I think it does. I have faced a couple of control priests this season and a big portion of them actually ran him.

I see that you already have him and maybe you want to know if you should put him in your deck. If I had him in my collection as well, I would most definitely do. I think that Priest has enough recovery tools (some decks even run the quest), so a value generator isn't bad imho. This is also a great tech against controllocks (i.e. Rin, the First Disciple).

The other cards, which the mage posseses are just board clears, which are designed to synergise with the upgraded mage HP.  In both cases Archbishop Benedictus would be the winning card, because such decks often play to fatigue and the priest legendary helps them win the fatigue war. Not to mention, that Benedictus doesn't disrupt their hand (the priest player doesn't lose resources in the process) and he comes with a good body.

An example where Azalina would be better, would be as a "tech" against some combo decks and especially Quest Mage. In this case I would most definitely agree with what you said, that it takes good timing and good hand reading in order to gain the most in that MU. But this is just a rare case. You don't see combo decks that often and even if you do, you might not draw the key card on time. Sooo I don't know why you try to discuss it with me, but Azalina is very clunky. She functions pretty well in meme druid decks just because druid has excellent drawing tools.
