Fits well with cards like Janali but with odd mage rotating Janali is nowhere near as good.
So typically minions that get transformed are 1-2 mana worse. Taking the bad case of 2 mana. You will need to transform at least a 7 drop for good value (assuming it's not damaged) 7+3 = 5+5. If you evaluate random as 1 mana worse than you need at least a 5 drop. So you do need to generally hit a big minon. Transforming their's is generally not good.
This card isn't bad but might not be nearly as good as people think. I'd put it at "playable" and that's on the optimistic side.
I mentioned this on the reveal thread repeating here:
In the reveal video it was used on a Spiteful Summoner a 7 cost but it looked like he got two 4 cost minions. Maybe the minions summoned have a combined cost equal (rounded up) to the original?
edit - I was apparently wrong he used it on another 4 drop too (twinspell)
you can play a big hand mage type of deck and there are a lot of strong battlecry minions in that deck that would be perfect targets.. mountain giant, missles guy, astromancer, and other strong battlecries….

It was used on Spiteful Summoner to get 2 7/7s which are 7 drops and then the twinspell was used on Griftah which is a 4 drop to get the 2 4 cost minions.
I think this card is usable in many siturations, but usually really bad.
Cast on own minion: I dont really see the mage minions to cast this on. Many random minions dont have great stats, especially Boomsday has lots of them and getting Value out of this card needs an 8 mana + minion so it cant be played in the same turn as the minion you want to cast it on. This could be good for Hunter though, I have the feeling they switched up this with Vereesa to make these cards horrible instead of really strong.
Cast on enemy minion: No matter what cost the enemy minion has, your opponent starts with 2 all-new and ready minions in the next turn. Bad.
Also, I dont see the Cube in this card. Cube is neutral (and was never played in Mage), gives you guaranteed good cards (Charge) and is actually a 5 mana 4/6 and not a Spell. It also has deathrattle synergie for Play Dead and Terrorscale Stalker what gave it the popularity in Hunter.
Mage players can't handle this. The salt thread will overflow with complaints about how the game is rigged against their genius when this thing backfires on them.

It's not bad on Voodoo Doll -- two cards and six mana to summon two 3-drops and kill an enemy minion. That's basically a free hard removal.
Why do people think the purpose of this cards is in destroying enemy minions? You'll do that only on Hyena and such or maybe to breach through the last taunt...
The card may find use in aggro / tempo / swarm Mage with small stuff (Khadgar, mechs, bombs, tokens, deathrattles) while controlling the board with cheap, freeze spells, spirit... Here you don't care for better evolve results. It's all about swarming, pressure, stickiness...
Another use is in slower, control, big / big hand mages, if you would like to get better evolve results, throw Giants and stuff... or simply evolve Janalai.
How can this card be printed at 3 mana? Theres so much value this card is insane, this with khadgar will be scary
Edit: oh my God this with giants is going to be broken, big hand mage could pull off 2 mountain giants for 6 mana assuming your hand is full
Edit 2: oh my God banana bafoon spell cycle huge hand mana whore mage inc get ready boys I might as well make the deck for you at this point, its gonna be nasty
Khadgar + 7 cost and above enemy minion/s + double Conjurer's Calling= almost full giant board. Seems like this is quite effective against Big Priest in wild.

Insane trade value. Attack into a minion (kill it or seriously damage it) then cast this on yours.

So If I have a giant on board turn 8, I can lay down Khadgar, attack for 8, then fill the board with giants? Seems busted.

Battlecry cards like Former Champ are also good.

With Khadgar this seems quite good

If this card fails, Mage will fail, too.

Zilliax? Kill a minion, restore 3 life and get x2 random 5 manas minion for 8 manas, don't looks bad to me.
6 manas 4/2 charge divine shiled looks a good option too.
Damn....
Its good if you need to clear an out of control minion with buffs.
This is metadef.
Run this with any minion that can cost 0 and you have crazy good stuff
Kabal Crystal Runner and Corridor Creeper to list 2

Khadgar +Former Champ + this = six 5-drops
Both will be out of standard
