This is a moronic topic. If a card is busted to the point where it sees play in every deck, it doesn't matter what rarity it is. It should simply not exist, as it harms deck diversity, and therefore the fun to play HS.
Drakonid Operative is powerful, but needs a dragon, and Houndmaster needs a beast. Since these cards have specific requirements, it has to be put in synergy decks, and the fact that these are class cards allows them to be slightly better in power. Now take our friend Bonemare, its requirement is simply "a minion". The "play around it" argument which many have stated in this thread does not seem applicable as having a minion stay alive is highly likely, whether it be a silver hand recruit or a totem. While it is easier to play around by constantly removing minions in control decks, in decks such as Zoolock, Aggro Druid or Shaman where the smallest of minions stick around, turning a 2/2 into a 6/6 Taunt that can attack is simply too problematic. Moreover it on its own is a 5/5. So counting in total stats, taking into account it buffs a 0/1 (the weakest kind of minion), you have yourself a 7 mana 9/10 with the requirement of having just one minion stay alive.
But that point agrees with the statement I made earlier about building synergy decks with Bonemare right? Yes, but Bonemare is class neutral, meaning that it can be put in ANY class. On top of this, it forces a huge waste of resources, such as having to use Dragonfire Potion on 2 minions, using Shadow Word : Death on what would have been a small minion, wasting Bloodlust, having to use AOE freeze, trading in minions, or using combo removals or else Bonemare and his friend will hit you for 9 damage + whatever the other minion's attack is.
There is also its comparison to Dr. Boom. He is a Legendary and its big stats can be removed by single-target removal. His Boom Bots are essentially 1/1 that deal RANDOM damage. Even so, Dr. Boom is Legendary. Bonemare is Common, which means there can be 2 Bonemares. The threat of Bonemare cannot be removed by single-target removal.
I dont know what other people say about bonemare, but I dont like the card. Has nothing to do with it being common rarity, although that breaks arena. Arena is basically bonemare fest right now and that's shitty.
But since you talk about new players and constructed, you probably aren't talking about arena. In constructed you can make all the powerful common cards you want, just don't make a neutral card that gives a huge midrange swing and let people run 2 copies of it. It's just really annoying to deal with.
Pretty well aware of a flame war... yet I'm bored enough that I'm going to throw in my two cents.
I'm actually glad that Blizz made this common. The best cards in the game, especially those with a high mana cost, are disproportionally legendary or epic rarity. Giving newer players access to this earlier on is a big plus.
My big beef with Bonemare is that it's a big win more card. If you have a minion on board, you can use this card to solidify board advantage and spiral the game out of control. If not, this card will probably come out turn 8 or 9 at the earliest, and you likely won't get the same benefit as giving a minion that can attack +4/+4. It makes it so that how the game plays out to that point practically decides the game: and the fewer turns in which a game is decided, the more RNG goes into he game's outcome. When you combine this with the fact that this is a terrible card to mulligan into in the early game yet a necessity in many tempo/aggro decks, draw variance is also increased.
Some people will contend that this is the case with many big minions, but I disagree. With many other big minions, you'll be happy to put them down on an empty board, which encourages a more controlling deck, and you usually don't have so much tempo per mana cost.

FreezeMage never dies, it just sleeps from time to time. Also, in game, I'm just DrPyro, just sayin'.
I haven't seen anyone complaining about bonemare in ranked before you opening this thread.
Real problem with bonemare is it destroyed arena combined with death knights (which are my favourite designed card type for ranked, but don't belong in arena).
Druid , warlock has some similiar cards that can buff a minion and attack the same turn. The same for hunter and houndmaster. I have more problem with houndmaster then bone.
I think this card is good for the meta, my opponent actually think about trading to avoid punishment from bonemare instead of going all face like a true warrior
Powerful neutral cards need to be niche so they aren't played by most classes in most decks and therefore end up in most games. That's the issue here. You'd have thought they would've learned from Dr. 7.

Houndmaster is more of a hassle that Bonemare. When a Hunter has a perfect curve, you are required to have perfect answers right at the start of the game to be able to stop Houndmaster tempo and value, which is on turn 4. Bonemare has more tempo and value than Houndmaster, but it comes out later in the game, meaning you are more likely to have been able to draw into cards to help you deal with the board situation.
They are both powerful cards, but they don't really need to be changed.
Was about to say pretty much the same thing... A good Houndmaster on turn 4 may sway an even game your way because opponent may not have an answer right away (you have to deal very early with a decent taunt, and likely being hit for 4 for sure next turn). On the other side, games are so fast that by turn 7, the outcome of most games are already decided anyway. By then, you likely have the board and this will be only a small delay, or you are likely loosing anyway. If the game is still thight, then more than likely, the opponent is sitting on a solution already. Though, since Blizzard seem to be monitoring the number of thread/complaints on cards, I guess we may likely see an un-needed nerf on it eventually, particularly because it's too powerful in arena.

Found the voice of reason.

True, and that is why it's not busted. It's not in every deck, not even close.
At some point it will rotate. People also complained about Piloted Shredder. Neutral cards like these will pop up from time to time. And neither Bonemare og Shredder are over powered imo. Just really solid cards. Bonemare is also kept in check by a turn 8 Anduin. I've generally found Bonemare to be awkward in a lot of situations.
Hearthstone players have weird opinions on how the card game should be balanced. Players from other card games generally tend to accept that some cards will see a lot more play than others. Try to play MTG Legacy or Vintage over 20,000 cards and only around a couple of hundreds see play. And cards like Brainstorm, Delver of Secrets and Force of Will are in 80% of all decks.

Because the power level is off the charts for its cost.
Because in every deck that it's in, you have to clear their board every turn after turn 7 unless you're prepared to deal with Bonemare on a minion.
Because it provides an insane tempo swing in the decks it's used in such that topdecking it when you're way behind can turn the game around.
Because it's so good, I gave it honest consideration for Razakus Priest, a deck in which it most certainly does not belong.

When building a deck, I generally don't even consider Lich King anymore in favour of Bonemare. I think that's bad. Same for Out of my Jungle.
Dont see the problem with this card

Such a boring broken uninspired pile of stats of a card. It does harm deck diversity.
Very sad this is the best they could come up with and we have to see it played over and over again.
I would be less annoyed by it if the card was at least interesting.
