This is a strong card as long as you have a deck that can afford to take a turn off by swinging it back.
It's a super cool and nicely designed card, too. I really hope a late game control/combo shaman exists again because it has some of the coolest cards that aren't seeing much play.
Ok so the game is moving away from infinite value. That leaves 3 grindy control decks: Shaman, Warrior, and Rogue. Rogue has the worst healing, but makes up for it with insane value and tempo. Shaman has lots of value generators and is ok at tempo, but lacks consistent defence and explosive plays. Warrior has the healing and value, but lacks the tempo.
Wow guys I think blizzard is actually learning to balance the game.

I also like the direction they are going with these cards, but I don't think we should jump to conclusions. We've only seen 4 legendaries om the set.
reminds me a lot of kazakus. i don't think it will be quite as strong just because it costs 7, but getting both her battlecry and the battlecry off the horror with shudderwock could be interesting.

Formerly Sneeds. Twitch merge locked me out of my old account :(
*Edit - just remembered Healing Rain is rotating, my opinion is still unchanged on the card
this won't be for agro due to the 2-turn set-up, that would be too slow for agro normally. they rather run leeroy jenkins to close the game immediatly. Midrange on the other hand could use the spells you listed under agro.
This is the card type i like. It´s not meta defining but very fun to play and has the potential to win you games. Fitting shaman by beeing not too reliable :-). Since it´s two casts maybe more of a fun card ....
While there is no confirmation about any of this, the whole targeting ordeal of the Horror has me wondering:
A) the Horror will "read itself" and if it reads, for example, "cast Lightning Bolt" then its Battlecry will target something;
B) as someone speculated, the Horror's spells might actually follow a pattern: the first batch of spells will consist of targeting spells whilst the second will consist of NON targeting spells (or possibly both?);
the latter could add more consistancy but also take away potential from the Horror; also, just imagine a selection between Voltaic Burst, Beakered Lightning and Totemic Might all in the same batch; that s*** would make me cringe. An interesting/fun thing, with Kazakus-like vibes; will see how it will work.

Peter Whalen confirmed that first selection of spells will be "all spells from Shaman pool" and second selection will only be non targetable spells. So Horror can have 2 non-targetable spells but not 2 targetable spells.

That is not completely true as I understood it. The 2nd can be a targeted spell, but ONLY if your first choice was a non targetable spell.

Did he say that in a Tweet? I can't find that info anywhere.
you guys are right, i dont know why i even bother anymore.
this card doesn't win you the game on the spot, therefore its 1600 dust and i dont know why i thought otherwise.
building your deck around shitty elementals that don't work and requiring set up > unconditional effect in a deck with actually good cards
apparently
Lol, I don't think people are saying this is a bad card, just not THAT great either. And Kalimos is not a build around card in even shaman (for instance), but it is very useful in that you know you can be guaranteed of an immediate life gain if you need it, DD if you need it, or an AOE if you need it. It's definitely saved my bacon many times. It usually isn't that hard to trigger and I'd hardly call fire elemental or fireplume "shitty" cards that don't work. Plus Kalimos is at least a 7/7.
Feels pretty comparable to 5 mana spell Kazakus.. People played Kazakus for the possibility to be able to change a losing situation into a good one. 3.5/5 for now.

They'll figure it out eventually.
The idea of a super greedy Reno-Shudderwock Shaman in Wild is suddenly becoming very tempting...
An amazing tool for a control shaman, but with healing rain and crushing hand rotating, it's gonna be harder to get value out of this.
This card will be in every shaman deck for its duration in standard.
Control? Get yourself an extra Healing Rain or Rain of Toads
Aggro? How about Bloodlust #3 or an extra Lava Burst
Fighting for Board? Voltaic Burst and Lightning Storm
This card is a shaman essential

Unpopular opinion: Rogue is OP

Too bad Murmuring Elemental is rotating.
Shaman has gotten a lot of great legendaries each and every expansion, this being another great addition, now if only they could get.
Some good rares and commons that help them win games.
In a control deck this card has crazy value. With the rotation I think Thrall is going to have a decent comeback!
With Ziliax and Omega Mind, it should be fine.
i cant wait for the hagatha x dred fanfictions
