Would I play a 2-2 weapon for 4? Nah. 2-3 weapon for 4? Nah. 2-4 weapon for 4? Nah. 2-5 weapon for 4? Nah.
... Gutter trash.
But would you play a 2-mana 2/2 weapon with this effect if it said "battlecry: add Leeching Poison to your hand"? Because that's kind of what this weapon is.
Completely different. In your scenario I can play the weapon on turn 2 (or 1 with coin!) to keep aggro under control and save the leeching poison for later. The actual weapon can never be played until turn 4 (3 w/ coin). That's a huge difference. Look what the war axe nerf did to Warrior.

I'm not gonna pretend mana cost doesn't matter but it's really inaccurate and unfair to compare two different classes' cards.
brb I need to type up a copypaste disclaimer for every card evaluation post I make.

I'm really sad to see this card. It means they're gonna print another bullshit thief rogue card ('cus the only one left in standard will be Hallucination and I refuse to print they'd print such a shitty card without even shittier support) and probably no weapon buffs.
This is one of the most underrated cards in this entire set. I'm 5-2 with Thief Rogue already and this card has been one of the main reasons why I've been able to go toe-to-toe with aggro decks in wild. Two Deadly Poisons, two Squidfaces and one Shinyfinder with two Cutlasses in a deck with tons of card generation is all you need to have some good consistency. I encourage people to try it out!
Here's a neat interaction I discovered. If you get a different class Deathknight going, every Rogue card then counts as "a card from another class" and gives this weapon additional durability.

Thats actually bonkers o.0
Actually...I think this may not be technically accurate. I know it worked this way with the Druid DK, but IIRC, when I played the Hunter DK, every Zombeast increased Cutlass' durability.

Since when have you had a different weapon in oil rogue with 7 durability?
I mean the actual card, not the deck. Oil gives your weapon +3 attack immediately, though it's debatable if the 4/4 body but deathrattle is better or worse.

Oh I see. Yeah it could be better in some matchups but wild is pally infested as usual which means there's either no chance of getting an oil buff on your minion or you'll just have to run it into a divine shield taunt. I prefer Squidface.

Well, who says you can't have both kingsbane and cutlass in deck?

I voted bad but this card is super cool to play. I don't know if it will be competitive but who cares when you can have mad fun.
