the fuck are you smoking. they both cost the same and this does more.
How does this do more? There is no evidence that weapon deathrattle activates nor durability resets. Just fancy inconsistent text to deal weapon damage to a single minion. As it is a spell, unlikely to work with poison effects either (see Bladeflurry). Cannot take advantage of temporary attack buffs, therefore worse than Savagery.

Anger is the punishment we give ourselves for someone else's mistake.
Super good with high-durability weapons, not very good with low-durability weapons since you're always wasting one charge. Also probably better for aggressive decks since weapons get progressively worse the longer games go, at least when you're playing a class with limited healing.

one card is "deal damage to a minion equal to your attack"
the other is "deal damage to a minion equal to your attack and put your weapon back in your hand"
how is the second not STRICTLY AND UNDEBATABLY BETTER than the first when they cost exactly the same?

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

The durability does reset (it comes back to your hand with full durability). It works with keyword on the weapon.

It won't work because the damage dealt actually comes from the spell, not the weapon. I suppose the weapon will also lose poisonous once bounced back to your hand.
The spell says "It (your weapon) deals damage" so I think you're wrong.
i thought so to, this is different from blade furry as the damage is from the weapon rather than the spell
I don't want to know what "Blade Furry" is...Is that like a furry dressed like a Blade Liger from Zoids?
anyway back to the topic, yes, reading the spells it does seem like Blade Flurry (the spell) deals the damage while with Doomerang it is the weapon (not the spell) that deals the damage. I would think this means that a poisonous weapon does insta-kill the target.
TOAST SENPAI WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?! WE NEED YOU TO GET ON THIS!
Which is the same as not losing the weapon in the first place. "Throwing" the weapon probably refers to the animation only. This spell will not activate weapon deathrattle nor will it reset durability.
So therefore strictly worse than Savagery, which benefits from weapon and temporary sources of damage. This spell will not benefit from a burgled Heroic Strike for example.
Reset durability is in reference to it going back to your hand, where it has full durability. Also, it works with poisonous and lifesteal so that's a big bonus. At minimum does the same as savagery, but still adds a 1/2 weapon to your hand. Plus, you're cross class examining really hard here. Druid never plays savagery cause it pretty much always get so maxed at 1 damage.
If it allows for the effects to play (envenom is main one I'm looking at here, but lifesteal looks promising) then card return of original weapon, this looks to be quite an interesting card.
Obsidian shard + envenom, attack once accept damage, doomerang another, re equip.

Another person in the "no idea what strictly worse" means camp.
Some Rogue weapons have battlecries. You get to use them again. Savagery doesn't do that.

Shadowblade + Prep + poisonous weapon + this. Kill 2 minions for 4 Mana...I like!!

Is there any word on this retaining buffs after it returns to hand?

*It deals its damage, then returns to your hand.
I really hope that isn't the wording on the final card, it would really piss me off every time.
wow lol. damn that's a good card.
