, however as an expansion card it's unlikely we'll see anything done about it, he still doesn't affect the game as stupidly as Baku/Genn did.
It's healing for decks that can't run healing normally because those cards are very weak. This impacts the board, removes a potential threat for free and heals all in the same turn. Is it powerful? Of course.
With mechs running around in different forms, this card becomes even better because this is like leaving a beast alive against a Hunter. If you do, you were asking for activating their Kill Commands or other beast synergies.
If they nerf or change this card, it will simply allow aggro decks to gain more wins with a few more percentage points. I don't think allowing aggro decks to thrive is a good idea.
Basically, I see this card potentially getting nerfed or HOF'd, but I dont know if we are at that point yet. I think it will cause more issues than it fixes.
It's balanced card, reason it's used so much because of it's multifunctions so much roles in one card, removal, heal, taunt, magnetic mech and divine shield keeps it alive
I'm sick of seeing Zilliax in almost every deck. Sure, he's not necessarily gonna win you the game by himself. But he sure as heck makes sure you don't lose easily. Either remove the lifesteal (and increase health by 1 or so), and/or remove the Mech-tag.

It is most definitely one of the strongest cards in the game at the moment, but I don't think that's necessarily a problem. Everyone has access to it, and since it can be played in pretty much any deck, it doesn't do anything to promote a single archetype above all others (ie Patches only worked only in pirate decks, so gave rogue and warrior a big advantage over other decks). Since everyone has access to it, it kind of balances things out.
The other thing to consider is that the standard meta is currently very light on anti-aggro tools, so without having zillax available, you can pretty much through most midrange strategies out of the window. They'd just be too slow and not have enough tools to have any chance against the already overpowered aggro decks floating around, like tempo rogue. I could only imagine a nerf to this card being warranted if aggro decks had almost zero chance of competing, and given that rogue is nearly 30% of the meta right now, that's obviously not the case.

While not as annoying as Pirate-decks, Zilliax does clearly benefit certain decks (Mech-hunter, Warrior Boom decks next to being already ridiculously beneficial in any deck.

Well sure, but there aren't really any dominant mech decks at the moment. Mech Hunter is tier 2 and mech paladin is probably tier 3 if not tier 4
It's a busted card but one that most like. I compare it sludge belcher. In decks that are pure tribal mech it actually is OP, the number is times i''ve used him to heal 20 health or close to that is insane...is practically reno.

"It's a card that everyone has access to." - Not exactly true, but most people yes
"It has tons of counters." - False; it has Rush and Magnetic and has immediate impact.
"It has tons of synergy." - True.
"It rarely swings games." - False.
"It can be a key comeback mechanic, though." - True.
"It can barely keep you alive to finish the race to lethal." - Weirdly phrased. Not sure what you mean.
"It is a wonderfully designed card, neither too OP or too weak." - Subjective. I think it's very strong.
"It is a safe craft for veteran and new players alike." - True.
It's certainly strong, but probably not nerf-worthy. I guess if it's in nearly 100% of decks then maybe it should be considered.
You have to have created this thread for attention and not because you actually believe Zilliax deserves a "hotfix" lmao

Strange situation - although the card isn't close to broken, it fits the nerf criteria because it is in almost every deck.
