I've noticed that any copies of Shudderwock that are summoned from the original Shudderwock on board also have their battlecrys triggered, yet any other battlecry is only triggered after you play it from your hand as it should do. Is this intentional, or just a bug that's been carelessly missed?
I have seen some very strange behaviour with Shudderwock creating more battlecries than I think it should be, but I'm not sure if it's counting battlecries from previous Shudderwocks and such. I've seen similarly strange things happen with Tess Greymane, where I expect a certain result from the previous cards played, but it happens differently. (usually with shudderwock it's more things happening than expected, whereas with Tess it seems to miss things)
The second shudderwock triggers the battlecry of the first shudderwock, which retriggers all battlecries a second time. Straightforward.
Then things get weird fast. The third shudderwock triggers the first, which itself triggers the first and second. The third shudderwock also triggers the second, which also triggers the first and second.
So the first shudderwock plays all battlecries once. The second plays all battlecries twice. The third plays all battlecries six times. The fourth will play them 24 times. This is why the animations take forever to complete.
The sequence is simply n!
If you had infinite turn time, the damage potential (with two lifedrinkers) on the next turn of ten 1-mana shudderwocks is therefore (2!+3!+4!+5!+6!+7!+8!+9!+10!+11!)*6 = 263,728,272 damage to face. This is why the whole Azalina as a counter theorycraft will simply not work; you will never gain enough armor to overcome the followup turn.
Ummmm... No, I think you are mistaken somewhere along the way. Shudderwock does not have the summoned clones activate their battlecries. If Grumble adds them back, then yes, those copies, once played repeat the battlecries. But not before.
