Random nonsense. No one uses Zerus, this will be just as useful. That is, not very useful.
Babbling book has seen play. And this is just better, minus the 1/1 body.
If it's better minus the 1/1 body is it truly better then?
It might be better but your argument is invalid.
I could see this being better but I don't think so and here are two reasons:
1. You have it in hand and can't plan for it. You can't expect your Flamestrike on tun 7 because it will change into something else before turn 7. With Babbling Book you knew what you had and you could plan for it.
2. There is no 1/1 body attached to it. Obviously 1/1 bodies are not much but when we are talking about a 1 mana cost card then I will say it's a least something. If Twisting Nether came with a 1/1 body then people almost wouldn't care but when a 1 mana spell comes with it, then it matters. At least a little.
However this card can potentially also be better than Book because you can choose to not use the card you get, wait and hope for a better one later. Something you can't do with Babbling Book.
It's not like you always get the card you need WHEN you need it from your deck either... could be a "Oh this works perfectly here" scenario
pretty sure u'd still run book
Carpe Diem - Seize the day
Normally I'd say random shifty things are crap but mage spells are so good that I'd say this I actually good.
Carpe Diem - Seize the day
What happens if Yogg-Saron casts this? Does it fizzle or generate another random spell effect?
This doesn't seem to count towards the mage quest, strangely.
Change my mind, Leyline don't work with the transformed spell, total crap.
It seems to be a mean to give some early spell for a big spell mage.
This card sucks.
