I really like the design of this card. Even if it ends up failing, it's a welcome healthy step away from the notorious reputation of Pirates being the aggro tribe.
Why doesn't it say Recruit instead of "Summon.......from your deck"?
Cause recruit is exclusive fom K&C, is a bit dumb. But is the same case with the "Joust" mage cards from that expansion that did said the complete effect instead of just, Joust
Probably the best combo to do with this (in Wild) would be something like :
- Play Skycap'n Kragg then "gang up/Lab Recruit" him --> Turn 10 : play Captain Hooktusk to recruit them , then Preparation + Cannon Barrage (need a coin/taurissan tic) = 12 charge damage and 3x5 randomly splited damage.
Other decent combo following the same steps would be to recruit 3 Southsea Squidface and impale them to boost weapon by +6 (kingsbane ?) , or to recruit 3 Cursed Castaway for good board control and draw three combo cards.
Whaterver the idea is, the ironic thing is that you actually DON'T want to play her in a pirate deck.
...and if Tomb Pillager were still standard, I would love to give this combo a try. The danger is, if you don't go second, your combo becomes unreliable. In wild, I may try this with Skycap'n Kragg instead of Southsea Captain though--that is 27 damage (15 random in intervals of 3 and 12 charging minion damage, leaving 18/21 in stats on board)
Hey you have WANTED! to tray to get the coin, there is still a chance
Stats are terrible for an 8 cost minion, battlecry is great but pirates are like meh atm. Had high hopes too since rogue is my main class but all we got so far are meme cards and mediocre class cards. RIP
You probably want to use this like Kathreena Winterwisp. That is to say you probably want to play it with a very small set of pirates, preferably the biggest you can. Only problem there is that there are no big pirates (yet) so the best thing you could pull with this is probably Ticket Scalper.
Seems playable at worst, very good at best. I suppose best case scenario is to go Captain Hooktusk into both Cursed Castaways and Southsea Captain, and you can even Coin + Prep + Cannon Barrage to deal an additional 15 damage.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
I don't know... The card seems bad at first glance. IMO this might be good in april after another expansion if they print more pirate cards, and if not, just another Rogue legendary that's not really competitive. There is hope that some of the unrevealed cards are good pirates that makes this worthy, but I think that the Shark and Hooktusk fall into meme category. Sure there are good combos with this card and Castaways/Deckhands/Captains but it's just a solid tempo swing, not a win condition for too many resources.
Holy crap this is garbage. 8 mana 6/3. Wow. Man rogues are getting crap yet again. O wait we can this with the dumb shark and have 9/5 that gets silenced woohoo.

I really like the card a lot, but I don't think it will see much play. Pirates want to finish the game before turn 8. Unless I am missing something this is much to expensive to make it work. Maybe the new rogue spell might help do the a final push late in the game, but I am just not sure it will do. Specially with druid having unlimited armor and being very frequent in ladder I think pirate rogue is gonna be pushed out of the meta rather soon than later.

This ain't it chief
Those who are given more in life, must not cling to it, but risk it all at every moment!

Kind of an underwhelming effect..

I think this might need a few more mid-range fat pirates to make this work, right now you've got Cursed Castaway and Ticket Scalper and Southsea Captain and... that's about it.
Not a great card, you need a lot of Pirates in your deck to make sure this doesn't whiff. A 6/3 for 8 is so bad that a whiff is killer.

Join me at Out of Cards!
Maybe they'll make effects that work with.
"With great power comes great responsibility."
"A gun is a liar's weapon."
Because recruit and summon are not the same according to the devs.

such salt much BM.
Because they will have rush, this is one of few comeback cards for rogue in years.
A little costly for the class but the effect is very nice.
Yeah, and Dragoncaller Alanna is a 9 mana 3/3 right? And N'Zoth, the Corruptor is just a 10 mana 5/7, etc.
