To be at highmane level it needs to summon at least 4/4 in stats. Clearly aimed at deathrattle hunter where it will summon another deathrattle minion. Super sticky.
Will be good but only if control hunter is viable. Midrange has too many necessary low mana beasts for a slow card like this to have any consistent value.
Well if it sees play it will most likely be in a secret nzoth hunter, where small beasts aren't played, where you can get value from Barnes. But I still think the card is a bit too slow for hunter needs. Savannah is a better drop, and it will be luxury to include this one, maybe one off. But just the though that you can get Savannah from this almost always if you build your deck the right way makes this card quite good.
That's good. They're trying to make a slower more control version of Hunter work and Deathrattle Hunter is a good deck to do it with. Plus you have cards to trigger your deathrattle effects and you have big ole N'zoth for late game.
Hunters have no reason to play a slow deck right now. They don't have the card draw, removal, or the sustain to play a control deck. We see Hunter getting these big slow value cards every expansion and they never see play. Control Hunter doesn't need more slow minions. The deck needs some support tools.
Way too slow. Highmane into N'Zoth is a strong enough end game on its own and you can even throw in the new hero if you feel that you run out of value (though lack of value has never been the reason that slow Hunter decks hasn't done well). No need to remove a bunch of critical early game to fit this in and to make sure it doesn't fizzle.
During Karazhan, Vlps ran a Secret Hunter list which ran Curator - the only Beast in the deck was Highmane (and Animal Companion, and the Beast secrets.) I mostly play Wild, and find that MR Hunter is fine against Aggro and Control, but struggles against other MR decks - running four Highmanes would provide plenty of ammo for the deck, and opens up the possibility of playing N'Zoth. Apart from Dr Boom, and pre-nerf CotW, Hunter has never really had a playable card past turn six.
Altogether, a more interesting card than it appears at first sight.
For one more mana you're getting +2 Health on a Highmane and a more variable Deathrattle.
I don't think you would ever play this INSTEAD of Highmane but there definitely are Hunter Decks that would like a 3rd or even 4th Highmane and they will happily take this card.
i personally think there's a lot of potential for this card in the Secret versions of Hunter with Cloaked Huntress and Professor Putricide where you only play Midrange and High-end beasts like Animal Companion, Stranglethorn Tiger, Highmane and Cat Trick.
Against decks that apply enough pressure that I can't play intelligently, yes.
However against those decks i'm probably not hitting seven mana reliably. Against control decks that really don't want to remove the highmane on their turn i have much better odds.
I would love this in a secret deck that runs only Highmanes. The problem is, unless you curve it perfectly and control the sequencing of minion kills, 2/3 times this deathrattle pulls the Highmane's hyenas, not the Highmane itself. The real idea here may be to play this very late game, after several insane build-a-beasts have come and gone.
Though that new Sharkbear or whatever would be a decent pull, too.

Not a beast, bas stats, will not see play.

I'm not a fan of this "if it's not meta then it's not playable" mindset.

Damn slow in this meta when by turn 6 you know if you will survive another turn.
What a garbage.Hunter is my favourite class Biblethump
They're clearly aiming for full control hunter, it will be fun to see.
I think its fine, the variance prolly will be its biggest weakness though
is blizz really trying to make control hunter a thing? lol

It took me a long time to see the orc holding a bow, for a while all I could see was a yellow thing puking purple

Remember playing Control Shaman with Reincarnate shenanigans? No? It was fun, here's a refresher!
