All I have to say is they better give most classes at least some way to fight against decks like warlock that tend to have a huge very full hand. If not we're just going to see yet another spike in warlock players. Somebody call the vatican, I think the head of blizzard has been possessed by a demon and only wants warlocks to serve them.
Mill decks were never that good but I REALLY don't like playing against them so I like this change...The Mill lovers can go to Wild if they really wanna get free wins from control decks and give free wins to aggro.
Honestly I didn't think any of the three cards needed to be rotated out, but this is the only one I really hate to see go. Coldlight is my favorite card to punish greedy control decks with, and it's a staple in my all time favorite deck (Mill Rogue). Rotating that one card basically removes one of the more interesting ways to win from standard, and that sucks.
Kinda weird deccission, coldlight was one of the only cards that realy counter card hoarding while still be in most othk decks itsself.
It was one of the more interesting cards of classic set with rare mechanic. As for now ill hardly care but if they realy cycle coldlight i think they should just cycle whole classic set imo.
Sad my one of my favorite archtypes is getting killed in standard. Also "It offers unusually strong neutral card draw which can be detrimental to class identity. " is just bullshit as Coldlight is extremely mediocre card draw and is mostly used for milling purposes, not just for draw. They just wanted mill to be gone. I mean, I can understand it can be frustrating to play against, but it is, at least in my opinion, most fun archtype of all.
"They want mill to be gone"
Warlock doesn't have the tools to abuse these the way Rogue can. Shadowstep, Sap, and Vanish make Coldlight Oracle amazing for mill purposes. More often than not, there aren't many cards in my deck by the time all of Rin's seals have been played. Gnomeferatu is a nuisance that is not easily turned into a true mill strategy. There's a huge difference.
So they decided to move this card instead of Shadowstep disappointed.
Shadowstep is a class card that is essential to The Caverns Below, as well as some other strategies for Rogue. Prince Keleseth is still very good with it, and protecting a strong card like Sonya Shadowdancer is useful, as well. None of these stategies are as "uninteractive" as mill. A Kingsbane deck will come out of this change in standard and the game will be better for it. Mill is awful, especially in a format with no off-turn interaction and a hard cap of 30 cards.
He didn't say they wanted "Mill Rogue" gone. He said they wanted all mill gone. I was showing him that is not the case. They have literally put mill cards in the last two sets.
So, yeh. Obviously Mill Rogue as we know it dies without Coldlight. But that wasn't his point or mine. They don't want to "kill mill." They want to make sure that mill is constrained to the places where they want it.
Blizzard knows what everyone else knows.... the fun of playing a card game is PLAYING the cards. I still just auto-concede the instant I see a sign of mill rogue. RIP Mill, and good riddance. (In standard, at least)
Yeah that’s why they made jade and pirates, making people instant concede and feel cheated out of wins. Jade and pirates was the worst archetypes they’ve introduced/overpowered
I play wild almost exclusively so I don't really care. The thing is, there's no hand disruption in Hearthstone a la Duress/Thoughtseize effects in Magic and Coldlight was one of the few ways you had to emulate it. I suppose there's still Naturalize.
The reasons given for this rotating are weak. This card promoted creativity in all classes to be experimented with as card draw or mill engine. Who hasn't tried Mill Hunter at least once? This card is not OP or abused by all classes.
I can only see the reason behind this is being that Coldlight Oracle will be broken in some new cards or mechanics they plan to roll out in the new standard play. Which answers the question, "why now?"
i play mill rogue and i am happy to see it going to wild. its bad to win a game by not allowing the opponent to play their cards...this is the best decision blizzard ever made.

I am so pumped for this change. I LOATH mill decks and this rotation now makes it exclusive to Wild.
I will just leave this here.
Take a look at my card creations here in vojza's mini expansion topic.
I only played mill in Wild regardless, but it's still a shame

Seriously, why kill Mill? It's fun to play different.
I'm beeing HS to introduce the 'discard' dynamic with your opponents hands (like MTG always did). These are fun decks to play and break even the meta.
Not a fan of this HOF call.

I love this the most of all three cards actually, much more than Ice block which I really hate to play against.
Happy to see mill decks go away and to see Kingsbane Rogue take a hit, but simultaneously will be looking for a replacement in DMH Warrior.

I love this. Kill the mill!

Finally get my alltime favorit card golden.. sad sad that coldlight rotates
hahais this why I have seen SOOO many mills in standard and wild today?
Blame kingsbane, because that makes the deck viable. at 10 attack lifesteal that you CANNOT remove from the board is almost always a game winner.

i hope everyone understand.
