I wonder if that's true only with this potion of heroism or every single buff card in general. If it isn't then it is an inconsistency, especially since potion of heroism works with Lynessa.

it holds equality and tarim enchantments too, its a weird card. Its because it pulls text from below the card, and since potion of heroism doesnt give a bottom text, its not an enchantment.
Has anyone tried running Hand of Protection to see if it gives bottom text
The enchantment buff text under a card tells you what is currently modifying the minion. When the Divine Shield is popped, the enchantment is no longer in affect and goes away.
If the prelate gets removed without losing divine shield, I'm guessing it will keep it when shuffled into the deck.

See to me that's weird though. If I Blessing of Kings my dude, should he only keep the +4/+4 as long as he hasn't been damaged or had his attack altered in any way? I'm not being a jerk I promise, I'm just using this as an example of how I view the interactions, etc :)

This sounds dumb, but if a minion is damaged, it still counts as having a buff, as you can heal it back up. If it's attack was modified, it has both enchantments, and one simply overrides the other. It's a very confusing and unintuitive interaction I admit.
Yeah, that's weird. My guess is that they don't put Divine Shield in the enchantments tab underneath the minion because you can clearly see that the minion has divine shield by looking at it.
it makes perfect sense to me. the card is considered an enchantment. the enchantment is lost upon taking damage. it's permanent unless a condition is met.
let's use an extremely unlikely example that conveys the point very well.
so you play prelate and put a blessing of kings on it. it is now a 4/5 and doesn't lose enchantments upon death and returns to your deck. now let's say it gets silenced. it goes to being a 1/2 with no abilities. now lets say that blizz adds reverse silence, restoring the minion to its normal state with its deathrattle. when it dies, it wouldn't retain the blessing of kings buff as the buff wouldn't be present on the minion.
it would be worth testing to see if the divine shield is retained if prelate dies from a direct kill like a deadly shot. i would like to see how that works.

or it's just more lazy coding on their part. there have been plenty of interactions that don't make sense over the years that were changed because of outcrys.

Potion of Heroism is worded like its a buff card, but it does not provide a persistent buff text under the card when it is cast upon a minion.
Maybe it's a good thing it's not given how prelate will break the game for the next month or so, but its inconsistent with the word text.
Should this be changed? or is it fine the way it is?
It's an enchantment, it should be changed to remain when he's played again imo. Like, if you get a buff off of Sunfury Protector, Defender of Argus or Fungalmancer it stays but with Potion of Heroism it doesn't? Seems weird.

the funny thing is I tested it and it doesnt

it is not a buff card, it won't be played as a buff card.
