Very good and mature answer from you here. It is strange that I have chosen a positive scenario, right? Point is, lackeys are great sources of tempo and rogue is a difficult class to scare with early snowbally minions ( also, I'll have my own hench, too)
Did you notice that current version of tempo rogue plays a freaking 3/2 for 4 mana. It is even slower) Also, the very same tempo rogue plays 4 mana 4\4. Worse than Yeti! And they call it a tempo deck. Pffff.
And there is why i am disapointed. Rogue had several types of decks since release and all of them were run into ground by blizzard. My latest disapointment is thief rogue. I still feel like EVIL card has to be stronger. At least it should let u DISCOVER. But Blizzard hates fun and consistency, In most cases its 4 cost 1/5 w8 till u get smashed by oponent . So on turn 5 u will have 1/5, 1/1 2/3 and maybe a spell and probably goiing vs something stupidly big.
But wanna hear other scenarios ? Hunter will outvalue u Baited arrows, explosive traps and such . Shaman will ... idk a lot stuff rotates for him. Paladin will dude u up. Can mage still play Janalai ?
Eh u are right but that is why u run stuff that will yield some value with card draw. I realy wish they will stop printing overpriced spells for rogue ( yes HoF Prep) and to get some way for lifesteal.
Lashers are rotating so Malygos is down as otk. Odd/even are no more. Thief (espionage) is inconsistent as ever. Vilespine is rotating. No more eggs. Tar creeper is out. Along with aftermentioned fireflies.
Holly hell. What will i actualy put in deck .... Eh i will just go and play wild.
with Fire Fly gone, minions that generate minions will be in demand for rogue, Is it as good as Fire Fly? no. Are the cards you get out of it better than Flame Elemental, yes.
Great in arena to say the least, probably good enough eventually in constructed
Eh, that 1/5 body is what is going to keep this card from seeing a lot of play. The stats just aren't there, as cool as the design is. You can't play this on turn 3 because it requires a combo, and a 1/5 body later in the game is pretty much a waste. The lackeys are neat, but not impactful enough and a bit too random.
It remind's me a lot of Ravencaller. Better 1 drops but a harsh condition. It may be good if the meta is not so fast in the next expansion but I can see it failing miserably if the meta is full of aggro. Depends on the rest of the expansion (and future lackeys) to see if this card gets played.
Pair these with Spirit of the Shark to either get four, then double battlecries if Spirit doesn't get hit with an AoE or random damage of some kind, could be fun!
1 attack on a 3-cost minion is painfully bad. To justify that it has to do something very very good, and this falls short. Plus with the combo requirement this 1-atk minion will more often be played on turn 4 or 5, and severely lose tempo on-board.
The Lackeys are quite similar to the toxins from Xaril, Poisoned Mind, probably a bit stronger on average, and that card saw some play. This card is 1 mana cheaper, has more stats, and gives you both cards immediately, but needs to be combo'd. I think it fits well into any midrange or aggressive rogue that runs some other combo cards.
ethereal might be good if it was from your and opponent class. another thing i was hoping for rogue was glyph of disguise that will change your hero and only hero for purpose of thievieng. hope toggwaggle is dk

In most cases it is 4 mana 1\5 is simply an untrue statement. It is hard to have a rational discussion when you say this nonsense. You are literally saying that the most common use of this card is to coin + this + waste 1 mana (not even spending it on the lackey you got) No one will ever do that.
What decks can it go in? Well I can't predict new archetypes after seeing 1 rogue card and 2 neutrals... It fits in tempo rogue, it does what non full-face tempo rogue wants to do. Would this deck be good enough? IDK. Would tempo rogue will have even better options to use But this is a very good card for tempo rogue. Just like, for example, Blink Fox, which is very good card, too but it just can't find its place in the constructed meta.
Seems like it should be 1 mana less as the lackeys have their own cost, although cheap minions do enable future combos easier so Im not sure about this one yet.
I kinda like the high health and the effects from lackeys though, could be a useful card in some control-like deck if there are more support for it.

At the very least they are filling the firefly hole in rogue as combo activators.
Its that si7 agent you can play t3/4 on an empty board.
The Lackeys are very cool.

It is fitting that the first Lackey card revealed is a Rogue card; they are best suited to make use of cheap cards.
I missed the combo part at first, wasnt getting people calling this bad. Now I do.
Very good card, 1/5 for 3 is good. Generate 2 1 drops which can be used to start combos and the battlecries on the lackeys are very good for 1 drops.
Rusty Recycler
Ironic. It could recycle others, but not itself.

Voted 'playable' mainly due to it's arena quality :-)

Can't wait for someone in wild to evolve this into the Darkness

this is like Ravencaller but better.
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
