This should be build a beast not Hunter. This is terrible, if it was hero power +3 att +3 armor each turn it would be good but its optional so you cant even att and get any armor to soften the blow like normal. Change the battlecry, turn 7 and we get those options? EVERY other DK is broken as f and druids get this? C'thun? Jades? Crappy quest and now druids get this? Bring back combo druid so we actually have a tier 1 deck. Always pushed into brain deck decks.
Funny enough the only deck that wants to run this is actually Jade Druid I think. As a more controlling style of Druid you will appreciate the extra marginal healing (+3 Armor), which is much better than +1 Armor and you can use the tokens to stall based on what you play against. Big Druid probably doesn't want this since the point is to ramp into big threats and 1/2s with poisonous or 1/5s with taunt aren't exactly what you are looking for on 7 mana. Aggro Druid won't run a card like this ever. Maybe some form of Midrange Token Druid can be born where this card is good mainly due to the extra tokens it spawns.
So yeah I don't understand why Blizzard printed this. A Big/Quest Druid needed a HP that can provide resources for the Druid to close out the game and to help with those turns where you draw badly and they get this. Really? In fact, I expected the DK to be 10 mana since Druid is the Ramp class and you could then also afford to make the DK stronger, but for some reason Blizzard wants Jade Druid to be the Control deck druid plays forever.
Looking at what Druid got we can see that they rehashed the concept of 1/2 Poisonous and 1/5 Taunt and have given us about 5 cards that revolve around that effect (I am putting Crypt Lord here as well since it is more or less a 1/5 with Taunt). They should know by now that they can't make an archetype in a single set and so the good components of their "brilliant" idea will just be incorporated in the strongest control deck currently available, which is Jade Druid. There is little reason to switch to Quest (although I will try, but I have to rely on the Neutral Card Pool since Team 5 forgot they printed the Quest) and the DK is the most boring of them all, because Druid has Ramp and Flexibility as its core identity. Well there is good Flexibility (see Nourish or Wrath where you make marginal or even no sacrifice for the flexibility and there is bad Flexibility like the DK or cards like Starfall).
Does druid really have the removal options to just sit there and tank up? Walls of taunt can't be relied on. Nope, so you'll be using the attack hero power a lot - in which case...you are still way inferior to shadow priest, or quest warrior.
Most boring DK hero of the expansion of course, but although the effect may not look very different, it's a very strong card. The battlecry is worth 4 mana. And the 5 armor + the hero power for 3 mana is PRETTY good, for me this is a type of card you don't creat a specific deck for it, but that you play it on almost every deck.

This is exactly the problem. The only way Druid plays Control right now is Jade and that is why I think that if you want to leverage the Tank Up you play Jade. In fact, your best option as a control deck is to win with Jades. Getting into attrition-style battles with any DK is almost a guaranteed loss.
Against Rexxar's DK you would lose to infinite beasts, against Frost Lich Jaina a single Water Elemental can nullify your Hero Power, against Paladin you have to invest your Hero Power into theirs (and take 2 damage every time in the process), Anduin can deal more than 3 damage per turn in most likelihood (especially with Raza), Thrall can win with Bloodlust alone, but a strong board created with DK doesn't hurt and finally Valeera can pressure a lot with infinite Arcane Giants and her Jades will probably be closer to infinite than yours with the Geist around.
So the best thing for you to do is play Jades, get them to be very big as quickly as possible and kill your opponent before they can start using their DKs. I guess thx Blizz for pushing "new" archetypes. Druid may be by far my most favorite class, but I think I will be spending much less time with it this expansion and hopefully come next expansion they have cool cards for us. Tbh every other DK has made me excited to try them out so I guess I will be busy doing other things (and probably trying to make Jungle Giants Druid works, I guess Ultimate Infestation makes a lot more sense now).
It's completely a control card. And it's not bad. The hero is not going to be a devastating win condition like other hero deathknights. Reminds me of the 4 armor a turn control Warrior of old.

Well then I should also remind you of the lack of control tools that Druid has to leverage the Armor gain.
Boring and bad card, at least you won't get shitty dupes of it.
There goes the corrupted Druid NOT using the emerald nightmare as a tool in its effect.
That would have been a really cool concept and I actually was half expecting getting 2 mana get a random Nightmare card or something along those lines, perhaps with 5 strong options (given that its Druid they could even give you a big Choose One effect among all of them). I guess the design space of 1/2 with Poisonous and 1/5 with Taunt really had to be explored in the Class that can afford to play the biggest minions. I never believed than any cards would trigger me this much. I have seen many bad cards and I have tried to find applications for them. I have seen cards that are terrible and said nothing because some cards will always be bad. But to see one of the 9 cards that should excite us the most be this bad (call it bland/boring/weak, whatever you want) and in particular it being the DK of my favorite class considering on top of that I find myself excited to try every other DK, but this one, is particularly aggravating.
Assuming this is run with Fandral... its a very good card... for a turn or two. W/O Fandral, its playable to good. Not my favorite DK but a keeper if I get it.
Pretty sure Fiery War Axe is generally considered the best weapon in the game so having that be your hero power seems pretty good to me. This seems like an amazing control card I'm just not sure what a druid control deck looks like quite yet but I think the cards druid is is getting definitely point in that direction.
I actually think this is pretty reasonably strong (like, not broken and/or obvious how good it is, but yet not terrible). If there ends up being a druid deck more consistent than aggro druid or at least reasonably consistent, this will surely be a part of that deck.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.

It looks like Jade Druid. In fact that is where this card is most likely to be played.

Oh absolutely true as boring as that is. I'm just curious if something more interesting can be built but probably not until after rotation. Like I don't think an old school control warrior type deck in druid seems too hard to build now, just a question if that's worth playing.
Garbage battle cry with an unimaginative hero power. It's playable but I'm disappointed. Druid is my second favorite class and this just isn't as fun as I thought it might be.

Maybe... nah nah nah nah
Looking at Druid as a set in this expansion is just confusing.

I think this card will see more play than most of the other death knights.
Return of Midrange Druid?
Hero power gives you flexibility to pressure control decks and tank up against aggro.
It might not be flashy but this card is pretty solid.
This is the type of card that gets underrated during the reveal but then changes the meta. Mark my words.
I mean, this card is alright. Certainly nothing amazing but its not the end of the world.
I'm here to kick ass and play cards, and I'm all out of ass.

Can't believe some poeple rly think this is weak...unbelievable
7 Mana, 2 x 1/5 Taunt, 5 Armor and a huge Hero Power Buff for the rest of the Game
