Today we completed our 3rd week with Knights of The Frozen Throne, i opened maybe 90 pack when the expansion got released got 4 legs,
but later i opened packs when ever i collect 100 gold, i got Golden Prince Keleseth, today i packed Golden Moorabi.
Before KFT release i opened packs from every set, my luck wasnt bad but im not the person who packs golden legs alot, im 100% sure there is a change with the legendary drop.
Afaik the way it works rarity and golden chances are unrelated. Basically there chance to get a rarity like legendary and then every card in the pack has some small chance of becoming golden and if you are lucky it will be the legendary...
Yup I can confirm this. I bought 46 packs when KOFT launched and got only 2 normal legends which was pretty meh, cept for the free DK ofc.
So yesterday, I bought 5 packs cos i had 500 gold exactly and got as follows: Golden Bloodreaver Gul'dan , golden Hadronox [/card], golden [card]Prince Valanar and a non golden Archbishop Benedictus. The legendary drop rate was insane.
I could say I was super lucky but also...the pity timer took no pity on me lately so I guess it was due.
First 12 months of Hearthstone: 1 Golden Legendary.
Last month of Hearthstone: 3 Golden Legendaries.
Surely they have increased it? Or perhaps, the pity timer reset means you're going to get a golden legendary early on? All 3 of my recent Golden Legs were from different sets.
Then explain why I haven't got one in the last 660 packs I've opened. You were just lucky, two golden legendaries is a way too small sample size, you'd need to open like 20000 packs till you get a good average and then see if it has increased.
I could open a thread like this too with the title: Golden Legendary drop rate drastically decreased!?! And some people who were also unlucky like me would respond and confirm this.
I could easily take screenshots, you know :D But that's not the point. The point is I'm NOT usually lucky and I thought it was weird too and that some drop rate bug is happening since it happened to OP too.

90 packs when KFT released = 4 normal legs
maybe like 6 packs (using gold ) = 2 golden legs
