This is another tech card. You play it when your opponent is low on cards. Then he/she reaches fatigue faster and you’re destroying 50% of their only options left to win :)
On a serious note I am not sure if this would fit control warlock. They already have enough tools to mess with combo decks. However, if combo decks becomes prevalent this could be a tech card. However, I am really not a fan of these kind of cards as there is no counter play to them.
Useless against aggro/midrange, Pretty bad against control ( your own deck gets halved as well ).
The only archetype this card is good against is combo and it's not even a sure win since 1) Combo decks tend to draw a lot and they have a lot of time to draw their combo pieces before turn 8 when you can play this 2) The combo pieces that remain in the deck might not even get destroyed since each piece has a 50% chance of getting discarded, if only 1 or 2 pieces are in the deck that's a solid chance for the warlock to only help you by discarding the useless cards.
So I think this is a bad card that will only get played if the meta suits it perfectly. Also..the people that say that anti-combo cards should only delay the combo...don't make me laugh. Delaying the combo does almost nothing when you play a control deck unless it's for like 5 turns or something. Loatheb was mainly used by midrange decks to prevent board clears not by control decks to delay a combo by 1 measly turn while their nonexistent pressure wins them the combo matchup. I can't help but feel that combo players like bullying control decks and getting free wins because ,,well I drew my combo pieces and my opponent can't do anything against it so I win instantly,, . Well then, don't mind control players doing the same to you when they draw their bad against every other matchup anti-combo tech.
What kind of warlock deck plays this? You're destroying your own deck as well and it costs you 8 mana to do it. It also makes your hero power worse as you get closer to fatigue. As expensive as Rin is, at least you get to keep your own deck and you got a big demon in the end. Not to mention you destroy your opponent's entire deck. You might end up not destroying your opponent's combo and killing your own win condition. Some tech card that is...
Blizzard should make a special stream lessons or youtube videos in which they explain the the only way hs should be played is with supa dupa 1000 IQ control/combo homebrewed decks and 30 minutes long match is a minimum time period that proves you're not braindead blah blah something etc.
I probably have to read all of the comments here, before I get a clear view of this card, but I will say this:
I think this might be unplayable just because 1) it's really expensive, 2) it ruins your deck as well (which is a good thing, or this card would have been broken), 3) doesn't develop a board. This will be extremely frustrating against some control and combo decks, but the positive side is how the warlock player will also get hit by the blast. Since we don't get to choose which cards will get removed and which not, this makes it a bit incosistent (imagine how your combo opponent has gathered most of the pieces and this spell doesn't kill the last one in their deck). I could probably make a working fatigue deck with Baleful Banker and Glinda Crowskin/Augmented Elekk, but dunno how viable it will be. Sometimes fatigue doesn't matter if I lose my powerful board clears and I'm unable to survive a huge wave.
Frustrating card to lose to, maybe it's really unhealthy for the game. But I think the negative sides overwhelm the positive ones. Astral Communion didn't see any competitive play, but only casual one.
Also - this won't be played, if the meta consists of aggro and mid-range decks. Even against control I'd argue that it's still not worth it. We have Rin, the First Disciple for that case. And I forgot about the Demonic Projects and Dirty Rats in wild.
who is going to play it against aggro? It will sit in your hand, alongside other situational tools that are too slow against aggro.
“If you burn your Death Knight, it’s gg lul”
No, if you burn a single essential combo piece from them, it’s gg. Otherwise, you don’t play it against control until you yourself have drawn all the cards you want in that matchup.
My god, some of you are so, so bad at evaluating cards.

RIP Combo decks
Biggest fucking troll card.
If cancer was a card it will be this one.
Aside from combo decks, or Mecha'Thun decks this card alone destroy whole control meta, that barely even exist.
I need to try t2 bloodblome into this.

Wow strong anti combo decks card
Won’t this just become a one of in most decks and you play it if you verse combo and hope you don’t loose you’re good cards

This is so unhealthy for the game, it should not be printed. It literally ruins fun of other players trying to complete their fun combos!
And why do warlock get all the card manipulation mechanics? Maybe give it to a glass like rogue who could have some flavour of sabotaging?

Ready for action!
OMG, why is this not a neutral big minion with this effect? F*** uninteractive combo sh**!
At least more fun and interactive than combo decks.
Came here to say 'Perfectly balanced', but you know what...
We asked for new disruption tools.
HERE THEY ARE BABY

Inb4 imagine casting this spell from Yogg-Saron, Hope's End and Deck of Wonders.

Dibbity don't touch that!
Fun card, but quite hard to rate without hands on.
Great give this to the class who already have stuff for this, maybe give the rest something
Bloodbloom
With a half decent aggro deck, it could be a turn 2 win
Hate it. Too much potential for grief play. This is not a card that should exist in the game.
