so I have been thinking about it some more and I have come to the conclusion it's much better than I originally thought. that said I'd still like to see more actual pirate minions supporting it and I am getting more and more irritated as they have failed to show up.
Why not: "Battlecry: Recruit 3 Pirates. Give them Rush."?
Probably not wanting to excessively fill the text with keywords, but I agree it's stupid to make something a mechanic and then not use it.
I think it's to show similarities in between Hooktusk and Patches (he has the same version of text)

The best way to actually do something well is have no idea what you're doing. Then what you're doing will become what you have no idea you're doing, at which point since you're doing what you're doing without knowing what you're doing you're doing what you're doing without knowing you're doing it.
Until we see the makings of a decent midrange pirate core (which we haven't seen yet) I think you probably just want to treat this card like you'd treat Kathrena. The effect is so powerful that you'll just live with occasionally drawing ticket scalpers/charged devilsaurs/etc.

Basically yeah. But much like Kathrena it's just a really powerful card in a bubble. Potentially very powerful in the right deck. But even the current best case scenario is 5x3 damage into your enemy's board. Potentially with 3-5 card draw. That's good, but I'm not sure
And the card's it's pulling aren't godawful on their own, just kinda low impact or underwhelming.
But I dunno if a midrange rogue deck makes any sense, and I dunno what that deck's win condition is. I guess it could find a place as an engine in a burgle rogue style deck.
I don't think this is a control style card. It's more likely the top of your curve (with Lich King) in something midrange/tempo-y.
Guys, its summon, not recruit.
Hi my dood.
TrumpSC: I made the cringiest card reveal video conceivable!

for all the wild players:
Captain Hooktusk seems to fit in a good midrange package with 2x Southsea Squidface & 2x Naga Corsair (Naga Corsair could maybe be swapped for Ticket Scalper in non even decks)

Changed my vote to meta defining. This card is great. 7 games in and no loses yet. Great card.
I voted bad bad at first for clarification.
