Very good nerf when I spent around 4k dust for otk pally, ty blizz....
Glad ya got the shaft, Shaft. Might as well spent all that time / money getting good at solitaire.
Time for you to interact with other people...
What a salty terrible comment. You're throwing around the buzz words that the streamers and youtubers toss at it too so I'm glad you think with your own mind. It has been a good deck for 2-4 months, definitely not overly represented, and extremely beatable. Kap the only thing I know I can sleep soundly of is I'll never have to play you because single digit ranks or legend aren't in your favor. What a joke.
This is totally anecdotal but today as I was playing HW Paladin, every time I went to play equality i thought, "if this was 4 mana, how much does it disrupt my play?" and honestly I don't think it would have much. The only time was when i wanted to use equality and consecration on 6. You shouldn't really need a pyro+equality on turn 4 or 5
I think combo paladins will have to be tweaked a little. Maybe tar creeper for some early game, maybe force in a corpsetaker package or something. All you'd have to put in would be corpsetaker and a zilliax or something, idk. Equality on 4 into zilliax on 5 doesn't sound terrible.
I think i'll go from two equality and one shrink ray to two shrink ray and one equality. Maybe not though, i'll have to actually play with it to know.
Equality at two was great because it was flexible but it was hardly carrying the combo paladin archetype. you have to also consider that two snowbally aggro cards just got removed from their decks (cold blood and flametongue). Those are two of the main times you need to equality on 3-4 to avoid dying.
it would be fair to change health to 2 rather than changing mana cost. Consecration combo is okay but other combos with equality are ridiculously strong.
Equality was perfectly fine at 2 mana. It always required an activator (Pyro/Cons) in order to wipe the board. The two card requirement was already a balanced aspect for Equality’s board clear potential. Now, it will cost 6 with Pyro or 8 with Cons (Twisting Nether laughs). Equality died because of Even Paladin’s ability to pump out a ton of damage too quickly (Equality+Avenging Wrath) , but even that was a two card combo that was pretty balanced. I just don’t think this was necessary.
I totally support this statement.
Also people forget, but there are situations when you have play equality on it’s own just to remove one or two minions by trading into them. For example, to remove a Lich King. The rest of the board remains with one health and same attack value in such cases.
Hunter mark 2 mana for 1 minion this one 4 mana for all minions make sense though.
Paladin can stall still turn 6 in most case so I dont really see the problem. Turn 6 you more likely draw your pyro than turn 4 anyway
I agree with this. I don't get why people are freaking out over this nerf. 6 mana board clear is still very, very strong.
It is very strong when you spend only one card, 6 manas 2 cards combo for a board clear sucks, this card was killed and never will see play again like warrior axe.
3 manas will be a serious hit but the card can survive, 4 manas is far beyond you can pay for a setup card.
Old equality + consecration? Two card combo, check, 6 mana to pull off, check, people still played it? Check.
This nerf will do nothing except make paladins early game survival slightly weaker, that's all.
This is the plan B when you don't draw Pyro to clear the board for 4 manas.
Now the plan A is Pyro + Equality on 6 and the plan B is Equality + Consecration on 8 manas, 2 cards combo to do the same as one warlock do for the same cost? In a class laking any other way to deal with the board? This nerf completely remove any kind of control paladin out of the existence, now paladin play odd or don't play at all.
This nerf will be awful, control paladin is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar from be an opressive deck, kill one of your core cards is a terrible move.
PS: I only play with paladin and hunter when I have quest for them and still think this nerf is unfair to the class.
Don't forget that twisting nether also kills minions with divine shield.
Pyro equality does not. Additionally I don't get why blizzard would try to make control paladin more versatile by forcing them to always include two pyros in their decks.

Surely this isn't the best you can contribute.
You can criticize any archtype, but throwing dirt in the face of a random nerf victim isn't helping anyone.
Meh, people carry their salt with them. I really hate seeing people whine when we get a round of nerfs, fire with fire is ok sometimes, as nerfs have always been good for the health of the game and I want more and more often.
I don't like the fact equality is nerfed, I always loved slower paladin decks, but It's no chip on my shoulder and will gladly take for the price of seeing the likes of coldblood and emerald spellstone get the nerfbat.
Unpopular opinion here but I still think that even @ 4 mana Equality is still playable in slow paladins. Pyro will probably be mandatory though as Consecration alone will be too slow to combo with it.
Equality will still be very good against Midrange decks, you will just need something else to combat Aggro.
I thought the odd/even mechanic was cool, but the fact we keep getting these stupid double nerfs shows how bad it is for the game. I'm afraid that even when Baku and Genn go out of standard, they will still be considered during nerfs.

Again, has nothing to do with it: It's simply that blizzard can't create any AoE-Removal for paladin because Equality is far too strong.
exactly why they nerfed it, so paladin can get another AoE, but its annoying how all paladin cards are 4 mana !
Yeah, I remember a statement from Amaz back in 2014 or something.
When Paladin was in the dumpster ( cause of Rouges unnerved Auctioneer,Leeroy) and he said something like; Paladin would be such good class if the game would start at 4 mana... Not quite balanced but he has a point.
Having every powerful core card ( except maybe Aldor) starting at 4 , forces Blizzard to print every rotation some support for the early game.
Blizzard are sadistic as fuck pulling this on paladin. Equality isnt even run in most of the botty, boring ass flood the board decks that dominate the class now. Its already hard enough dealing with a full board at on turn 6 with equality consecrate. Are they really expecting us to survive to team 8 in that situation? For a two card combo? For 8 mana? Ridiculous.
Control pally is now dead because of Baku. Nj, Blizzard! The only good board clear for contol paladin even in Wild, that does not play anyway and seems that control paladin won't play until new expansion.
2 mana was absurd so even paladin player's shouldn't complain. Even players should feel lucky they didn't nerf it to 3.

I’m just pissed off by this change to be honest.

While shrink ray will get a look, it may only replace one copy, not both copies of equality.
Now obviously what's more likely to happen than that is people will just up and stop playing the decks.

There was a good combo for clearing the board on turn 6+
Equality + Consecration
Now the card itself is too expensive and the combo is available too late.
This is the worst nerf from this year.
Do you like to play with fire?
