Hungry Dragon was actually better than this. The only time it wasn't was when your opponent got a Pit Viper. Hoarding Dragon has much more chance to backfire and doesn't provide any synergies, not even mill really.
I think it's worse than Hungry Dragon. 2 mana anytime they want is frightening. You play this on curve, the turn after they kill it and drop a better 7 drop and your tempo is meaningless.

I'm not sure how easily they'll be able to kill a 5/6 on turn 4-5

imagine playing against a quest mage with a Fireball in hand, or a Primordial Glyph that discovers one. now he's got 2 more activators for his quest, or an activator for his Archmage Antonidas
The effect is definitely not worth it in today's current meta. Helps Big Druid ramp and dump their hand, gives Razakus Priest free cycle and ammunition for Voidform, and comes at a crucial point that accelerates a Bonemare turn if an opposing midrange deck can kill it immediately. Rogue also gets combo activations for free, which can be terrifying.
It's better than Hungry Dragon because it doesn't immediately negate its own stat advantage with that darn 1-drop. It's also a notable pre-emptive minion before an opposing Scalebane on 5, a rare early minion that can trade and survive against it. Also, the fact that it's a Deathrattle and not a Battlecry means you can properly take advantage of the extra stats this time, and if it survives for at least a couple of turns, the tempo disadvantage from giving a midrange deck two coins becomes much less harsh.
Overall, it's not the card's fault that it's bad, it's the fact that this meta in particular is really, really bad for it.
5 mana worth of stats for 4 mana, but when it dies the enemy gets 2 free mana to use whatever they want whenever they want. In a way you could use it to mill cards, but in most situations at best you gave your opponent 1 more mana to use towards tempo for a little more power immediately. There are currently enough dragons that you probably wouldn't even really think of using this dragon. Just use twilight drake for like a 4/7 or something.

Nice card for dragon priest, all you have to do is have a silence handy. Maybe follow it up with Kabal Songstealer on turn 5.
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.

Nah, if I want an aggressive dragon, I'll use cobalt. Control and midrange don't need this kind of risk, either.
Hungry Dragon only worse. GJ Blizzard
I see combo potential with Lorewalker Cho
Maybe in a deck that plays : Counterfeit Coin | Lorewalker Cho | Sonya Shadowdancer | Hoarding Dragon | Kobold Illusionist could see play.
Something like this?
If Deathrattle was one coin then maybe just purely because of N'Zoth synergy. With two, I mean it doesn't even have taunt. Why???
Playable ? Maybe along with King Mukla and Nerubian Unraveler with King Togwaggle ? Hard to envision the deck though.
Slay the Dragon take the treasure, fair enough.

If it was 1 coin it might be worth it, but 2 is too much. Might see play in Silence priest I Suppose but that's probably it. Love the art though

Deathrattle Dragon Priest is real
Well, it is a common after all.
I know there are some ridiculously good commons these days, but on the whole, it shouldn't be surprising when a common is kinda shitty.
Plus, it's always nice to see an Evolve nerf, isn't it?

Not a fan of the Druid Mill deck, but might be a legitimate option with what is shaping up to be a very control heavy meta.
If the opponent's deck goes face there is no drawback.
4 mana 5/6 if it doesnt die.
Not sure if hyped yet.
*laughs in quest mage*
