1) Turn 1 Pirate (Summon patches) 2) Coin 3) Cast this on patches, get sorcerer's apprentice 4) This spell is now free. Evolve other pirate into a Deathwing 5) Laugh at your opponent, then let them take their turn 2.
If you have a board with 3 minions, can you play Unstable Evolution in one of the minions and then, play the spell again, in another target, or must be the same target?

No. The card creates a shadow copy in of itself in your hand, allowing you to choose new targets for the shadow copy. You can choose as many targets as you are able to afford. Just remember any shadow copy you have left in your hand will disappear at the end of turn.
1) Never underestimate redundancy. Having more evolve effects can add consistency to a deck that has typically been very draw-dependent.
2) It's so flexible. You can use it early to take a value trade and full heal if you really need to fight for board. And unless you've already played the DK card and have zero minions in hand or on board, it's never a dead draw. And while there's obviously an RNG element, the repeatable nature gives you a lot more control over the result. On a related note, I think it adds a significant element of skill/knowledge: that is, if you know the card pool for each mana slot, you can maximize your odds of getting the type of minion (taunt, for instance) that you need.
3) Spell synergy, of course. Seems like this should be nerfed eventually, but it obviously gives you very cheap Arcane Giants and a potentially game-changing Yogg-Saron, Hope's End. And while I doubt there will be room for it in a standard Evolve Shaman deck, it would certainly solve your card draw issue with Gadgetzan Auctioneer.
Very cool card, all things considered. Can't wait to see it in action.
I predict this will be in almost every shaman deck as at least a 1-of. Has the potential to let you burn a slow turn trying to ramp up a creature on board that's lived out its trade potential into something insane. Even as a topdeck you can turn a totem into a random 8-cost, making it somewhere near the value of Forbidden Shaping.
I see some people mentioning this having combo potential with cards like Questing Adventurer , but I feel like Unstable Evolution is at its best when you have multiple minions that you want to evolve on board, and you evolve them until you get a minion that is really well stated for its cost and then move to the next one until you're out of mana. I don't expect to see Questing Adventurer surviving on board with several valid evolve targets on board as well unless you're already winning.
I think it'll be strongest playing something like Saronite Chain Gang or Doppelgangster and then evolving each of them until you get an OP minion before spending your remaining mana on the next minion down the line. In that way, it's stronger than evolve or the shaman DK because you can keep evolving just one minion if you get a bad one. That's where the power lies IMO.

Look at this thing and let me know what you think!
Well, Trump aggreed with me on this not seeing play in evolve shaman.
I'm going to make a pretty bold statement:
This will turn out to be one of, if not the most, most overrated cards in this set.
It is a pretty bold statement :) Though I will try a deck with it that isn't really "evolve" shaman. It just trys to leverage having cast a lot of spells.
I wouldnt say if this is playable or not, but i would just say Evolve is an annoying mechanic to deal with. Also can you make up your mind Blizzard? last set you made "freeze shaman" for some reason and now for this Set you gave us 3 totem Cards and now you gave us this Random Card. If youre gonna make a sense, have it so you can make it clear for everyone what class archetypes are going towards.
Maybe they just want to make us think and create our own "archetypes".
Back in the good old days, there was no "archetype" but deck builders everywhere. Netdecking has deeply hurt this game.
Now people complain when they have no pre-made deck with a particular card they want to try to copy from...
Evolve > Charge > Face > Evolve > Charge > Face > Evolve > ... > GG
I can feel a Trolden video featuring this card x)
I need some clarification.
If you have a board with 3 minions, can you play Unstable Evolution in one of the minions and then, play the spell again, in another target, or must be the same target?
So, that card is really good. late game, you can evolve all your board, and if you dont like one of the results, you can try again.
Do you like the result now? Ok, go to the next minion. Rinse and repeat.
Very good card.
I think this could be the best card in the set.

Waiting for a trolden vid where someone drops lorewaker cho on turn 9 and then fills the opponents hand with spells on turn 10

Not quite as good when you look at the stat line of all the minions released this expansion. Evolve is going to be garbage.
This card is going to be so nerfed. Mark my words plz.
Can't wait for the youtube highlights of drawing this from Tolin's Goblet!!
