YES! This card effect is extremely potent when you construct your deck around it and Alarm-o-Bot already exists to make the deck more consistent by a lot (just like the MtG equivalent requires both Show and Tell + Sneak Attack in the deck).
Sneak & Show, I mean Alarm & Call here I come. :D
EDIT: Far Sight also slots perfectly into the plan, that's six(6) cards to enable your massive 8+ mana drops. Definitely warrants some serious testing. Naysayers lack vision.
Thing is, even if it DOES give you a very cheap huge minion (generally not all that likely, unless you hold onto it as a dead card until you set up the perfect conditions), it's still not that great for value unless it pulls trash or nothing for the opponent. If it's very good in the extremely favourable of circumstances, relatively weak in the average circumstances and outright bad in poor circumstances, it's in no way a good card.
This card would require a completely new shaman archetype. But rigth now, it sucks.
I like where this comment is going; There are a large number of cards this is utterly fantastic with. If this were to work in a late-game legendary deck, like you mentioned, you'd have to have a bunch of early removal and draw. That's eerily reminiscent of Miracle. There's no single big finisher, just a large amount of large minions.
shaman removal could probably keep the shaman afloat until turn 4 or 5. With decent draw, we may be able to expect to have a few of those good legendaries in hand. Since early minions were neglected in favor of draw, odds of getting a fantastic pull are pretty good. With all the aggro, odds are high your pull is better than their pull. By the time turn 6, 7, and 8 roll around, you can play the big minions straight-up, even if they sheep your first two, you should be in good shape.
Just an idea- I still think I would only play this if the meta was 80%+ aggro.
You are on the right track, and while kind of negative, WNxAr has a point, that right now the card isn't great. but you know what? A WHOLE LOT is going to change with 120+ cards added. Even now, though, I have been trying very hard to get heavy minion shaman deck to work and it is sooo close. I have a rendition that is a pretty good deck, and it uses a Far Sight. It is a late game card, and also helps with combos. This will help a lot when added to that deck.
The most success I have had with big, fat heavy minions is Crusher Shaman. Even in its current state, I can see this card being a huge boon to this deck. People seem to have no clue whatsoever that you manage your hand and deck creation to make this work in your favor. Sure, there is RNG, but you can prepare for it so it has the best chance of working. But if you just play your normal mid range shaman and throw this in there, then throw it down, "wheneva'" well, yeah, the card sucks.
I am sure some players will never, ever, add anything RNG to their decks. That is fine. But it is coming, whether you like it or not, and at some point, a standard, predictable archtype without new RNG cards just won't cut it anymore. People don't like change.
The only way to stop an ancestral spirited kel'thuzad is poly/hex, 16 damage, any mind control effect or equality shenanigans. If you're not mage or shaman or have sylvannas in hand you loose the game instantly.
I guess this card could also be useful if your opponent is top-decking and has no cards in hand. You could use it to put out a cheap 5+ mana minion and still have mana left to buff it or put out a second minion, without worrying about your opponent's minion.
Of course, setting up a deck for specific scenarios like this is not usually a good idea.
… I think i'm going to go an cry in the corner for a while...
Me too............... so disappointed about this card, in the same range of reincarnate. I hope that the druid one will be a good surprise once it come out cause i feel druid, shaman and paladin got the short hand of the stick in naxx class cards. These class have not innovate in forever ago.
Should work well in Crusher Shaman, Sparhawk. Sure, there is definitely risk here, as I have labeled them below, but smart play can moderate risk. And considering agro stresses us, added bonus there.
2 Lightning Bolt 2 Wild Pyromancer MEH 2 Earth Shock 2 Earth Elemental GREAT 2 Injured Blademaster GREAT (1 more mana, but a full 4/7) 2 Ancestral Healing 2 Hex 2 Azure Drake BAD BAD BAD (wonder if this card can be replaced?) 2 Sen'jin Shieldmasta GOOD, straight trade. 1 The Black Knight BAD 1 Faceless Manipulator BAD 1 Ragnaros the Firelord GREAT 2 Ancestral Spirit 1 Earthen Ring Farseer MEH 1 Mana Tide Totem MEH 2 Fire Elemental Bad later, great early at turn 4 2 Lightning Storm 1 Kel'Thuzad GREAT if any other minions on table
In all practical sense, there are a lot of times late game where all I have are heavy minions in my hand.
How is shieldmasta a straight trade? You are worse off than just directly playing it from your habd cause you give your opponent a monion as well. Also, why would run shieldmasta over blecher is beyond me.
You have 4 minions i see and KT is iffy as hell even then. I rate your deck rather gimmicky more than anything.
I will try to make any card work. I have made a pretty aggressive shaman deck that uses this card for a very strong mid/late game. I think it might need a bit more draw, but it's just the initial deck.

I think you mean KT+Reincarnate on turn 6, but yeah, double KT on your field spells gg. But's it's a 3 cards combo...

Er... 3 card combos are really easy to get. Maybe not by turn 6 but yeah... And also I did mean ancestral spirit, but reincarnate is also fine. Using reincarnate makes the play weaker to equality (and general AoE) but stronger against mind control effects. Using reincarnate also means that it's easier to kill both kel'thuzads simultaneously because they can both be weakened before striking the final blows. I also forgot to mention that silence utterly destroys the ancestral spirit variant, but it doesn't hurt the reincarnate variant that much.
Or that useless Zombie Chow during the late game, 4 mana to play a 2/3, that value.
If I ever played this card, with my luck, it will be like a reverse Soulfire, like of Soulfire targeting and discarding my best minion in hand, this card will dump the worst card in my hand onto the board.
This is the best idea in this thread, deck around this as a win condiditon seems quite good and reasonable.
The only problem is that Shaman doesn't have reliable draw mechanics or survival ability (especially in this aggro heavy meta) to last long enough to pull this off. If Auctioneer doesn't get nerfed, maybe a shaman miracle deck could utilize a combo like this....but without Preparations it's still a stretch. Don't get me wrong I do see some potential with this card but the same could be said about reincarnate and look how used that card is......this card just requires too perfect a situation......

I think it has its uses... like ignoring overload costs.
Also, Shaman is well equipped to deal with the potential drawback of the card.
Even if it draws out your opponent's Rag or something you can Hex it right away.
Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.

This is horrifying. If you can get this card to work you can instantly win games.... turn 6 Ancestor's Call get Kel'Thuzad Ancestral Spirit GG.

A decent tempo card imo, but far too expensive to be viable imo. Honestly this card seems like it would fit better in ramp druid
Not to be used on ranked ladder.

Yeah people are dismissing this card as trash right away without even seeing it in action.
Of course it will be trash in your cookie-cutter Shaman deck.
This is one of those cards that you have to build around in order for it to work.
This is a Timmy card. It needs a deck to be designed arount it. Think big, high-value minions with ways to cheat them into play early.
Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.

Just what we need, more cards like Mindgames. Awesome job Blizzard!
That could help get the foe-reaper into play...
And people were complaining about Shieldmaiden, lol...
