All that I'm saying is "this card isn't good by itself, it demands combination with something else because you can't just play it prematurely and hope that it survives until your big play, and even if it all works out, basically you gained as much health as if you just played Ice Barrier or even less".
Eater of Secrets? Whatever, you have multiple secrets. They, on the other hand, don't have even 1 Eater of Secrets. Usually. But more importantly... you're unable to search for Arcane Artificer. And it actually costs you a card slot. Unlike Ice Barrier, which is somewhat "free" if you run Arcanologist. And usually, you do.
OF COURSE its not meant to be an independent card. Of course you dont play it early game. No one ever disagreed on that. You really do not understand the intentions of this card.
Uther of the Ebon Blade does not even have anything to do with unlimited value; its an Exodia card, aka OTK card unless you include all Exodia decks the same category.
Why this card is good:
1) Non-static, high-potential armor game.
2) 1 mana cost
3) Multitask; Mana conservation; essentially a pre-nerf Innervate,
4) Allows you to play your 1-10 turns more fluidly; without having to stall.
6) For Mage decks that didn't have any secrets or just had Ice Block.
If you're playing the typical Secret Mage deck, then yes, Arcane Artificer is not necessary; otherwise this card is great and high value potential in decks with Dragon's FurySpiteful SummonerArcane Tyrant etc. Sorry if you dont see that potential like others do.
It's not like I don't see any potential. I'm Reno Mage main and this card isn't good enough to play there. Or, to be honest, anywhere except for Dragon's Fury/pure ElementalControl-ish Mage. And these decks aren't very good, to say the least. My guess is Tier 3.

We know your expectations for this card is low; its unfortunate you dont see its full advantage over another card thats 'safer' just like literally 90% of the community have mentioned here.
Big Mage & Control Mage - definite yes and must have
Secret & Tempo Mage - not necessary but these archetypes arent even running Ice Barrier either since both are more for late game
The only deck that even considers 1 Ice Barrier is Exodia Mage and that was because Mage lacked heals.
Almost everyone has said it has turned the tables for them already. You're looking at this at a very rudimentary perspective. Do some research look up decks I mentioned people are climbing with now.
This card is underestimated in the early game, in some situations I'll play it turn 1(2 health really comes in handy) then coin ice block on 2. If my opponent hasn't killed it(happens more than you think in the early game) I'm usually able to drop a fireball or a 5 mana spell for more armor.

My "expectations" are based on approximately 1000 of Control Mage Ranked games. What is your story?
Anyway, it's not about our "achievements" with this kind of deck. It's about this card. Which is not much better on average than Mistress of Mixtures. Nuff said.

Where is this "1000 of Control Mage" Statistic Database? HSReplay? Metastats?

This guy is super powerful in the late game. Drop him then meteor/blizzard and play a secret. You've now wiped or at the least frozen their board and gained 9 armor with another turn to gain more unless they use removal on it.
He's been doing a great job of keeping me alive in this elemental deck I've been playing
There is difference between being determined and being stubborn.

Saying pro players like Firebat, Thijs, DisguisedToast, Kripp, Amaz - who ALL used 2 Arcane Artificer in their arch-decks are all wrong is you being stubborn over determined.
Just ignore him, he's a troll. He went onto the elemental mage deck I linked earlier and started leaving nonconstructive troll comments there too.
I unfortunately didnt realize that until he mentioned the Mistress of Mixtures comment
Unfortunately, you don't realize that maximum value you will ever get from this card is 9 armor. Hoping that Arcane Artificer will survive for another turn is beyond optimistic, to say the least.

This is why I keep saying you're looking at this very rudimentary. You keep mentioning its a weak body and weak to play early game; which this card is not for either purpose. You think its fullest potential is only 9 armor.
Max armor is not the point. It's multitasking. Effeciency. A free innervate with armor.
You dont have to waste 3 mana to gain 8 armor. No deck uses Ice Barrier other than Exodia Mage and thats because that was the only choice they had.
You can keep playing the spells you have to while gaining that 9 armor.
It survives another turn more often than you think.
So its not just 9 armor potentially. It can be double that.
You clearly dont realize the mana-effiency this card is giving. You think this card is bad because you dont realize the purpose and intention of this card.
Apparently everyone is wrong and you are right.
P.S.: Stop using the "But what about this; I was right about this before." because I never discussed those with you before. You keep bringing other cards into this because you know you're stubborn
It is "real good" ONLY in Elemental/Big Spell Mage. Just like I said twice already. Do you even listen?
My argument isn't "card is bad, fuck Blizzard, dust it". My argument is "card is barely good enough to consider its inclusion anywhere EXCEPT for Elemental/Big Spell Mage".
This is such a great little card. In theory a better Ice Barrier.

This card has saved my butt a few times already. Especially if I manage to get two on board.

Okay :)
Took out ice barriers in my Exodia and replaced with these guys. 3 mana heal 8 not efficient enough these days.
Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
