They're really trying to slow down the meta by any means necessary. Not by this card alone, naturally, but with this + several others going in that direction.
Power creep. I mean 7 total worth of stats for 3 mana already passes the vanilla test, so the taunt keyword is basically free, and on top of that can snowball its health to ridiculous amounts (unless hard removal, ofc)?
7 stats taunt was already there with Hired Gun and this card has a really worse stats distribution so you need to abuse that extra "snowball effect" to make this a worth it constructed card
That this card has worse stats distribution than Hired Gun is arguable, at best. Actually, they serve different purposes: you might like a bit more attack in your taunt, I may like a bit more survivability. IMO taunts' main job is to protect rest of board, I do most of my attack with something else.
Anyway, being "better" here mostly depends on type of deck, matchup, playstyle and situation. But in a vacuum, they roughly have the same value (although for different reasons).
Hence the power-creep: new card has some text the old one totally lacked, with no serious drawbacks. Even if you play just 1 more minon after Crypt Lord, it's better already, stat-wise. Ofc the more, the merrier: if you can "abuse" it, even better. But there's no need to trigger the effect a ton of times to be happy.
Classes that aren't aggro favor 2-drop 2/3s over 3/2s. Also, that doesn't matter since there are 4 different things you can Adapt into that help Fledgling survive against a 3/2. "Dies to most 2-drops" is a lazy excuse.
It's not a lazy excuse, it's the way I play this deck, sorry if this is an offense to you. I always try to limit the RNG that could ruin me, and turn 1 flappy bird into RNG adapt taunt +3 atk poisonous into Fiery War Axe would ruin me.
Current meta favors 2/3s because they are currently better than the current 3/2s.
No, it's a lazy excuse, because it's the go-to response to anything. "You can't play this really strong 3 drop because it dies to most 2 drops." "You can't play this card because it's bad against aggro." "You can't play this card because it dies to ping." Without actually thinking about the current meta or what possibilities the card has, you've completely written a card off as unplayable or playable only in the way you assume it can be played.
There's a box and you need to start thinking outside of it.
I genuinely have no clue about all the shit you're talking about. Your made up those quotes.
"you can't innervate out crypt lord because there is flappy bird lol"
"you need to start thinking outside the box"
lmao.
Alright, I am done feeding you.
No you didnt say all those things, I'm just giving typical examples of the shit that people regurgitate in order to write off a card. You think I'm making it up, look at the thread for Bearshark. "It's bad because it dies to most 2-drops."

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
This card is insanely good. Cards that can gain health with no cap have been broken as hell throughout the game's history. And this gains health anytime you *summon* something. Living mana? Huge health burst. Token druid? Huge health burst. 1/6 is ON CURVE STATS!
Great card for aggro druid, it's a wall that can protect the swarm as it goes face.
Just to add - this isn't powercreep. It's stronger than a couple of vanilla minions, but class cards are typically statted more aggressively. When they come out with a 3 mana 4/4 vanilla taunt then people can cry powercreep.
I really like this card! The only thing holding it back is it's 1 attack. As much as I hate to say it, it's just not as useful/powerful as Tar Creeper or as valuable as Stonehill Defender.
I love the card, I really do. I think it's a great mechanic. It's just too weak though to see play. I'm going to have to vote bad. When it comes to 3 cost taunts, there's just so much better.
I am not sure about this card. I actually think that tar creeper is better. The issue with Crypt Lord is his attack. While it is not so much an issue in the offense, because you can dictate the trades, it is a problem on the opponents turn. Tar creeper also only has 1 attack in the offense, but he has 3 attack on the opponent's turn. And that makes it much more difficult for the opponent to trade small minions in. Almost every one or two drop will die to tar creeper. many 1 drops and almost every two drop will survive a trade with crypt lord. And therefore he will likely die without making a big impact if played on curve.
I do not know how easy it will be to get him buffed. If it turns out that is consistent enough, I can imagin replacing tar creeper with him. But if he is a 1 attack high health taunt in most cases, I don't think he will make the cut, because then he is removed without having a big neough impact on the board.
I voted bad, although I see potential which I like to test. But that is not an option.
Can easily be abused by aggro token druid to protect your other minions.
It's MUCH better than Tar Creeper in Agro Druid. Probably worse in slower Druid decks, but those aren't really running Tar Creeper atm anyway.

No they won't. Aggro Druid MAYBE but only because Innervate + this is decent. you most likely aren't going to play this on turn 3.
no other aggro deck will play this. you are wrong.

This is an aggro card disguised as a defensive card. Token decks galore!
And then Control Priests everywhere teched in a copy of Shadow Word: Horror for the entire Frozen Throne meta.

More value for Shadow Word: Pain.
Might see play in Token Druid. Too low value in other decks most likely.

So token druid just got a lot better
Voted bad.
Tar creeper is better, because it trades better. Even if Tar creeper didn't exist, i doubt i would want to put this in my deck.
