Rereads... Yes. I somehow assumed that it is only minions. It makes it far better for midrange hunters than I initially assumed. Flanking strike looks better and running both looks excessive but rotation is near.
A 5/5 battlecry: deal 3 might not even see much play. This is absolute garbage
You surely isnt good at the game. Fire elemental is one of the best 6 drops ever made, and a 5/5 battlecry: deal 3 would ever be better. You really live in another dimension.
A 5/5 battlecry: deal 3 might not even see much play. This is absolute garbage
What? Bull. That would be a slightly better fire elemental, and fire elemental is good.
As far as how this card actually is, it seems roughly borderline playable to me.
Compared to Flanking Strike- this is usually a deal 2 damage to a minion and get a 5/5, which does seem better. Of course, it costs 1 more and needs to actually kill a minion to get the devilsaur, but it can also deal 3 to the face to finish someone off, and can kill a dangerous 3 health minion in a pinch.
I'd guess this is somewhat more likely to not see significant play than so, and it's never going to be an all star, but I'd give it a chance.
Amazing Arena card. This card has insane tempo. Remove a minion and get a 5/5? Hell yeah.
Compare it to Feeding Time or Bane of Doom. Both are strong arena cards. I think people are looing at a Standard point of view only. And then, even as a 5 mana 5/5 deal 2 damage it is insane.
Edit: Ok, maybe not as insane as I think it is with UI and such cards being a common card in Standard. But I still stand by the fact that it will be a good Arena card.

While that might be true, this is not what this card is. Compared to fire elemental, it looses one attack, 1 damage when applied to a minion, a condition to the body. I dont think that this fits in any hunter list. Flanking strike might not be able to go face, but it is consistent.
Also, people comparing this to bane of doom: no one needs bane of doom. Especially not hunter, where most wing strikes are cut to tightness.
And people saying it's a combo with hunters mark? Congratulations, you have found a way to consistently get vanilla 5/5s for 5.
And then, even as a 5 mana 5/5 deal 2 damage it is insane.
It's not "5 mana 5/5 deal 2 damage", but: 5 mana, kill 1-2 HP minion, then summon 5/5.
Or even better: deal 3 DMG for 5 mana.
Why deal 3 mana 3-5 DMG with Kill Command, when instead you can carry this card in your deck and deal 5 mana 3 DMG to that same face?
Why summon 5/5 from a board sticky Egg on turn3+coin with Play Dead, when you can wait an opponent arrange for us 1-2 HP minion on turn 5 and then summon that mean 5/5 beast, or if it doesn't work, we can simply wait for turn 6 to play an additional card, Hunter's Mark?
Why remove a Zoo minion on turn 3 or 4, when you can wait turn 5-6-7 to deal 3 DMG on one of 6 minions on the fungalmancered board... or 2 DMG, to drop 5/5 for the tempo?
You can compare a 5/5 battlecry: deal 3 to a fire elemental and that sees play in even shaman. However, this card is much worse than a fire elemental because it requires a specific requirement that doesn't always set up the way that you want to.

Of course. In HS and card games in general cards that _look_ nice and powerful don't work. Cards that work are CONSISTENT, OVERSTATED and CHEAPER then average (which translates: earlier).
I'm argumenting all this, because of experience I have from playing hundreds of Deathrattle Hunter games. The power of the meta game is so high that opponents can easily deal with multiple 5/5s I constantly summon from sticky eggs and cubes as early as of turn 3. Mostly, they are not your winning condition, just a phase. Even Kathrena Winterwisp is often not enough, but for most you wait for Deathstalker Rexxar!!! I dare to say, without it Deathrattle Hunter would be barely a T2 deck.
Conditional damage & 5/5 tempo "swing" after turn 5 is nothing.
I feel most people are missing the point of the card. It’s not that bad and you’ll get overkill to happen more often then you think. Trade in a weaker minion, kill off the enemy minion with overkill, and replace your 1/1 with a 5/5 Devilsaur plus you’ve removed an enemy from the board. It’s a tech card.
Turn 7
Play Thalnos - hit a minion for 4 and summon a 5/5 devilsaur (5) spell damage (1) draw a card (1) targeted 4 damage (3)
Or
Turn 8 - tempo swing
Unleash the hounds - clear the board
Baited arrow - stomp an injured enemy.
Summon a 5/5 devilsoar. You play this combo when you can clear the board or match it. It’s not meant to be taken at face value. And worst case scenario, you don’t use it, it sits in your hand and you ping your opponent for 3 and win
This card is far too situational to ever see play. If you get to turn 5 and your opponent doesn't have a 1/2 health minion on board then this card is completely dead. There is basically no upside even if you have a 2 health target as a 5/5 for 5 is below the vanilla stats curve.
If it was 4 mana it could have seen play as a 5/5 on turn 4 is a decent high roll scenario.
I love thatBane of Doom can get you 9 drop and no one still plays that! Surely no one would play it with a guaranteed 5/5!
In current standard we are talking about:
4 1 mana demons 2 2 mana demons 7 3 mana demons (one of them is lose all your cards) 6 4 mana demons 2 5 drops 2 6 drops 2 9 drops
On average it is much worse than 5/5 minion.
Also, everyone seems to forget about spell hunters. They got another board control tool against aggro and may come back to higher tiers and compete with deathrattle hunter.
The way I look at it, this is a Blackwing Corruptor that needs to kill something. And 3 damage is oftentimes the magic number to kill something. Of course, it depends on what deck you are playing against, but killing something with 3 damage is far from unrealistic. If tempo and zoo decks are around, this card should be quite good. Of course, Flanking Strike is still better.
EDIT: Whoops, did not see it required Overkill. Thought it was just "if it kills something". That indeed makes the card far worse.

this card is insane, people underrate the 3 damage
Bane of Doom that guarantees a 5/5? Strong card, people underrating this one.
Good with Hunter's Mark, and with how much Fire Fly is played this could be interesting as a one of in spell hunter

For when Flanking Strike rotates out of standard, a 5/5 and 3 damage for 5 mana seems pretty reasonable even with its condition.
The hard counter to Angry Chicken we always needed.

Tactical card Really nice
Exactly this, it feels ok this card, basically bane of doom minus the RNG and that never really saw play.
